Abstract

This study aims to measure the level of validity, practicality and effectiveness of Problem Based Learning social arithmetic teaching materials assisted by Liveworksheets. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method of Sugiyono's development model which consists of 10 stages which are limited to step 7, namely: potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product trial, and product revision. The research subjects were: a VII grade math teacher, 10 VIII grade students, and 30 VII grade students. Instruments in this study include: interview sheets, validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and mathematical communication skills tests. Data processing techniques in the form of quantitative data analysis include validity analysis, practicality analysis, and effectiveness analysis of test results. The results of this study that LKPD teaching materials have met the eligibility criteria. This is because based on the results of the validation of experts who get a score of 80% which is considered valid. In the limited product trial, a score of 81% was obtained in the very practical category. As well as extensive product trials obtained a score of 85% with a very practical category. Then during the effectiveness test, it got a score of 80% with the effective category. Thus teaching materials in the form of learner worksheet are suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the extent to which students understanding of mathemmatical concepts improves when thaught using the problem based learning model compared to those taught using the conventional model, discovery learning. The research employs an experimental method with a quasi eksperimental design, dividing students into two groups: an experimental class and a control class. The study’s populasi includes all eight grade students at SMP Terpadu Al Mumin. Data Collection was carried out using to measure student’s understanding of mathematical concepts. The collected data were then processed using IBM SPSS 26, with data analysis encompassing normality tests, homogenity tests, and independent two sample t-test. The results indicate that students taught using the problem based learning model show more effective mathematical conceptual understanding compared to those taught using the conventional learning model. Additionally, there was a significant improvement in the understanding of mathematical concepts among students exposed to the problem based learning model compared to those using the conventional teaching method.

Abstract

This research is to find out whether the mathematical connection abilities of students who use the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach assisted by the Scratch application are better than students who use ordinary learning, a scientific approach. This type of research is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design in the form of Pretest Posttest Nonequivalent Control. Class VIII students of SMP Negeri 4 Cimahi were the subjects of this research. Class VIII-K is the sample for the experimental class and class VIII-L is the control class. The test instrument used is 4 questions on mathematical connection abilities. The data analysis techniques in this research are normality test, homogeneity test and independent two-sample t-test. The research results show that the mathematical connection abilities of students who use the Contextual Teaching And Learning learning model are better than students who use the normal approach. The average ability of students is moderate because students do not focus on studying and steal time during learning for other activities.

Abstract

The background of this research was that nowadays high school students are required to have a significant understanding and appreciation of mathematics. The fact was that students experience difficulties in learning mathematics, including their mathematical literacy and numeracy abilities. The aim of this study was to investigate the significance of the effect of the PBL learning model using TPACK on students' mathematical literacy and numeracy abilities; The method used in this research was quasi-experimental. The statistical analysis tool used was the MANOVA test which is used to analyze two dependent variables (mathematical literacy and numeracy abilities) simultaneously. Then used the t-test of two independent and dependent samples. The research sample was class XI at one of the public high schools in the city of Bandung, consisting of 2 classes. The results showed that the achievement and improvement of mathematical literacy and numeracy abilities jointly owned by students in the two learning groups showed a significant difference. The conclusions obtained in this study were: (1)there were differences in achievement and improvement in mathematical literacy and numeracy abilities simultaneously between students who received the PBL learning model using TPACK and a scientific approach; (2)there was no difference in increasing mathematical literacy abilities between students who get the PBL learning model using TPACK and scientific; (3)there was a difference in increasing mathematical numeracy abilities between students who get the PBL learning model using TPACK and scientific.

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has brought significant changes to the field of education, particularly in the teaching and learning of mathematics. The growing demand for AI integration in education calls for immediate action to equip both students and teachers with the necessary understanding and skills. However, initial analysis indicates that the majority of students and teachers at the partner school still lack a clear understanding of how to effectively utilize AI in the learning process. This community service activity aimed to enhance the understanding of vocational high school (SMK) students in utilizing AI technology to support more interactive and effective mathematics learning. The program was conducted in the form of a training session at SMKN 1 Cihampelas, involving 80 students. The implementation methods included the delivery of basic AI concepts, demonstrations of AI-based applications (such as ChatGPT, Photomath, and MathSolver), as well as hands-on practice and discussion sessions. Evaluation results showed that students responded positively, with 77% demonstrating an understanding of AI application in mathematics learning. This activity is expected to serve as an initial step toward the sustainable integration of AI technology in the vocational school environment

Abstract

Secara umum penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui terdapat atau tidaknya hubungan antara self-confidence siswa dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa pada materi lingkaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survey dengan teknik korelasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Negeri di Kota Bandung. Sedangkan sampel penelitiannya sebanyak 35 orang yang ditetapkan secara purposif pada salah satu SMP Negeri di Kota Bandung. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini berupa instrumen tes dan nontes, adapun instrumen tes sebanyak 6 soal untuk menganalisa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa sedangkan instrumen nontes sebanyak 25 skala pernyataan yang digunakan untuk menganalisa self confidence siswa dalam pembelajaran matematik. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini adalah secara signifikan Self-confidence siswa pada pembelajaran matematika berpengaruh secara positif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa. In general, the purpose of this research is to find out whether there is a relationship between students’ self-confidence and students’ mathematic problem-solving skills. The method of this research is a survey method with a correlation technique. The population of this research is students of a state junior high school in Bandung. While the sample of this research is 35 students which is decided by purposif sampling in a state junior high school in Bandung. The instruments in this research are test and non-test instruments, in which test instrument consists of six questions to analyze students’ mathematic problem-solving skills, while the non-test instrument consists of twenty-five scale statements which are used to analyze students’ self-confidence in mathematic learning. The conclusion of the result of this research is significantly, confidence in mathematic learning influences students’ mathematic problem-solving.

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah siswa SMK membutuhkan suatu keahlian, kemampuan atau kecakapan untuk mengaplikasikan setiap kompetensi termasuk kecakapan matematis dalam dunia kerja. Kecakapan matematis dinilai sangat penting dan dibutuhkan dalam meningkatkan kualitas dirinya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat hasil analisis kesalahan siswa SMK dalam menyelesaikan soal kecakapan matematis pada materi bangun ruang. Subyek yang digunakan adalah 5 orang siswa kelas XII di SMK TI Pembangunan Cimahi. Bentuk pengambilan data yaitu pemberian soal tes dengan indikator berbeda pada setiap butir soal. Penelitian ini merupakan sebuah studi pendahuluan. Dari rekapitulasi perhitungan yang telah dilakukan, didapat bahwa persentase kesalahan yang paling banyak dilakukan siswa yakni 80 % pada indikator adaptive reasoning (penalaran adaptif), dimana siswa masih melakukan kesalahan dilihat dari aspek konseptual sebesar 30%, aspek prosedural juga 30% serta aspek teknik 20%. Sedangkan persentase kesalahan yang paling sedikit dilakukan siswa yakni 20 % pada indikator procedural fluency (kelancaran prosedural), dimana siswa tidak melakukan kesalahan dilihat dari aspek konseptual, tetapi pada aspek prosedural melakukan kesalahan 10% serta aspek teknik juga 10%. The purpose of this study was analyzing the answers of Vocational students on a mathematical proficiency test in three-dimensional geometry. The subjects of this study were 12th-grade students in SMK TI Pembangunan Cimahi. The data obtained from giving a test with indicators of students' mathematical proficiency that is different in each item question. This is a preliminary study. Based on the recapitulation of the results in the analysis and calculations that have been made, it was found that the most percentage of errors made by students is 80% on adaptive reasoning indicators, where students still make mistakes seen from conceptual aspects by 30%, procedural aspects also 30% and technical aspects 20%. While the least percentage of errors is 20% on procedural fluency indicators, where students do not make mistakes on conceptual aspects, but on procedural aspects and technical aspects make mistakes of 10%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh self confidence terhadap kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa SMP. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu metode korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini yaitu sebanyak 30 siswa disalah satu SMP di Kota Cimahi, instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini antara lain tes dan non tes. Tahap yang dijalani dalam penelitian ini siswa diberikan angket self confidence yang terdiri dari 42 pernyataan, pengisian soal tes kemampuan koneksi matematis, analisis data dan terakhir pengambilan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh bahwa self confidence siswa memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan koneksi matematis yaitu sebesar 36,9% dan 63,1% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar self confidence siswa.
