Abstract

Daop 2 Bandung is one of the train operational areas where each station has a signaling system to maintain safety and regulate train operations so that they remain effective and efficient. This research aims to determine the maintenance planning system for the Type T84M Wesel Drive Motor using the RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) method in Daop 2 Bandung. The method used is RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) which focuses on secondary data in the form of historical data on disturbances on the T84M draft motorbike which is used to calculate maintenance time intervals based on the results of data distribution for each component according to the RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) method. The research results show that the appropriate maintenance tasks for wesel motor components are scheduled disposal tasks and scheduled restoration tasks. The T84M draft motorbike has a reliability value of 43.2% and an availability value of 99% and the recommended maintenance interval for the T84M draft motorbike is 3 days.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of standard language in realizing effective communication between train facilities and infrastructure crews in carrying out their duties and functions for the creation of professional rail transportation mode services. Qualitative descriptive research methods that describe sociolinguistic conditions in the field of railway transport operators, as far as the observed knowledge that communication is used by the crew of facilities and infrastructure in carrying out their duties Observation, interview, and documentation techniques are carried out to determine the ability to use communication standards in the form of standard language and the implementation of effective communication of facilities and infrastructure crews in serving train travel Engineering Data analysis through the stages of reduction, presentation of data and drawing conclusions. The results of this study illustrate that good and correct mastery of Indonesian still needs to be improved and the use of standard language in train facilities and infrastructure crews still has limitations on the ability to use standard and non-standard types of words, both functionally the variety of standard language and standard sentence requirements. The goal of effective communication can be realized if between the communicator / sender of the message and the communicant / receiver of the message can carry out the message conveyed correctly without having to follow a standardized conversation pattern, although sometimes it does not follow the conversation pattern or recommended communication procedures following the technical guidance guidelines contained in the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

Abstract

Corrosion is one of the main problems that can reduce the quality and service life of steel materials in the railway industry, especially on train roofs made of SS400 mild steel. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of adding natural inhibitors from corn cob ash to epoxy primer paint in inhibiting the rate of corrosion and increasing the adhesive strength of the paint. The inhibitor was made through a process of extracting silica from corn cob ash and mixing it into the primer paint at various concentrations. Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR) testing was used to identify the silica content in the inhibitor, while testing was carried out on the adhesive strength using an adhesion tester and the corrosion rate using the weight loss test method in HNO₃ solution. The results showed that the addition of corn cob ash inhibitor formed a protective layer on the metal surface, improved paint adhesion, and significantly reduced the corrosion rate. This study demonstrates that the use of agricultural waste such as corn cobs as a natural inhibitor is an innovative, economical, and environmentally friendly solution for controlling corrosion in steel materials in the railway industry.
