Abstract

This research is to find out the problem of English teachers in using the 2013 curriculum in several schools in south ternate city. This is done to find out how English teachers can overcome the problems faced in using the 2013 curriculum from the preparation of RPP to strategies in teaching English, problems and solutions encountered in the implementation of teaching and learning process. The subjects of this study were the English teacher SMP 1 Muhammadiyah and SMP Nasional Banau. The researcher used descriptive qualitative to analyzing data. The researcher collected data by interviewing several English teachers at school and documenting some important data that support this research. Data collected from the interview script. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data analysis,data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The result of research shown that English teachers still do not understand the 2013 curriculum with same reasons, they are; It is still difficulties in preparing RPP , the 2013 curriculum has too many assessments and the 2013 curriculum has a lot of work.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Economic terms have many words that used economic words. By economic terms, the accounting students can understand what they said, and can be seen that economic terms has different meaning with English language although economic terms used English language. The research was a qualitative research, this research aimed to know students competence in using English economic terms.. It was conducted at the third semester in accounting department at Muhammadiyah University of North Maluku. The subject on this research were 17 (seventeen) students, the instument in this reserach was worksheets. The researcher gave test to the students, after that the researcher collected the data of the students’ answer, then the researcher analyzed each students answer. Based on the data findings, the students got motivation to learning English economic terms. There were variations of students’ sentences. The first students can make a sentence with economic terms, the second, students found difficulties to know economic terms itself.

Abstract

PUBG as an online game that has many English terms in it. Playing it repeatedly can allow the player to remember the vocabulary. Students can use online game not only as a medium for entertainment but also as a medium for learning English that can increase students’ vocabulary. Therefore, the researcher did this research in order to know how far the students’ vocabulary mastery through online game PUBG at MAN 1 Sanana. The design of this research was a descriptive research. This research aimed at knowing the extent of students’ competence in mastering vocabulary through online game. The samples of this research were from the second, grade students of MAN 1 Sanana amounted to 25 students. They are the PUBG players. Firstly, the students were tested and then the researcher interviewed the students to know their pattern to play this game. In colleting the data there were question sheets which have 50 items about vocabulary consist in the PUBG game. The result of the research showed that the students’ competence in vocabulary mastery through online game PUBG at Madrasa AliyahNegeri 1 Sanana is in the good category. Dealing with the score that the students got, it can be seen from the result of the test, that is 66,52 %

Abstract

In creating a comfortable learning atmosphere, an English educator must have many strategies in teaching English. Many methods and techniques in language teaching can be implemented by an educator or instructor for making the learning proses running well as wanted. Without creating good learning, the room will be boring for the students, and they will consider that the teacher/instructor have not competence in his/her discipline. In this study, the researchers implemented a kind of technique in teaching English for the students using quiz. The result of implementation shown that the students got high motivation in learning English, and they had enthusism when implementing it, for taking them active involving themselves in the process of learning English.
