Abstract

This research was driven by the low batik making skills of elementary school students who take part in the educational tourism (edutourism) activities in Cultural Arts and Skills (SBK) in the Sanggar Batik Cikadu Tanjung Lesung. This research aims to improve the learning process of batik class at sanggar batik Cikadu Tanjung Lesung in improving batik skills in elementary school students in Pandeglang Regency. This study uses a classroom action research (CAR) in a batik class with a total of 50 students in grade 5 (five) elementary schools coming from 5 (five) elementary schools in the Pandeglang Regency. Each school sent 10 students to take part in this batik class. The data used in the form of instructor and student activities in the process of batik using a direct instructor model and the results of batik skills according to levels in Bloom's taxonomy. The results were obtained through 2 (two) cycles, each cycle consisting of 2 (two) meetings with a time allocation of 2 x 30 minutes. Based on data analysis the results of the study found that there was a significant increase in each cycle. The first cycle instructor activity was only 69.5%, the second cycle increased significantly to 82%. Furthermore, in student activities, the first cycle only 33.5% in the second cycle to 80%. Likewise in the students' batik making skills, each cycle changes. In the first meeting at the first cycle, it was 28.75%, then in the second meeting, it increased to 59.75%. In cycle II the first meeting increased again by 76.75% while at the second meeting increased quite dramatically by 84.75%. So it can be concluded that the application of the direct instruction model in the batik class in Sanggar Batik Cikadu for class 5 (five) is an effective basis for improving batik skills

Abstract

This research is backed by the low creativity of elementary school students in the subjects of arts culture and Skills (SBK). The material taken is related to the batik curriculum in Banten in accordance with the PERGUB BANTEN 2014 that requires the entire school to integrate the local content curriculum of batik Banten. This research aims to increase the creativity of students in the local content curriculum in SBK subjects. This research uses class action research (PTK) with the number of students from 100 Grade 5 students elementary school who come from 4 (four) elementary schools in Panimbang, Pandeglang District by joining field trip activities. The results of the study were obtained through 2 (two) cycles, each cycle consists of 2 (two) meetings with a time allocation of 2 x 30 minutes. Based on the analysis of the research results obtained that there is no increase between the filed trip with the increase of student creativity on the field trips in integrating the curriculum batik. At the instructor's activity only increased by 0.5%, while in student activity only increased by 13.5%. Although the percentages are increasing, they remain in the "less" category, as they are below 70. Likewise on the results of creativity, there is no increase in cycles 1 and 2, because it remains in the category of "less".

Abstract

Membatik merupakan salah satu bagian dari mata kuliah seni rupa yang jarang diajarkan di Program Studi PG-PAUD dan PGSD karena memiliki indikator pencapaian yang sulit, instruktur batik yang kompeten serta fasilitas penunjang. Adapaun indikator yang perlu dipenuhi yaitu tehnik membuat pola, tehnik mencanting, tehnik mengecap dan tehnik mewarna. Dalam rangka memfasilitasi pembelajaran membatik, STKIP Syekh Manshur benerjasama dengan Sanggar Batik Cikadu melakukan implementasi pembelajaran membatik melalui program wisata edukasi membatik. Seluruh pembelajaran dilakukan di Sanggar Batik Cikadu mulai dari materi, praktek hingga evaluasi. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis kesesuain antara program yang diberikan oleh Sanggar Batik Cikadu dengan capaian pembelajaran mata kuliah yang telah disusun oleh tim dosen seni rupa. Serta mengukur keberhasilan mahasiswa melalui uji praktek membatik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan tiga tahapan; persiapan, pelaksanaan dan pengolahan data. Data dihasilkan melalui uji RPS, uji Capaian wisata edukasi dan uji hasil praktek membatik. Sedangkan, keabsahan data dilakuakn melalui trangulasi data pada wawancara dan google form terhadap mahasiswa. Hasil yang didapat anatara CPMK seni rupa dan CP wisata edukasi berbeda, akan tetapi saling melengkapi. Sedang hasil uji praktek membatik masih sangat lemat pada proses pewarnaan, tehnik mencanting dan tehnik mengecap.

Abstract

Problems: This study aims to explore the role of batik as a medium of cultural expression by focusing on the analysis of motifs and writing about batik. The primary issue addressed is how batik motifs, such as "Parang," "Mega Mendung," and "Cikadu," function as visual texts conveying cultural messages, and how writing about batik plays a role in interpreting and disseminating these meanings. The objective of the research is to understand the relationship between batik motifs and the writing about batik in the context of preserving and developing cultural values. Methodology: employs a qualitative approach, combining semiotic and narrative analysis methods. Semiotic analysis is used to interpret the symbolic meanings of batik motifs, while narrative analysis is employed to understand how writing about batik depicts and documents these values. The findings: reveal that batik motifs are not merely decorative patterns but complex visual communication tools that convey cultural values and life philosophies. Writing about batik functions as a written text that supports the documentation and dissemination of these meanings. The study also uncovers that the community holds a strong perception of batik as a cultural identity symbol that needs to be preserved. Innovations in batik motifs and writing indicate that batik is a dynamic cultural heritage capable of adapting to changing times. The results of this study make a significant contribution to efforts to preserve and develop batik as a rich and evolving cultural heritage. Abstract

Bahasa daerah sebagai salah satu penopang perkembangan bahasa Indonesia perlu mendapatkan perhatian lebih. Pelindungan terhadap bahasa daerah yang didasarkan pada amanat UUD 1945 Pasal 32 Ayat 2 menyatakan bahwa negara menghormati dan memelihara bahasa daerah sebagai kekayaan budaya nasional. Atas dasar itu, penelitian yang berkaitan dengan bahasa daerah—dalam hal ini bahasa Sunda Banten menjadi sebuah jejak penting dalam perkembangan bahasa sekaligus pelestarian budaya daerah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui mekanisme dan cara apa saja yang dilakukan oleh Komunitas Aing dalam merevitalisasi bahasa Sunda Banten sebagai upaya pelestarian kebudayaan di Banten. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengurai setiap pertanyaan. Penelitian tersebut akan dilaksanakan dengan beberapa tahapan (a) menentukan lokasi dan populasi serta sampel, (b) penyebaran angket ke sejumlah responden yang kemudian dianalisis secara kualitatif (c) observasi nonpartisipan pada kehidupan sehari-hari generasi muda (generasi X dan generasi Y), (d) wawancara terstruktur dan mendalam dengan menggunakan metode snowball yang kemudian dianalisis secara kualitatif. Populasinya yaitu generasi muda Banten yang tinggal di Kota dan Kabupaten Serang, Kabupaten Lebak, dan Kabupaten Pandeglang yang tergabung dalam Komunitas Aing.

Abstract

This research adopts a qualitative descriptive design to explain and depict the characteristics of the Bandrong Lisung motif in Batik Cikadu. Using a descriptive approach, the research explores the meanings of the motif without strict limitations and employs qualitative methods to understand the visual language and meanings within the motif, focusing on the semantic script and cognitive aspects. The Bandrong Lisung motif in Batik Cikadu serves as a visualization of the gratitude of the Pandeglang community towards the rice harvesting activities. As a representation of rural life, this motif honors the role of agriculture in local culture, symbolizing gratitude for abundant harvests with profound spiritual and social significance.The analysis of movements in the Banderong Lesung Dance reveals symbolism in each gesture, creating a portrayal of rural life and expressing the cultural richness of agrarian society. Facial expressions and body movements provide emotional dimensions and cognitive language that connect the audience to everyday life. The aesthetic elements of the Banderong Lesung Dance, including color, motifs, and costumes, convey symbolic meanings associated with nature and agriculture. Accessories such as cloth and head ornaments play a crucial role in the semantic script, conveying deep cultural messages. The Banderong Lesung Dance creates a distinctive atmosphere through its musical style, rhythm, and tempo, enriching the audience's experience. The analysis of space and backgrounds highlights the importance of visual elements in the performance context, deepening the cultural meaning of the dance. As a local heritage, the Banderong Lesung Dance is not merely a dance but a form of preserving values and cultural identity. This analysis illustrates how the Pandeglang community preserves the authenticity of this dance as an inseparable part of their cultural heritage, making it more than just a performance art but a living legacy connecting them to their cultural roots.
