Abstract

Most of the railway facilities use steel as the constituent material. The method of joining (joining methods) of steel materials, especially in the railroad industry, the most widely used is the welding technique (welding) so that knowledge of the welding process is very important for welding enginers and metallurgists as well as for designers, fabricators, users of welding results. The purpose of this study was to determine the tensile strength of the joint resulting from the friction welding method with variations in the shape of the forging surface and preheat temperature. The shape of the forging surface is 8 mm, 10 mm and 12 mm. Variations in preheat temperature of 200 C, 400 C and 600 C. The results showed the highest tensile strength of the friction weld joint with an average tensile stress value of 407, 48 MPa on the forging surface shape of 12 mm and a preheat temperature of 600 C. And the tensile strength of the joint The lowest friction welding with an average tensile stress value of 120 MPa on the forging surface shape of 8 mm and a preheat temperature of 200 C. Abstract

One of the railway facilities uses stainless steel as the main construction material. The method of joining stainless steel materials, especially the most widely used is the SMAW welding technique. The purpose of this study was to determine the tensile strength of SMAW welding joints on stainless steel 304 material with variations in diameter of rod filler as filler material an d variations in current from DC inverter electric welding machine. The diameter of rod filler as filler material is 1 mm, 2 mm and 3 mm. The variation of the current of the DC inverter of the electric welding machine is 70 A, 100 A and 120 A. The results show the highest tensile strength of the 304 stainless steel welded connection with an average tensile stress of 34.48 MPa on the current electric welding inverter. 120 A is used and the diameter of the rod filler is 2 mm. And the tensile strength of the welding connection of the 304 stainless steel material is the lowest with an average tensile stress of 17.01 MPa at the electric welding inverter current used is 70 A and the diameter of the rod filler is 3 mm.Keyword: SMAW welding, filler, current and stainless steel

Abstract

Abstract Railway components especially for parts of that often occur friction and resist when there is a pulling or pushing must have a low roughness to reduce the occurrence wear caused by frictioning and as an indicator good or bad quality of a product. The purpose of this study is to know the effect of roughness level of cutting parameter variation, wet process manufacturing method variation, dry process and nose radius variations of chisel lathe 0.4, 0.8 in the ST 90 The method used in this study is experimental. The independent variables in this study were variations in cutting parameters, nose radius of the tool, and working methods. In cutting parameters, spindle rotational speed (540 Rpm, 800 Rpm, 1500 Rpm), feed speed (0.226 mm/revolution), depth of cut (2 mm) and for nose radius using 0.4 mm and 0.8 mm, there are also variations in wet working methods. process and dry process. After testing is carried out, it shows that on the ST 90 with the wet process working method and nose radius 0.8 turning variation with spindle rotation speed of 1500 Rpm, depth of cut 2 mm, feed speed 0.226 mm/rev has a roughness value of 2.625 µm. Meanwhile, for the highest level of roughness, using the dry process method and chisel nose radius 0.4 with a turning speed of 540 Rpm, a cutting depth of 2 mm, a feed speed of 0.226 mm/rev having a roughness value of 9.223 µm. Abstract

Daop 2 Bandung is one of the train operational areas where each station has a signaling system to maintain safety and regulate train operations so that they remain effective and efficient. This research aims to determine the maintenance planning system for the Type T84M Wesel Drive Motor using the RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) method in Daop 2 Bandung. The method used is RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) which focuses on secondary data in the form of historical data on disturbances on the T84M draft motorbike which is used to calculate maintenance time intervals based on the results of data distribution for each component according to the RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) method. The research results show that the appropriate maintenance tasks for wesel motor components are scheduled disposal tasks and scheduled restoration tasks. The T84M draft motorbike has a reliability value of 43.2% and an availability value of 99% and the recommended maintenance interval for the T84M draft motorbike is 3 days.

Abstract

An innovative solution for low-emission and environmentally friendly freight transport is the Rollende Landstraße (ROLA) train. Research at the Indonesian Railway Polytechnic (PPI) in Madiun conducted dynamic simulations to analyze safe operating speeds when crossing minimum curved tracks with a radius of 42 meters to prevent derailment. The simulation results show that the optimal speed limit for ROLA transport is 14 km/h for fully loaded trucks, 17 km/h for half-loaded trucks, and 19 km/h for unloaded trucks. This speed must be maintained constantly when passing through curves to ensure safety and comfort.
