Abstract

The growth of tourism does not only have a positive impact such as an increase in the regional economy, but it can also cause negative externalities. One of the example is environmental damage in the tourist area. Environmental sustainability in the tourist area will be greatly influenced by the behavior of the tourists. This study aims to analyze tourists’ behavior toward the environment. This study used primary data from questionnaires distributed to the respondents who visit Candi Gedong Songo. Furthermore, this study uses multiple linear regression analysis which is Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method. The results of the study show that attitudes, subjective norms, and perceptions of behavioral control have a positive and significant effect on intention. Intention, income, and amenities positively and significantly affect tourists’ environmentally responsible behavior. Age has a negative effect while education and personal values have no effect on tourists’ environmentally responsible behavior. Keywords: Tourist’s behavior, Theory of Planned Behavior, Environmental Responsible Behavior,                    Ordinary Least Squares.

Abstract

The economy of a region is assessed based on its economic growth, which is a measure of the success of development in the region. Economic growth is a long-term increase in per capita production that reflects the dynamics of the economy. Evaluating economic growth is an important metric to assess the progress of a region, where the economy of a region will be better if its economic growth is faster. This study aims to analyze four factors that influence economic growth, namely: 1) the influence of the labor force, 2) the influence of years of schooling, 3) the influence of population density, and 4) the influence of the Human Development Index (HDI). This research is a quantitative study using secondary data from BPS for the period 2018-2023 and panel data regression analysis with Eviews 12. The results showed that: 1) the labor force has a significant positive effect on economic growth, 2) length of schooling has a significant positive effect on economic growth, 3) population density has a significant negative effect on economic growth, and 4) HDI has a significant positive effect on economic growth.

Abstract

The Global Food Security Index (GFSI) shows an increase in Indonesia's food security from 2021 to 2022. However, this increase does not yet indicate better Indonesian food security because this increase is still lower than the global average and the Asia Pacific average. The food security conditions of farming households could be a solution considering the importance of farming household food security which can deliver an impact in maintaining economic stability and reducing dependence on the market. This research aims to analyze the factors that influence the food security of farming households. The model used is Robust Regression since the Normality and Heteroscedasticity assumptions were failed. Data were taken from IFLS wave 5. Based on the results, it shows that the variables of age, gender, home ownership status, cooking fuels, electricity use and house location influence the food security of farming households. While, the variables of head of household’s education, availability of toilets and water sources have no effect on the food security of farming households

Abstract

Indonesia is listed as the world's most used cooking oil (UCO) producing country. Biodiesel from UCO blends is claimed to have lower carbon emissions. A regional scale of sustainable UCO collection and processing ecosystem needs to be established to enhance the role of local authorities in the circular economy. Central Java has the potential for ecosystem planning for UCO management with a circular economy approach. Central Java Province has a total UCO potential of 36,217 kilo liters and can be used for biodiesel potential of 27,094 kilo liters per year. If it is assumed that the processing cost is IDR 9,000.00/liter. The biodiesel production cost for a year is IDR 243.86 trillion/year. Total revenue assumption of IDR 298.04 trillion/year (base price IDR 11,000.00/liter). The profit gain is IDR 54 trillion/year or IDR 4.5 billion/month. The B/C ratio of biodiesel processing is 0.22 and is considered profitable. This program is called Turn Oil On (TOOn). Keywords: Used cooking oil, Biodiesel, Circular economy, Central Java

Abstract

A production process requires inputs to be used to produce output. The input according to Solow is the capital and labor described in the Cobb – Douglas function. Infrastructure can be said as capital in an effort to increase productivity, since labor requires supporting facilities that can increase their productivity. Therefore infrastructure is seen as having an important role in driving economic growth, so that adequate infrastructure is expected to have a positive impact on economic growth. This study aims to analyze the influence of the availability of infrastructure that is divided into economic infrastructure, social infrastructure and institutional infrastructure, on the economy in Indonesia which is described by the GDP. This study uses secondary data in 33 provinces in Indonesia in 2007-2014. This study uses panel data regression using the fixed effect model and correction of Heteroscedasticity and Autocorrelation Consistent (HAC). Based on the results of econometric regression, it is known that the variables of road, electricity, education, health and capital expenditure have a positive and significant effect. While the employee expenditure variable has a positive but not significant relationship. In addition, it is known that telephone variables have a negative and insignificant relationship. The results of this study also show that electricity infrastructure has the biggest influence on economic growth..

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of foreign debt, foreign investment, trade openness, labor, and government expenditure on economic growth in ASEAN middle to lower-middle-income countries from 2000-2019. This research uses panel data with secondary data obtained from reports published by the World Bank and the Malaysian Authority. The analytical model used in this research is a multiple linear regression model equipped with the help of the Eviews 10 program. To see the influence of the independent variable on the dependent variable, the best estimation model was chosen, namely the fixed effect model (FEM). The results of this research show that foreign debt, foreign investment, trade openness, labor, and government expenditure simultaneously have a significant influence on the economic growth of ASEAN lower-middle-income countries in 2000-2019. Meanwhile, partially it shows that the foreign debt variable has a negative but not significant effect on the economic growth of ASEAN lower middle - upper middle-income countries. The variables of foreign investment, labor, and government expenditure have a positive and significant effect on the economic growth of lower-middle and upper-middle-income ASEAN countries. Meanwhile, the trade openness variable has a positive but not significant effect on economic growth in ASEAN lower middle - upper-middle-income countries.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the determinants of the structural transformation in ASEAN countries. This study uses quantitative panel data from 9 countries in ASEAN from 2000 to 2017, thus makes up for 162 observations. This study employs panel data regression analysis with fixed effect model approach. In this study, the shifting of sectoral value added away from agriculture sectors indicates structural transformation. In particular, sectoral value added consists of the industrial value added and service value added. The results of this study shows that dependency ratio, income per capita, education, and trade significantly affect the increase of industrial value added during observation period. On the other hand, total population, dependency ratio, income per capita, education, control of corruption, and trade significantly increase the service value added over time.
