Abstract

Over the past few decades, cities have experienced severe social and economic pressures, which disproportionately impact the urban environment. As a result, the environment has decreased in quality, which is characterized by increasing CO2 emissions and energy operating costs. Sustainable city development is considered as a step toward developing a sustainable environment for the community. Therefore, this research orients its discussions toward the regeneration of urban settlements to improve the quality of their urban environments. Taking Balimester as its case study, it aims at generating a model that develops a sustainable settlement in a densely populated area. It uses simulation as its method and is aided by an Urban Modelling Interface as its tool that comes with three parameters. This modeling shows that a Floor Area Ratio (FAR) of 0.43 with a total area of ± 427,233 m². This FAR produces an operational energy of 3983 kwh/m2/year and an embodied energy of 216 kwh/m2/ year. This figure is classified as very high relative to the standard figure of 240 kWh/m2/year. The mobility level in the context of walkability is 21-68, and a reading of 21-69 for the level of bikeability. These indicate that the residential area in Balimester is unsustainable.

Abstract

The research objective was to analyze and determine the effect of environmental personality and attitudes to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic on pro environmental behavior (PEB) in relation to green architecture. The research used a survey method, the research approach used quantitative with an explanatory format. Data collection techniques used a questionnaire or questionnaire. The calculation of data analysis requirements used the normality test (Kolmogorov-Smirnov) and the homogeneity test (Levene). Analysis of research data using partial and simultaneous regression analysis, correlation test with Pearson product moment correlation, t-test, and the coefficient of determination. The results showed that there was a positive and significant partial effect of Environmental Personality on Pro Environmental Behavior (PEB) related to Green Architecture with a t count of 9,717. The positive and significant partial influence of the COVID-19 Pandemic Prevention Attitude towards Pro Environmental Behavior (PEB) is related to Green Architecture, with a t count of 9.745. The simultaneous influence of Environmental Personality and Attitude to Prevent the COVID-19 Pandemic on Pro Environmental Behavior (PEB) related to a positive and significant Green Architecture with an F count of 62.159. The greatest influence on the COVID-19 Pandemic Prevention Attitude towards Pro Environmental Behavior (PEB) is related to Green Architecture.

Abstract

Through economic progress has transformed the traditional urban space into a modern high-rise object city. This requires spatial solutions and alternative technologies to repopulate the environment that was once very intrinsic for citizens to interact with. This research considers sky court and sky garden in terms of the social, economic, environmental, and spatial benefits they provide to urban habitats. This research has the potential to become an 'alternative' social space that can become part of a wider multi-level open space infrastructure to fill the loss of open space in urban habitats. This study aims to determine the level of understanding of residents on the importance of plants to improve the quality of the environment in which they live. Quantitative descriptive method to be able to describe a picture of a situation or event that is taking place naturally. The results of this study indicate that sky garden is an alternative for greening residential areas. Skygarden with the typical type with one edge position, was chosen as the residents' first choice because they feel more familiar with the care.

Abstract

The increasing volume of waste generated by the community is a common problem that we often encounter in almost all big cities in Indonesia. Because it is necessary to process organic waste into goods that are useful and have economic value. Partners for Community Service Activities are the PKK group in Larangan Indah Village, Tangerang City. The purpose of this activity is to provide knowledge and understanding of the environmentally friendly movement through socialization activities and the practice of processing organic waste into compost and Maggot cultivation media for catfish food. The activity is carried out in 3 stages, namely (i) the first stage is theoretical debriefing and visual enrichment; (ii) the second phase of field practice to partners; and (iii) the third stage is in the form of guidance and assistance to partners. The target of this Community Service activity is to increase partners' knowledge and interest in processing organic waste, reduce the volume of organic waste in landfills, and provide business opportunities to partners. The results of the questionnaire assessment showed that training activities were able to increase partners' knowledge of the process of processing organic waste into compost and maggot cultivation, by an average of 85%. From the results of Community Service it can be concluded that processing organic waste using maggot is a very potential business opportunity, because in addition to reducing the volume of waste it can also provide added economic value.

Abstract

The phenomenon of rapid increase in urban population has triggered spatial densification. By taking a densely populated area in the Jatinegara station transit area, this research tries to explore the typology of density patterns in residential areas and public buildings. The use of space and the spatial pattern of cohabitation between the informal sector and urban space are investigated in this study. Participatory design, space syntax simulation, and space use pattern observation are the methods employed in this study to address the case. The findings indicate that inserting, pasting, and stretching are the three types of compactions. Settlements, public buildings, and pedestrian spaces all experience hybrid forms of compaction. The results demonstrate that the cohabitation of hybrid spaces is negotiated, and spatial, and results in synergistic governance. The three categories of hybrid coexisting spaces are defined as informal places that coexist with formal spaces through hybridization. From the results of spatial observation and perception mapping in the process of densification, the research produced recommendations in a guided participatory workshop. This research is expected to contribute to the concept of overcoming architectural design problems of density in framing public space.
