Students and teachers have to plunge into the new world in which they must adapt to the new pattern of education. Both of them, like it or not, should immerse in digital world, in the sense they have to acquire technology to run teaching learning process by virtual. For this reason, it is necessary for the team of Community Service (PkM) of Muhammadiyah University of Prof. Dr. Hamka to participate in supporting teachers’ teaching learning process at SMK Muhammadiyah 15 Jakarta to equip them with the knowledge of selecting the appropriate digital media for better teaching. Therefore, this training started with a questionnaire, recognizing learning problems, selecting suitable digital media and putting them in a research proposal. The results of training show that the teachers are able to recognize learning problems, select the appropriate digital media, and put them in a research proposal. Through the post-questionnaire, the teachers realized the importance of selecting suitable digital media for virtual teaching in the time of online learning.

The Community Service (PKM) activity was done in collaboration with Muhammdiyah Elementary School 3 Matraman, East Jakarta with the total participants involved 15 teachers. The problems faced by teachers in this school are their lack of conceptual understanding of assessments based on High Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) and the weak ability of teachers in making evaluation sets that meet the HOTS standards themselves. The HOTS evaluation criteria have been set in Curriculum 13 where this curriculum is a nationally applicable curriculum in Indonesia. The training approach uses an interactive-communicative approach which is reflected in all stages of training; the discussion, practice, and presentation stages. The implementation of community service activities was carried out in online for 3 days. The discussion material is related to the HOTS concept where teachers were trained and guided to make their respective questions according to the concepts that have got a day before. This mentoring activity is focused on increasing the knowledge and ability of teachers to make evaluation sets containing HOTS content. Therefore, in this PKM activity, teachers were given theoretical and practical knowledge through training and guidance in the preparation of assessment according to their subject. The result of this training and mentoring is felt to be very useful for teachers and it is revealed from the results of the questionnaire where teachers have been able to analyze the samples of formative and final test whether they have fulfilled the criteria of HOTS or not.

This study aims to explicitly investigate how teachers’ attitudes comprising cognitive, affective, and behavioral components influence students’ motivation in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms in Indonesia. The study employed a quantitative, correlational design and involved 300 senior high school students from grades X to XII around Jabodetabek. The participants were selected using convenience sampling techniques. Data were gathered using a structured four-point Likert scale questionnaire adapted from validated instruments: for teacher attitude and for student motivation. Analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. The findings reveal that teachers’ attitudes significantly influence students’ motivation (R² = 0.388; β = 0.623; T = 12.205; p < 0.000). The results underscore the importance of fostering a supportive, respectful, and emotionally intelligent teaching atmosphere to increase student engagement in EFL learning. These findings contribute to theory building in the Indonesian EFL context and offer practical implications for teacher training programs.

This study investigates senior high school students’ perceptions of Canva as an interactive digital learning tool and its relationship with their motivation to learn English. Although previous studies have reported the educational benefits of Canva, limited research has specifically examined how students’ perceptions of Canva relate to their English learning motivation among senior high school EFL learners. Employing a quantitative descriptive-correlational design, the study involved 204 students who had experience using Canva in English learning activities. The study is grounded in the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), which explains how users’ perceptions of a technology influence their acceptance and use of digital learning tools. Data were collected through structured questionnaires adapted from the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ). The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression. The findings revealed that students generally held positive perceptions of Canva, particularly in terms of its usefulness, ease of use, and engagement. The correlation analysis showed a strong positive relationship between students’ perceptions of Canva and their English learning motivation (r = 0.677, p < .001). Furthermore, the regression analysis indicated that students’ perceptions of Canva significantly predicted their motivation, explaining 45.8% of the variance (R² = 0.458). These findings suggest that Canva can serve as a meaningful digital learning medium for enhancing students’ motivation in English learning. The study also extends the application of the TAM by demonstrating that students’ positive perceptions of Canva are associated with higher English learning encourage teachers to integrate interactive digital tools such as Canva into classroom activities to create more engaging, creative and student-centered learning experience.
