Abstract

Literature is the result of human creative thinking in the form of ideas, thoughts, understandings from the creators which encompass about existences by using imaginative, furthermore literature can also be used as an entertainment for their connoisseur. In this study, the research problem is how is the use of language style and what are the benefits in education which contained in the novel "Winter In Tokyo" by Iilana Tan. The problems of language styles involves : ) comparative language style, (2) satire language style, (3) contradictory language style, (4) affirmation language style, and (5) repetition language style. While the benefits in education which include the benefits of students in the implementation of learning at school are able to improve communication, create conducive learning, can improve speaking, reading, and writing skills. In this study, there are some theories that used as a theoretical basis, such as : a) The existence of literature, (b) definition of novels, (c) style of language, (d) types of language styles, (e) definition of education, (f) benefits of education. In this study, the researcher collected the data using qualitative research method. The steps of collecting the data are reducing data, presenting data, verifying data or concluding data. The result of the study from novel Winter in Tokyo" by Illana Tan, there are 107 language styles found in the novel "Winter In Tokyo" by Illana Tan. Comparative language styles are 16 hyperbole, 1 pleonasm, and 49 synecdoche. Repetitive language style, namely, 9 anaphoric language styles. The satire language style is, 1 melosis style, and 5 cynicism style. Contradictory language styles, namely, 7 paradoxical language styles, 11 antithesis language styles, 1 occupational language style. The affirmative language style is, 1 epiphora. Based on the data found, the most style of language that used in novel "Winter In Tokyo" by Illana Tan is the synecdoche style of language as much as 49 or 45.7% of language styles. From the researcher's result in this study, it found that the benefits of education in the novel "Winter In Tokyo" by Illana Tan were able to improve students' reading, speaking, and writing skills. In addition, it can improve communication both between students and students, or between students and teachers during the learning activity so that it can create conducive learning situation.

Abstract

This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) which aims (1) Mengimplementation of the project based learning learning model to increase the activity and learning outcomes of short story writing for class XI students of SMAN 2 Mengwi; and (2) describe the steps for implementing the project based learning learning model to increase the activity and learning outcomes of short story writing in class XI students of SMAN 2 Mengwi. The subjects of this study were 38 class XI students of SMAN 2 Mengwi. Methods of data collection in the form of observation, documentation, and collection of student work. The data collection instruments used were observation sheets and tests. The learning outcomes of students' short story writing increased after the second cycle was carried out. In the first cycle, students' short story writing learning outcomes increased with a classical mastery percentage of 21% in the low category. In cycle II, the percentage of students' classical short story writing learning outcomes experienced 79% so that it became 100% and was in very high criteria. So it can be concluded that the implementation of the Project Based Learning learning model can improve the learning outcomes of writing short stories for class XI SMAN 2 Mengwi.

Abstract

This research is a descriptive research that aims to gain an understanding of the social and cultural aspects. Data collection uses the method of observation and documentation. The data obtained were analyzed by descriptive qualitative. The social aspect is a major part of human life. In everyday life, every human being carries out social processes on an ongoing basis. As is the case in a story in a literary work, there are various kinds of social aspects including cooperation, competition and conflict. This process occurs in various domains, be it in the realm of friends, family and society. In the cultural aspect, it is an aspect that examines a culture or habits of the people that exist on the surface of the earth such as kinship, love, religion and education. Sociological research on this literary work discusses social and cultural aspects in the novel Suti by Sapardi Djoko Damono. To be able to understand the social and cultural aspects that occur between characters, the researcher analyzes it using the study of sociology of literary works. Researchers can conclude that the novel Suti by Sapardi Djoko Damono describes the social and cultural aspects that intertwine between characters. These social and cultural aspects are not only experienced by Suti as the main character, but also by other figures. The social and cultural aspects found in Suti's novel consist of cooperation, competition, conflict, kinship, love, religion and education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe anthropological studies in the novel Hyouka by Yonezawa Honobu. In this study, several issues were raised, such as (1) How is the form of the anthropological elements of the language aspect in the novel Hyouka by Yonezawa Honobu, (2) How are the anthropological elements of the religious aspect in the novel Hyouka by Yonezawa Honobu, (3) How are the anthropological elements of the artistic aspect and culture in the novel Hyouka by Yonezawa Honobu, (4) How are the anthropological elements of the social system aspect in the novel Hyouka by Yonezawa Honobu. This study found several findings, namely, (1) Describing the anthropological elements of the language aspect in the novel Hyouka by Yonezawa Honobu, (2) Describing the anthropological elements of the religious aspect in the novel Hyouka by Yonezawa Honobu (3), Describing the anthropological elements of the artistic and cultural aspects in the novel Hyouka by Yonezawa Honobu (4), describes the anthropological elements of the social system aspect in the novel Hyouka by Yonezawa Honobu. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method and in this research uses techniques of reading, noting, and describing the facts obtained then translated through analysis to obtain valid results. The research results obtained from the novel Hyouka are, (1) anthropological aspects of language such as speaking activities in interaction and the use of letters which are a type of written literature, (2) anthropology of religious aspects which contain a belief or magical power, (3) anthropology aspects of art and culture which are the result of human creativity which are used as a means of expressing desires, thoughts and understanding of nature - the environment, (4) anthropological aspects of social systems including systems that arise from human deficiencies needed to fill a certain space.
