Abstract

The philosophy of science clarify the existence of science to the other science that requires knowledge as a medium of thinking and means of scientific communication. These are language, logic, mathematics, statistics, and other data analysis techniques. Specifications and independency science faced by the increasing number problems that can not be answered by science, therefore, philosophy appears as the answer. Philosophy gives an explanation or an answer onthat problems substantial and radical, while the science continues to develop it self- in its limit , while still radically criticized, process or the interaction basically is a field of philosophy of science. Philosophy of science therefore can be put as an attempt to bridge the gap between the philosophy and science, so that science does not despise the philosophy, and the philosophy does not see science as a superficial understanding of nature . Reality is “what is naturally “ or existence , while the appearance is that “artificially real“. Also how the relationship to both with subject /human. Epistemology is considered synonymous with the theory of knowledge. At the present time theory of knowledge can not be ignored. Epistemology of education science related to know how science education obtaining gain processing, what is the procedure to get the true scientific knowledge. Axiologiy related to what is the advantages of science education, what ethical relationship with science and its application science education in daily life . Key words : the philosophy of science, education, ontology, epistemology, axiology.

Abstract

This research entitled “Pronunciation Errors Made by the Fourth Semester Students of English Department of UINSU”. The aims of this research is to find out the characteristics of errors commonly occur in English pronunciation errors and the causes of errors made by the fourth semester students of English Department at FKIP of Universitas Riau commonly. This is a descriptive qualitative that analyzed about pronunciation errors include vowels, consonants, diphthongs, which pronounced by the fourth semester students of English Department of F. In conducting this research, the group of population was selected to be a participant by using purposive sampling. There were 78 population and only 39 students as the participants. The test was taken in audio recording. After analysing the data, from the three aspects that writer analyzed it was found some data and concluded that pronunciation error were made by the fourth semester students of English department of Universitas Riau in high error. There were was error in vowel 82.05 %, consonants with 41.02 % and diphthong 38.46 %.

Abstract

Peer review is a well-known technique for raising students' writing standards. By evaluating the peer-review process, this study goes beyond its initial focus on results. This study specifically focuses on the timing of peer review, a highly organized feedback form, and student writers' changes following peer review. According to the research, these techniques assist students provide formative input to their classmates, drive them to start writing earlier in the semester, and motivate them to significantly edit their drafts before turning in their final papers. This study highlights how crucial it is to evaluate the peer-reviewing procedure. This conclusion was obtained after examining students' replies on a questionnaire that included closed option (multiple choice) questions as well as open-ended comments on the same three aspects of the impact of peer review: critical thinking, collaborative work, and composition quality. This study is based on Vygotsky's sociocultural approach and supports and broadens earlier research on the subject by providing a more in-depth and comprehensive viewpoint. Participants who have utilized this methodology comment on its advantages and/or disadvantages.
