Abstract

The understanding of pregnant women about exclusive breastfeeding as evidenced by Exclusive breastfeeding is breastfeeding from birth until the child is 6 months old. During this period children are not expected to get additional fluids, such as formula milk, lemon juice, tea water, honey, and plain water. In exclusive breastfeeding, children are also not given additional food such as bananas, biscuits, rice porridge, teams, and so on. Exclusive breastfeeding for up to 6 months can meet the needs of children, and requires additional food at the age of over 6 months (Maryunani, 2012). The role of midwives in promoting exclusive breastfeeding can be started from the time the mother is pregnant. When pregnant women check their pregnancies, pregnant women will get information about the benefits of breastfeeding and how to successfully breastfeed when their babies are born (Atik, 2016). The role of a good midwife will increase a good understanding for pregnant women about exclusive breastfeeding 37.9%, and there is an influence between the role of midwives and the value of PV value 0.003. Pregnant women make antenatal care visits at least 4 times during pregnancy to the midwife or to the nearest health facility so that they get clear information about exclusive breastfeeding. For health workers to be more intensive in conducting home visits to check on mothers' pregnancies as well as providing counseling on exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

Background: Adolescents are a vulnerable group at risk of engaging in risky sexual behaviors such as premarital sex, which can negatively affect their reproductive health and future. Effective preventive measures are needed, one of which is counseling through a peer group approach. Purpose: To determine the effect of the deep talk counseling method through peer groups on the prevention of premarital sex among adolescents. Method: Quasi-experimental research using a one-group pre-posttest method, conducted from July to August 2025 in Bangun Sari Village, Medan. The sampling technique used total sampling with a sample size of 20 participants based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The independent variable in this study was deep talk counseling, while the dependent variable was the prevention of premature sexual activity. Data analysis used univariate in the form of frequency distribution and bivariate using the Paired Sample T-Test. Results: The paired t-test showed an increase in the score for preventing premature sexual activity from 55.3 ± 6.2 in the pre-test to 78.6 ± 5.8 in the post-test. P-value=0.000 (p<0.05) indicates a significant difference, thus confirming the effectiveness of the Deep Talk counseling intervention by the Peer Group. Conclusion: The success of this method can be attributed to the role of peer discussion in creating a comfortable atmosphere, mutual trust, and facilitating the internalization of positive values. The peer group-based Deep Talk method is recommended as an effective educational strategy in efforts to prevent promiscuity among adolescents.   Keywords: Deep Talk; Peer Group; Sex; Teenagers.   Pendahuluan: Remaja merupakan kelompok rentan yang berisiko terlibat dalam perilaku seksual berisiko seperti hubungan seksual pranikah yang dapat berdampak negatif pada kesehatan reproduksi dan masa depan mereka.
