Abstract

This study aims to describe the validity of learning tools in terms of several aspects such as content, language, and presentation. The method used in this research is to use a modified 4D (Define, Design, and Development), model and implemented in the Postgraduate Program for Science Education, State University of Surabaya. The data collection technique was carried out by the validation method. The assessment instrument uses a validation sheet. The tools developed are in the form of lesson plans, Student worksheet, and critical thinking ability tests. The validity of this STEM-based biotechnology learning tool is based on content feasibility, language feasibility, and presentation feasibility. Validity of STEM-based biotechnology learning tools were assessed by three validators consisting of two biology lecturers and one biology teacher. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively. The results of the validation of STEM-based biotechnology learning devices by three validators obtained an average score of 3.83 lesson plans, 3.67 Student worksheet, and 3.67 critical thinking ability test with a very valid category. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the learning tools developed are valid and suitable for use in learning

Abstract

Objective: This research aims to produce an e-book based on local wisdom on the use of medicinal plants by the people around Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park on plantae material to train students' creative thinking skills. Method: The research uses the ADDIE development model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). Data retrieval through a validation process by three validators, namely education experts, material experts, and biology teachers, practicality through readability tests. Results: The results of the e-book validation get an average high score with very valid criteria. The practicality of the e-book is measured based on the readability test. The readability test results show the readability level at level 10 so that it is suitable for use by grade X students. Novelty: Students' creative thinking skills can be trained by integrating local wisdom with various learning media such as books, modules, and student worksheets, both printed and electronic.

Abstract

Objective:The challenges of the 21st century with massive technological developments and the energy crisis that is currently plaguing various countries around the world, including Indonesia, are a big task for the world of education to make all elements including students aware and care about the energy crisis that has hit so it is necessary to integrate in the learning process the application of sustainable learning with the POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) learning model to train students' critical thinking skills. Methode: The study employs descriptive quantitative methods. The data were processed quantitatively and then interpreted qualitatively. Result: The analysis of the data obtained a significant value on students' critical thinking skills with a fairly good category with a percentage of 52.46%, the average value of students' critical thinking skills was in the poor category with a percentage of 32%. Novelty: This study is expected to be taken into consideration in further developing the application of sustainable learning with the POE model, because this learning has novelty in developing other innovative learning. Another novelty can be found in the material taken in this study is very appropriate with the application of continuous learning POE model to train students' critical thinking skills.
