Abstract

Background: The condition of Indonesian nurses in the Sabah Hospital Kuwait shows symptoms of nurse work stress, while the quality of service for health care facilities needs to be maintained and improved by strengthening individual, environmental and organizational factors towards optimizing the positive response of performing nurses.Purpose: To determine individual, environmental, organizational and work stress factors as well as to determine the influence of individual, environmental and organizational factors on the work stress of Indonesian nurses in Kuwait.Method: A descriptive cross-sectional observational design with multiple linear regression analysis and using a sampling technique with a total sampling of 65 nurses who work at Al Sabah Hospital in Kuwait.Results: This shows that individual factors are in the Moderate category and have an effect of 9.6% on nurses' work stress. Environmental factors are in the Moderate category and have an effect of 23.3% on the work stress of nurses. Organizational factors are in the Moderate category and have an effect of 12.7% on the work stress of nurses. The work stress of Indonesian nurses is in the Moderate category at 75.38%, high at 1.54%, and in the low category at 23.08%.Conclusion: There is a significant influence of 45.6% between individual, environmental and organizational factors on the work stress of Indonesian nurses in Sabah Hospital Kuwait while the rest is influenced by other factors.Suggestion: Hospitals need to design workshops or training programs on individual coping mechanisms and work stress management on a regular basis, organizational strengthening and upgrading of the work environment according to changing needs of the times at least every 6 months to 1 year, reporting nurses' work stress and conducting family meetings for nursing. minimize and relieve work stress at least once every 1-2 years.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Patient safety culture is an important factor in efforts to reduce incidents that can stimulate work stress for nurses. The implementation of a patient safety culture is carried out to protect nurses as health service providers and patients as recipients of health services from management errors and injuries resulting from interventions into comprehensive, fair, open, learning and informative reporting, so that work stress can be controlled. This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of patient safety culture on the work stress of nurses at the Kuwait Police Hospital. This research is a quantitative pre experimental design with a one shot case study design. The research sample consisted of 45 nurses using the total sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. The analysis used is a simple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the implementation of patient safety culture went well and very well at 66.4%. The work stress of nurses showed a high level of work stress of 42.2%, but the rest of the work stress levels of 57.8% of nurses had moderate and low levels of work stress. The results showed that there was an influence of 37.4% between the implementation of patient safety culture on the work stress of nurses at the Kuwait Police Hospital. The results of this study are expected to be information for hospitals to further improve patient safety culture and need to design workshop programs or training on coping mechanisms and work stress management on a regular basis as well as implement family gatherings of nursing. Keywords: Patient Safety Culture, Nurse, Work Stress  ABSTRAK Budaya keselamatan pasien merupakan faktor penting dalam upaya mengurangi insiden yang dapat menstimulasi stres kerja perawat. Pelaksanaan budaya keselamatan pasien dilakukan untuk melindungi perawat selaku pemberi pelayanan kesehatan dan pasien selaku penerima pelayanan kesehatan dari kesalahan tatalaksana maupun cidera akibat intervensi menjadi pelaporan komprehensif, berkeadilan, terbuka, pembelajaran dan informatif, sehingga stres kerja dapat terkendali. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh antara implementasi budaya keselamatan pasien terhadap stres kerja perawat di Rumah Sakit Kepolisisan Kuwait. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif pre eksperimental design dengan rancangan one shot case study. Sampel penelitian adalah perawat berjumlah 45 perawat dengan menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel total sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis uji regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi budaya keselamatan pasien berjalan baik dan sangat baik sebesar 66,4%. Stres kerja perawat menunjukkan tingkat stres kerja yang tinggi sebesar 42,2%, akan tetapi sisanya tingkat stres kerja perawat sebesar 57,8% memiliki tingkat stres kerja yang sedang dan rendah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh sebesar 37,4% antara implementasi budaya keselamatan pasien terhadap stres kerja perawat di Rumah Sakit Kepolisian Kuwait. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi informasi bagi rumah sakit untuk lebih meningkatkan budaya keselamatan pasien dan perlu merangcang program workshop atau pelatihan mekanisme koping dan manajemen stres kerja secara berkala serta penerapan family gathering of nursing. Kata Kunci: Budaya Keselamatan Pasien, Perawat, Stres Kerja
