Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the performance of intersections and provide solutions to problems that occur at the intersection of Emmy Saelan – Maluku street, and Wolter Monginsidi street – Tj. Karang street and Emmy Saelan street – Tj. Manimbaya street. The analysis included road performance, existing conditions and predictions over the next 5 years by calculating the average crossing delay based on the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (MKJI)1997. From the results of research on the existing conditions DS = 1.24 crossing delay of Emmy Saelan street – Maluku street 55,89 det/smp that is in LOS E, intrection of Wolter Monginsidi – Tj. Karang street value of DS = 1.09 and corssing delay = 24.32 det/smp that is in LOS C and intersection of Emmy Saelan street – Tj. Manimbaya value of DS = 1.06 and crossing delay = 22.60 det/smp that is in LOS C. So it requires handling of the problem of intersections in the future, the first solution is to make the road median from intrection service levelof W. Monginsidi street – Tj. Karang street up to intrection of Emmy Saelan street – Anoa II street, with a median opening at the point before the bridge. Value of DS = 0.57 dan crossing delay of Emmy Saelan street – Maluku street = 10,16 det/smp that is in LOS B, intrection of Wolter Monginsidi street – Tj. Karang street value of DS = 0.76 dan crossing delay = 12.29 det/smp that is in LOS B and intrection of Emmy Saelan – Tj. Manimbaya street value of DS = 0.41 and crossing delay = 8.12 det/smp that is in LOS B.

Abstract

Population growth is increasingly demanding economic growth accompanied by the need for transportation as facilities of movement person and goods. The increase of transport it is not balanced with the right policies will cause various problems appertain the increasing number of motorized vehicles that has an impact on the environment, namely increasing air pollution. Exhaust emissions from motorized vehicles originating from fossil fuels make impact the environment. Various studies on transportation models have been developed by many researchers, various transportation models can also estimate emissions from motorized vehicles included MOVES and IVEM. The aim of this study is to analyze whether there are differences between the results of the emission estimation model in the MOVES and IVEM programs. The method used is using a driving cycle, where the vehicle is tracking on the highway using GPS second per second. Tracking is carried out on the Perintis Kemerdekaan road with a starting point of KM 7.75 to the end point of KM 13.12 as well as for the opposite direction. Tracking done at peak hours of 7-10 am, 11-14 noon, and 11-14 afternoon. The results showed that the concentration of Nox emissions was higher in the MOVES model data analysis than the IVEM model, as the CO emission concentration in the morning and evening was higher in the MOVES model and the CO emission concentration during the day was higher in the IVEM model. Statistically with the t test, the result is 0.13 where the result of the CO concentration for the MOVES and IVEM models are the same and for the t test the NOx concentration is 0.008 that the results of the analysis of the IVEM and MOVES models for NOx are not the same.

Abstract

Street of Karanja Lembah is a provincial road linking Palu City and Sigi Regency. After a visual survey, the road has suffered a lot of damage, especially on its surface. The purpose of this study was to determine the pavement condition values based on the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method and the Present Serviceability Index (PSI) method, as well as to determine the type of road handling based on the PCI and PSI values obtained on these roads. The PCI method is carried out directly by dividing the road into several segments called segment units, then recording the type of damage, the dimensions of the damage, and the severity of the damage for each type of damage. In research using the PSI method, the PSI value was calculated using IRI (International Roughness Index) data obtained from the Highways Service of Central Sulawesi Province. From the results of the analysis, it was obtained that the average PCI value for Jalan Karaja Lembah was 79.95% with a "very good" pavement condition, while the average PSI value for Jalan Karaja Lembah was 2.13% with a pavement condition "moderate". For the right type of handling for the PSI and PCI methods, namely the type of periodic maintenance.

Abstract

Central Sulawesi is one of the main producers of Quarry C, which is processed into crushed stone in crushed stone factories (stone crushers). The number of crushed stone factories operating in the area between Palu-Donggala City is around forty units. The production of crushed stone factories apart from 1-2" and 2-3" crushed stone also contains smaller sized stone ash. This rock ash has a much smaller economic value so it is often not utilized and becomes waste at factory sites. Stone ash with the characteristics of a small specific gravity, even lighter than natural sand, has considerable potential to be used as a building material. It just needs research and testing before being used. Because it has a fine gradation and a small specific gravity, its potential can be used to make lightweight bricks, wall rosters and paving blocks. Apart from that, it is still possible to use it as a filler in asphalt concrete mixtures and aggregates for lightweight concrete. The initial tests required in the laboratory are: sieve analysis and compressive strength tests of bricks, paving blocks and rosters. The test results showed that there was an increase in compressive strength values for both bricks, paving blocks and roofs. The compressive strength value of brick with the addition of stone ash complies with SNI requirements and is included in category A, Paving Block is included in category A for road use, as well as roster there is a significant increase in the compressive strength value.

Abstract

Limited land area and cross-sectional of steel profiles make planners have to choose the type of structure that is effective and efficient. Variations in the type of subgrade during an earthquake will give a different response to the structure which ultimately determines the dimensions of the structural elements. This study aims to determine the behavior of gable frame structures with variations in spans, number of portals and site classes. Modeling is done with variations of portal spans of 8, 24, and 30 m. The second variation is the number of portals, namely 1, 2 and 3 portals with a span of 24 m. The 3rd variation is in the form of class sites (hard, medium and soft soil) with a span of 2x24 m. The behavior analyzed is the base shear force, roof displacement and the demand to capacity ratio of the column and rafter. The 18 m span uses the IWF profile 200x150x6x9, the 24 m span uses the 300x150x6.5x9 profile and the 30 m span uses the 350x175x9x12 profile. The ratio of demand to capacity respectively for the column structure is 0.1909; 0.2560 and 0.2494 for spans of 18, 24 and 30 m. In the variation of the number of portals, it was found that designs 1, 2 and 3 had a Demand-Capacity Ratio value of 0.687 for rafters; 0.639 and 0.638 while in the column obtained respectively 0.713; 0.873 and 0.915. The design of the number of portals 1, 2 and 3 has a maximum deviation value of 68,699; 78,364 and 82,462 mm. In terms of serviceability, it shows a larger deviation and increases its capacity in resisting bending and compression. The results of the analysis of the 3 models with variations in soil sites show that hard soil, medium soil and soft soil have base shear force values of 205,163 kN, 337,883 kN, and 269,899 kN and the maximum deviation at the top of the building is 61,981 mm, 102,079 mm, and 37,642 mm.

Abstract

Columns are one of the structural elements that greatly influence the behaviour of the structure. Columns are capable of holding axial compression loads and transmitting them to the structural elements below. Column capacity can be increased by the confinement of lateral reinforcement/stirrup. The stirrups function to maintain the compressive strength capacity of the concrete column before and after spalling. Advances in software technology have had a very significant impact on the development of structural element analysis methods, including software based on the Finite Element Method (FEM), Abaqus/CAE Student Edition. It can also simplify several laboratory research of Civil Engineering into a simulation. However, in simulation practice, parameters in the form of material data are needed as input. To get the same behaviour between the test object and the simulation, convergent parameters are needed. The parameters to be analyzed are CDP (Concrete Damage Plasticity) plastic parameters. While the simulation for loading, shape of the test object, and placement refers to the results of previous studies. The reinforced concrete column test model used consists of 5 (five) different variations of stirrups. The results of the simulation show that reinforced concrete columns with stirrups provide support in the form of shear force capacity that can maintain the value of the axial compressive strength capacity. From the five existing test models, it was obtained that the increase in the value of the axial compressive strength capacity of the column due to the variation of stirrups for column B, column C, column D, and column E to column A (without stirrups) were 115%, 120%, 121%, and 119% consecutively. The output values from the analysis include the diagrams of axial force and displacement, column interaction diagrams, and material stress-strain diagrams
