Abstract

During the new normal, social commerce (s-commerce) activities have been emerging expeditiously as it offers solutions to fulfill Indonesians’ needs and wants. To analyzed this concurrent phenomenon, we have identified exogenous constructs (Word-of-Mouth (WoM), trust, and advertising) based on previous research mapping and tested their impact on consumer purchasing decisions via s-commerce (Instagram) apps. Subsequently, a online survey was selected as a data collection method to minimize physical contacts between people. A link of electronic questionnaire was generated and then distributed directly to all active Instagram users in Indonesia via Whatsapp and email. Purposive sampling technique was used to select 208 respondents who had basic knowledge of s-commerce concepts and practices and had conducted direct transactions at least twice. According to the PLS-SEM output, WoM and trust has a positive and significant effect on s-commerce purchasing decisions, whereas advertising has no effect. These findings offer the most up-to-date insights for e-commerce companies and related social media to reform their marketing strategies in the new normal to maintain consumer satisfaction and loyalty.

Abstract

Leadership plays an important role in determining the success of an organization in surviving the direct impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, an effective leadership model for sustainable performance success during this pandemic is still an issue of serious debate among both management practitioners and experts, and has become a central issue in theoretical studies and empirical research in the last few decades. This study aims to examine the effect of leadership models (transformational and transactional leadership) and work motivation on individual performance and job satisfaction. This research involved the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) working in South Sulawesi. Given the Covid-19 pandemic, data collection techniques were carried out via an electronic questionnaire, which was measured using a Likert scale of 1–5. To test the primary data and analyze the relationship between variables in the structural model that was built, covariance-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) or AMOS (SEM-AMOS) was used. The results of the research are expected to contribute to the local government's strategy in increasing the motivation, performance and satisfaction of ASN so that they can cope with the Covid-19 pandemic in South Sulawesi.

Abstract

Social media information asymmetry has been viewed as an essential resource for travelers seeking out travel information. The purpose of this study is to determine how social media’s informational quality and trust affect travelers' intentions. Testing utilizing multiple regression analysis was conducted on 100 visitors to well-known tourist destinations in Makassar City, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Using a questionnaire, data was gathered over the course of about two months. Empirical results show that social media information quality and trust positively influence tourist travel intentions in Makassar City.
