Abstract

Fertilizing is one of strategy to improve crops productivity because it provides nutrient for the plant. This paper aims to analyze the implementation of fertilizing technology for field rice. The study was conducted from May-July 2012 in four districts that were North Bengkulu, Central Bengkulu, South Bengkulu and Kepahiang. Data was collected by survey method using questionnaire to 261 respondents. Statistic analysis using Chi quadrate was used to analyze most frequent fertilizer farmer use. The study showed farmers prefer five fertilizers. The implementation of these five fertilizers was varied.majority of respondents (95%) used urea. The second preferred fertilizer was NPK (67.8%), followed by TSP (59.7%), KCL (46.3%) and organic fertilizer (34.8%). Implementation of organic fertilizer was highest in Kepahiang and South Bengkulu that also show highest land productivity

Abstract

Red chili is one of national strategic commodity, can affect the rate of inflation and is needed by all levels of society. Pest attack often makes low production and the high demand makes price of chili is very high. The aim of this study was to determine the application of pest management technology in farming chili crop in the highlands Province of Bengkulu. The research was conducted in Rejang Lebong and Lebong purposively determined by number of respondents as many as 62 people were taken by random sampling. The results showed an average score of application of crop pest management technology red chili is 2,38 meaning that the overall implementation of technology is not good. 37,5% reduction technology implementation pepper plant pests and diseases in the category is not good that the use of biological pesticides, use of trap insect, and growing border. 37,5% are categorized either using labeled seeds, sanitary land and land preparation is perfect. 25% excellent category that is sprayed with chemicals and use black plastic mulch silver.

Abstract

Corn-SoybeanJajar legowoisone way to maximize an agricultural land productivity with limited land and cost conditions. The purpose of this study was to estimatethe profitability and feasibility of corn monoculture farming and legowointercropping system of corn -soybean system in Seluma District. Survey of 28 cornmonoculture and4 corn-soybeanLegowo system were conducted to collect data on cost and production incurred in their farming activities.. The results of this study indicate that costs incurred by farmers who apply the jajar legowo corn -soybean system increase from Rp. 7,810,000 to Rp. 10,662,490. However, the difference in costs incurred is followed by differences in income or profits from farming, i.e.,Rp. 6,189,333 for corn farming and Rp. 11,848,510 for corn-soybean jajarlegowointercropping–system. Corn-soybean legowo is relativelyefficient with a B / C ratio of 1.83

Abstract

Farmer cooperatives are legal entities whose existence is very important to increase the bargaining position of farmers in the agribusiness system on an agricultural commodity development area. This study aims to identify the citrus development area and analyze farmers' responses to cooperative formation in citrus development area in Rejang Lebong Regency. The study was conducted from February to April 2019 with primary data collection through interviews and surveys and supported by secondary data. Interviews were conducted to identify areas of citrus development. While the data collected in the survey are farmer characteristics (age, formal education, non-formal education, number of family dependents, area of garden ownership) and farmers’ responses to cooperative. The farmers’ response variable is a response to the cooperatives formation, cooperative forms, cooperative membership, service time, and cooperative management, which are measured using a Likert scale. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and inferentially using Spearman Rank correlation. This study concluded that the citrus development area in Rejang Lebong Regecy was in accordance with the Decree of the Rejang Lebong Regent Number 180.60. II Year 2018 which meets the requirements of Minister of Agriculture Regulation 18/2018 is only in Pal 7 Village, Bermani Ulu Raya Subdistrict. The citrus farmer’s response to the cooperative formation is positive. The response was significantly positively related to the area of garden ownership.
