Abstract

The aim of this research is to prove that applying contextual teaching and learning can develop speaking skills of semester 3 Students of AMIK Tri Dharma Palu. The research applied quasi experimental with non-equivalent control group. The population was 95 students of semester 3 of AMIK Tri Dharma Palu. The samples were 42 students selected employing purposive sampling technique. Paper and-pencil method was used when collecting the data with a test as the instrument. The test was administered twice namely pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed statistically using 0.05 level of significance and 40 degree of freedom. The result show that after receiving intervention through contextual teaching and learning, students’ score got improved. In other words, applying contextual teaching and learning is effective in developing students’ speaking skill of semester 3 of AMIK Tri Dharma Palu.

Abstract

In the current digital era, of course, learning also follows developments by using digital media. Currently, social media is one of the innovations that are widely used as learning media. It is hoped that the TikTok application can help students and lecturers create innovative and interactive English learning media. Therefore, this article aims to find out how to use the TikTok application as a medium for learning English in the digital era. This article uses the literature study method by analyzing various studies related to the use of the TikTok application as a medium for learning English. Based on the results, it shows that the TikTok application can be an English language learning medium that is easy to use, innovative, and has various advantages and benefits for students and teachers, such as increasing interest in learning and motivating students to be creative; interactive communication occurs between students and lecturers; and videos can be watched repeatedly with interesting visuals.

Abstract

Abstract This research aims at finding out whether the think-pair-share technique of learning can be applied to develop the vocabulary mastery of the EFL students of AMIK Tri Dharma. The researcher focused the vocabulary mastery with the objectives: 1) to know the meaning of the words; 2) to know the pronunciation of the words; 3) to know the category of the words, and 4) to know how to use the words in sentences or contexts. The subject of this research was 18 EFL students of AMIK Tri Dharma. This was a classroom action research which was done in two months. The researcher applied two cycles during the research. The result of the research shows that the application of the think-pair-share technique can develop the vocabulary mastery of the EFL students of AMIK Tri Dharma. This can be proven by the increase of the score on the test from 53.05 to 60.4 than to 74.7. The treatment was stopped after 88,8% of the group achieved the criteria of success. The application of think-pair-share technique was effective to develop the EFL students’ vocabulary mastery. Keywords: EFL student, Think-pair-share, vocabulary mastery

Abstract

The widespread adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) across contemporary society has fundamentally changed the educational landscape. However, this technological advancement introduces significant challenges to the fundamental pillar of academia: academic integrity. This research systematically examines the rapid rise of AI-generated academic work, its implications for pedagogical methods, and the resulting erosion of scholastic standards. By conducting a systematic review of current scholarly literature, this study identifies the principal components and potential ramifications of this complex issue. The investigation stresses the need for a comprehensive framework to defend academic integrity while concurrently capitalizing on AI's potential benefits. This research proffers evidence-based guidelines to contribute to the preservation of intellectual honesty in the digital age.
