Abstract

Background: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a communicable disease caused by dengue virus known as the most spread disease in the world. In Aceh Besar district, DHF cases were found annually, 156 cases was recorded in 2013 (IR=42,0 per100.000 people), 1 case of death was reported (CFR=0,88%). It was seen that almost household had breeding places and used materials which can trun into breading places of Aedes aegypti. This research was to analyze the relationship of household environmental condition and family behavior to the incidence of DHF. Methods: This research was observational analytic study using case control design with total samples of 150 respondents, consisted of 75 cases and 75 control. Data analysis were using Chi-Square and Logistic Regression. Results: The result was that there was significant relationship between breeding place in household (p=0,000 and OR = 5,5), temperature in house (p=0,000 and OR= 4,0) and habits of cleaning up water container (p=0,000 and OR= 4,7) to the incidence of DHF. Conclusion: Community can prevent the cycle of DHF transmission by doing activities such as egg, larva, pupa eradication in its breading places, cleaning up water container at least, once in less then 7 days and actively perform 3 M Plus activities. Coordination between various stake holders is needed to observe sanitation of environment so then breeding places will not exist for Aedes aegypti. Abstract

Content the phytochemicals present on guava seeds ( Psidium guajava ) can use to control the mosquito Aedes aegypti as vector disease Fever Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). Because that need looking for alternative control vector made from ingredients natural. one plants that can be used for vector control is leaf guava seeds. Leaf guava seeds (( Psidium guajava ) aim for know potency extract leaf, and guava seeds ( Psidium guajava ) as larvicide Aedes aegypti and know effect extract leaf and guava seeds ( Psidium guajava ) against Dead Aedes aegypti design the research is experiment with five treatments and five replicates, respectively consists of 20 larvae. Concentration used namely 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 0% (control ). Data analyzed with ANOVA one direction, Real Difference test Smallest and continue with analysis Probit ( CI 95% and = 0.05). The study shows that the effective dosage _ for LD50 is 15% concentration. Analysis Probit got an effective dose which is 11.484 %. Dosage of 5% extract leaf guava seeds ( Psidium guajava ) can kill larvae on average 5.4 tails (29%). 10% extract dose leaf and guava seeds ( Psidium guajava ) can kill larvae an average of 8 tails (40%). Dosage of 15% extract leaf guava seeds ( Psidium guajava ) can kill larvae on average 10.2 tails (51%). Dosage of 20% extract leaf guava seeds ( Psidium guajava ) can kill larvae on average 14.6 tails (73%) each dose could kill larvae, and the effective dosage is 11.484%.

Abstract

Kegiatan atau aktivitas pembuangan sampah merupakan suatu kegiatan yang tanpa akhir. Oleh karena itu diperlukan system pengelolaan sampah yang baik. Salah satu cara dalam mengurangi timbunan sampah organik agar tidak mencemari tanah,air maupun udara adalah dengan cara pengomposan. Metoda pengomposan merupakan salah satu cara mengolah sampah organik menjadi pupuk dan pemanfaatan sampah organik yang berupa kompos bias menjadi salah satu solusi atau upaya kita sebagai anggota masyarakat dalam menanggulangi dan mengurangi timbunan sampah, yag akhirnya berdampak pada pengurangan pencemaran pada tanah. Begitu juga dengan pengelolaan sampah dari limbah plastik yang dapat didaur ulang menjadi suatu barang berguna bahkan bernilai ekonomis. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pemahaman tentang pengelolaan sampah serta pelatihan daur ulang sampah plastik dan pembuatan kompos di Kecamatan Darul Imarah Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Metode Penngabdian dengan penyuluhan dan pelatihan kepada kelompok ibu-ibu dan remaja putri yang dilaksanakan dari tanggal 25 – 27 Juli 2016. Hasil kegiatan, peserta sangat antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan ini dan berharap kegiatan ini dapat berlangsung secara periodik. Ibu-ibu remaja putri mendapatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang pengeloaan sampah rumah tangga.

Abstract

Pencemaran lingkungan berhubungan erat dengan limbah. Limbah organik yang masuk kedalam air dapat menurunkan kandungan oksigen terlarut dan meningkatkan Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Suspended Solid (TSS) dan Total Dissolved Solid (TDS) yang merupakan parameter utama pencemaran air. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang bahaya limbah pasar dan cara pengendaliannya menggunakan arang aktif dari kulit singkong. Metode kegiatan dilakukan sosialiasi dan pelatihan pembuatan arang aktif. PKM telah dilakukan di Pasar Lambaro tahun 2017, dengan sasaran sebanyak 30 IRT. Model pelaksanaan yaitu memberikan penyuluhan dan edukasi pembuatan arang aktif. Monitoring dan evaluasi dilakukan secara pretes dan postes. Hasil telah menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pemahaman masyarakat menjadi lebih baik yaitu dari 23,3% meningkat sebesar 63,3%. Masyarakat telah berperan aktif menabur arang dari kulit singkong kedalam Saluruan Pembuangan Limbah (SPAL). Kesimpulan, sosialiasi yang diberikan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat tentang penanganan limbah pasar, dan masyarakat telah berperan aktif melalui upaya penaburan arang dalam mengurangi kadar BOD dan COD.

Abstract

The use of pesticides from year to year is increasing. Spraying pesticides on rice can leave residues in the environment and the rice. Pesticide residues are found in soil, water, crops, and harvested commodities. The study aimed to analyze pesticide residues in harvested rice in the district of Aceh Besar. This type of research is descriptive by conducting laboratory examinations using qualitative tests, namely knowing the presence or absence of pesticide residues in rice. The samples were examined using a pesticide test strip G9 fast pesticides detection kit. The research subject is rice from rice that has been sprayed from planting to harvest and taken from farmers in Aceh Besar district. Sampling was done by purposive sampling, taking as many as 30 points in six sub-districts in the district of Aceh Besar. The results of the analysis showed that 29 negative samples contained pesticide residues, there was only 1 positive sample which was indicated by the absence of a blue color change in one of the reagent areas. These results can be influenced by the use of pesticides by farmers who are still below the threshold value, low frequency of spraying, and the influence of rainfall which causes pesticide residues to accumulate with water.It is necessary to carry out repeated analyses of the pesticide content in rice, considering the analysis results are highly dependent on the intensity of pesticide use by farmers and are influenced by the season/rainfall.

Abstract

One way to manage waste is through composting. So research is needed which aims to determine the effective time to produce compost and liquid compost using the stacking bucket method. The research design used an experimental study, by treating household organic waste that decomposes easily with the addition of spoiled rice local microorganism activator (MOL) in a ratio of 1:2. The composting technique was the stacking bucket method, then we will look at the optimal time to produce high quality compost, according to pH, temperature, moisture content, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and C/N ratio. The results of the analysis by testing the physical quality and testing the quality standards of compost products according to SNI Number 19-7030-2004. The results showed that a good time to produce quality liquid compost was 40 days, while for compost it was 60 days. The longer the process of making liquid compost, the higher the levels of N, P, and K in the resulting leachate sample. It was concluded that composting using the stacking bucket method was effective in producing good liquid compost and compost manure.Keywords: organic waste; compost; liquid compost; stacking bucket method of composting ABSTRAK Salah satu cara untuk mengelola sampah adalah melalui pengomposan. Maka diperlukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui waktu yang efektif untuk menghasilkan kompos dan kompos cair dengan metode ember susun. Rancangan penelitian digunakan studi eksperimental, dengan membuat perlakuan pada sampah organik rumah tangga yang mudah membusuk dengan penambahan aktivator mikroorganisme lokal (MOL) nasi basi perbandingan 1:2. Teknik pengomposan adalah metode ember susun, selanjutnya akan dilihat waktu yang optimal untuk menghasilkan kompos yang berkualitas tinggi, menurut pH, suhu, kadar air, nitrogen, fosfor, kalium dan rasio C/N. Hasil analisis dengan uji kualitas fisik dan uji standar kualitas hasil kompos sesuai dengan SNI Nomor 19-7030-2004. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa waktu yang baik untuk menghasilkan kualitas kompos cair adalah 40 hari, sedangkan untuk pupuk kompos adalah 60 hari. Semakin lama proses pembuatan pupuk kompos cair, maka semakin tinggi kadar N, P, dan K dalam sampel lindi yang dihasilkan. Disimpulkan bahwa pembuatan kompos dengan metode ember susun efektif dalam menghasilkan kompos cair dan pupuk kompos yang baik.Kata kunci: sampah organik; kompos; kompos cair; pengomposan metode ember susun

Abstract

Food is an essential basic need for human survival, and food sanitation plays a crucial role in the growth and development of toddlers. Proper food processing that adheres to hygiene and sanitation principles can prevent the transmission of infectious diseases such as diarrhea, Environmental Enteric Dysfunction (EED), and helminth infections, which can lead to growth stunting and increase the risk of mortality in young children. This activity aims to implement hygiene and sanitation principles in the processing of food and beverages in households for mothers with toddlers, as an effort to prevent stunting due to dietary patterns, caregiving practices, and insufficient attention to hygiene and sanitation factors. The method of community service is conducted through the dissemination and socialization of hygiene and sanitation principles, as well as direct intervention in households to observe and apply these principles, followed by evaluation. This activity involves mothers in Gampong Teu Dayah, Kuta Malaka District, Aceh Besar Regency, and is carried out from June to October 2024, with support from the community service team of Poltekkes Kemenkes Aceh. The results of the activity indicate a high level of enthusiasm from the community in understanding the material presented, with many participants actively asking questions and providing feedback, as well as requesting further assistance in other health programs. Interventions were conducted by providing examples of the application of hygiene and sanitation principles in food and beverage processing. It is hoped that the community will continue to apply these principles in household food management to produce beneficial and healthy food.

Abstract

Wastewater is defined as wastewater that has been utilized by people for a variety of purposes, including the use of clean water from homes, workplaces, stores, public spaces, industries, and other sources. In addition to the issue of clean water provision—which is crucial to investigate since clean water is a basic necessity that the community needs constantly—one of the major issues facing residential areas, particularly in urban areas, is environmental pollution brought on by improper wastewater disposal. This community service project aims to conduct actions to enhance the physical quality of the river water that flows to nearby residences by means of the planning of a simple filter. The residence of a local in the sungai area that discards rubbish into the river during the activity's planning, execution, and assessment phases is the service's goal. To get ready, a preliminary survey is carried out to assess field conditions and secure authorization. putting lectures and student activities into practice. As a result of the action, four houses now have a shared infiltration well, removing any obstacles that the residents may have had in directing their home's wastewater.
