Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Posing approach and the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach to critical thinking skills. This study is a quasi-experimental study with randomize design pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study were all class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Sentolo consisting of six classes. From the population, two classes were randomly sampled as the research sample, namely class X MIA 3 and class X MIA 1. In class X MIA 3 students applied learning using the Problem Posing approach and class X MIA 1 students used the CTL approach. The instrument used to collect data is a test of critical thinking skills. To examine the effect of the Problem Posing approach and the CTL approach on critical thinking ability data were analyzed using the t test. The results showed that there were differences in the ability to think critically between classes with learning using the Problem Posing approach and the classroom with learning using the CTL approach, with the average students critical thinking skills in the class with the Problem Posing approach higher than the students critical thinking skills. in the class with the CTL approach.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini menjelaskan bagaimana metode Socrates yang diterapkan pada pembelajaran matematika dapat mengembangkan kemampuan disposisi berpikir kritis siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi pustaka (library research). Data dalam penelitian ini merupakan data sekunder yang berupa hasil-hasil penelitian seperti buku-buku ilmiah, jurnal ilmiah, laporan penelitian, dan sumber lain yang relevan. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini meliputi tiga tahap yaitu organize, synthesize, dan identify. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa metode Socrates dapat membantu mengembangkan kemampuan disposisi berpikir kritis siswa. Terlihat dari keenam jenis pertanyaan Socrates yaitu: (1) klarifikasi; (2) asumsi-asumsi penyelidikan; (3) alasan-alasan dan bukti penyelidikan; (4) titik padang dan persepsi; (5) implikasi dan konsekuensi penyelidikan; dan (6) pertanyaan tentang pertanyaan, yang dapat memunculkan indikator-indikator kemampuan disposisi berpikir kritis pada siswa ketika diterapkan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Kata kunci: disposisi berpikir kritis, metode Socrates AbstractThis study aims to explain how the Socrates method adopted in the study of mathematics can develop students’ critical thinking disposition skills. The method used in this research is literature study (library research). The data in this study is a secondary data such as the results of the research as scientific books, scientific journals, research reports, and other relevant sources. Data analysis techniques in the study include three stages, namely organize, synthesize, and identify. The research result showed that the Socrates method can develop students’ critical thinking disposition skills. Seen from sixth kind of Socrates questions namely: (1) clarification; (2) the assumptions of investigation; (3) the reasons and evidence investigation; (4) the field point and perception; (5) implication and consequences investigation; and (6) the question of questions, that can bring up the indicators of critical thinking disposition skills when applied in in the study of mathematics. Keywords: critical thinking disposition, Socrates method

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari penerapan model experiential learning untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa pendidikan matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi experiment dengan desain pretest-posttest kelompok tunggal. Populasi dari penelitian ini mencakup seluruh mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika di Universitas Alma Ata. Dari populasi yang ada diambil sampel secara acak sebanyak satu kelas sebagai sampel penelitian. Untuk mengumpulkan data penelitian, digunakan instrumen berupa tes kemampuan berpikir kritis. Sedangkan untuk menguji pengaruh penerapan model experiential learning untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji-t berpasangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahwa ada pengaruh penerapan model experiential learning dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to explain how Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach adopted in the study of mathematics can develop student` critical thinking skills. The method used in this research is literature study (library research). The data in this study is a secondary data such as the results of the research as scientific books, scientific journals, research report, and other relevant sources. Data analysis techiques in the study include three stages, namely organize, synthesize, and identify. The research result showed that the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach to the stages of learning, among others (1) presentation of problems/a real situation; (2) group discussion, which includes the finding activities and reflection; and (3) exercise a math problem, has relevance to the indicators on critical thinking skills, namely interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and decision. So that it can be concluded that Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach able to improve the critical thinking skills when applied in the study of mathematics.Keywords: CTL, Critical Thinking Skills

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of lidimatika multiplication method on elementary school students' mathematics achievement. This research type is quasi experiment research. The population of this study is all the rest of SD Ngrukeman. Samples taken are class IIIA students as experimental class and grade IIIB students as control class. The experimental class acquired mathematics learning using the lidimatika method, while the control class used conventional learning. The instrument used in this study is the test of achievement. To examine the effect of applying lidimatika learning method to achievement, data were analyzed by using unpaired t test. The results showed that lidimatika's learning method had a positive effect on student’s achievement.Keywords: Achievement, Lidimatika Method.
