Abstract

This study aims to: describe the practice of implementing knowledge management in the management of the Jurnal Pustaka Ilmiah Journal, and to find out what activities are oriented towards increasing the culture of sharing knowledge in the management of the Jurnal Pustaka Ilmiah Journal. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. Data collection was carried out using interview, observation and documentation methods. The informants in this study were the managers of the current and previous Jurnal Pustaka Ilmiah Journal, amounting to 4 people. The data presented in a narrative format and equipped with supporting pictures in several parts. The findings of this study are that Jurnal Pustaka Ilmiah Journal’s human resources was still very limited, but have a strong commitment. Jurnal Pustaka Ilmiah Journal was led by an egalitarian leadership style. Communication between managers is carried out over various media both synchronously and asynchronously. Institutions play a role in providing material-immaterial support in this matter even though the intensity is still limited to ceremonial. Meanwhile, the learning process in managing Jurnal Pustaka Ilmiah Journal found that managers did not hesitate to try new things to improve the quality of journal management. The success of the knowledge transfer process is not the success of the journal manager alone, but rather needs to get support from various elements, such as the participation of parent institutions which is not limited to ceremonial to create a strong and professional management. This will have implications for increasing the confidence of readers and writers in Jurnal Pustaka Ilmiah as a credible reference in the field of library and information sciences.

Abstract

Research purposes is analyze and describe the Effect of Professional Development of Librarians on Career Development of Librarians at Hasanuddin University. This research is quantitative. The research subject is Hasanuddin University librarian. Determination of respondents using purposive sampling method. The number of respondents was 48 civil servant librarians. Collecting data through the distribution of questionnaires and documentation. Descriptive statistical data analysis and multiple linear regression. The study found that partially only the innovative work of librarians affected the career development of librarians at Hasanuddin University. Meanwhile, self-development and scientific publications do not affect the career development of librarians at Hasanuddin University. Then simultaneously self-development, scientific publications and innovative works affect the career development of librarians at Hasanuddin University. Barriers to librarians in professional development are the lack of motivation of librarians; less confident; less focus; ability or knowledge and skills; limited time due to work; less productivity due to environmental factors; limited budget and forum for professional development activities; lack of attention and appreciation from the leadership or agency. Meanwhile, the lack of opportunity and narrow insight is not an obstacle. Furthermore, the obstacles for librarians in career development are lack of strength or ability, feeling satisfied with the position they have, lack of cooperation or a supportive network in their environment. Meanwhile, unsure of the librarian's competence, lack of responsibility such as lazy, likes to be late, often not in the office; lack of strength or ability; lack of information is not obstacle for librarians in career development activities.

Abstract

Pustakawan merupakan jabatan fungsional yang melakukan pekerjaan profesional terkait kegiatan kepustakawanan yang mencakup pengelolaan perpustakaan, pelayanan perpustakaan dan pengembangan sistem kepustakawanan. Pustakawan saat bekerja dan berkarya didorong untuk membangun diri memberikan pelayanan terbaik kepada pemustaka. Melalui penyediaan sumber bacaan dan memberikan layanan kepada pemustaka untuk dapat memenuhi kebutuhan informasi secara optimal. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan pustakawan dengan memproduksi abstrak. Abstrak sebagai literatur sekunder berfungsi sebagai media penghubung antara sumber bacaan dengan pemustaka, sehingga memudahkan pemustaka dalam menentukan sumber informasi untuk dibaca secara utuh atau tidak. Selain itu abstrak menjadi alat untuk mencapai efektivitas dalam kegiatan membaca sumber-sumber informasi seperti: buku teks, majalah, dan karya-karya ilmiah lainnya. Pustakawan yang produktif membuat abstrak berdamapak pada eksistensi dan profesionalitasnya dalam jabatan fungsionalnya dan terpenuhinya sumber bacaan intelektual yang dibutuhkan pemustaka.

Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan dan mengetahui: (1) kompetensi Pustakawan dalam ekosistem digital; (2) deskripsi kegiatan tata kelola jurnal elektronik “best practice” Pustakawan; (3) tantangan Pustakawan sebagai manajer penerbitan jurnal elektronik; dan (4) upaya Pustakawan sebagai produsen pengetahuan. Sumber data kajian ini adalah studi literatur. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif-kualitatif. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa Pustakawan perlu melakukan peran kolaborasi tata kelola jurnal ilmiah dalam peningkatan perannya untuk menjadi produsen pengetahuan. Dalam berkolaborasi, Pustakawan dituntut memiliki kompetensi tata kelola jurnal ilmiah yang memadai seperti mampu mengelola naskah, mengelola publikasi ilmiah, mengemas produk pengetahuan, berkomunikasi, dan inovatif dalam layanan publikasi di Perpustakaan. Sebagai rekomendasi, lembaga pembina Pustakawan dan asosiasi profesi Pustakawan perlu mengkonsep kebijakan nasional dan mengadvokasi tetang pentingnya kegiatan tata kelola jurnal ilmiah untuk peningkatan karir Pustakawan dan praktisi Perpustakaan.

Abstract

Librarians have a significant role in publishing scientific journals. But on the one hand, scientific journals are also a means of ensuring the availability of research data for the public. This study aims to identify the policy of openness of research data and the efforts that can be made by librarians in scientific journals ranked SINTA 1 in the UGM environment. The research method used is qualitative research. The research was carried out in September 2022. Data collection techniques were in the form of virtual interviews, observation, and information retrieval on journal websites. Analysis and presentation of data was carried out descriptively based on coding according to the research objectives. The results obtained show that most of the scientific journals ranked SINTA 1 at UGM have a policy of openness to research data. Three journals that involve librarians in scientific journal activities are Indonesian Journal of Geography, Indonesian Journal of Chemistry and ASEAN Journal on Science and Technology for Development. The efforts that can be made by librarians are to be actively involved in the management of scientific journals, to be involved in the formulation of research data policies, and to be active in disseminating the importance of openness of research data in scientific journals. The conclusion hows the policy of openness of research data in scientific journals, especially at Gadjah Mada University has become an inseparable part that must be stated in the journal policy. Librarians as managers of scientific journals as well as information managers can play an active role in making research data openness policies.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the professionalism of librarians in utilizing the use of information and sharing information to support and develop digital libraries (E-Library). Research methods. This study uses a qualitative method based on rationalism. This study uses an analysis by looking at “morals and character based on rationalism. The data collection is based on literature, observations, and social media sources relevant to this research.” Results and Discussion. The moral movement is the main key to working librarian loyalty in information literacy, supported by the principles of interoperability towards the rules and code of ethics of librarians. Digital library linkage integration, linkage, and collaboration. Integration and linkage between various data formats in large quantities and distributed through global telematics networks. Conclusions and recommendations." Professional librarians must strive to improve their mastery of science and technology as well as information, as well as in the completion and conduct of librarianship tasks, one of which is to support the usefulness of e-libraries. Moral is related to character, philosophy of "kindness" for librarians who can develop the science of "librarianship".

Abstract

The management of scientific journals in order to achieve national accredited scientificjournals requires an effective and efficient Journal Management and ManagementSystem. Management and Management Systems This journal should refer tothe instruments and criteria required by the accreditation of national journals andinternational indexing agencies. Periodical Manager of Library and Information Sciencehas implemented most of the instruments and criteria set out in accordance withthe Director General of Hig. Periodical Manager of Library and Information Sciencehas implemented most of the instruments and criteria set out in accordance with theDirector General of Higher Education Directive No. 1 2014 on Guidelines for Accreditationof Scientific Periodic Issue. In addition BIP managers are actively following thedevelopment related to the management of journals by attending workshops, training,mentoring, electronic journals governance grants, accreditation of scientific journals,journal indexation. Armed with genuine efforts and willingness Periodic Library andInformation Sciences managed to qualify to achieve accreditation status as the firstaccredited library of science journals in Indonesia with Decree No. 51 / E / KPT / 2017valid for five years ahead of the period 2017-2022.
