Abstract

Introduction. Kidney failure is a case that continues to increase globally. Kidney failure patients require renal replacement therapy as an effort to improve the patient's condition. Hemodialysis therapy is an option that is often used as renal replacement therapy in patients with end-stage renal failure. Hemodialysis therapy not only provides a level of life expectancy for patients, but on the other hand it can have an impact on changing the patient's health condition holistically and can affect the patient's quality of life. Objective. The study aims to determine the relationship of holistic health assessment to the quality of life of hemodialysis patients at Palembang Hospital. Methodology. The study used a cross sectional design with a total sampling method of 51 respondents. The instruments used in this study were the Dialysis Symptom Index (DSI) and DF 36. Analysis of the results of the data used the Pearson test. Results. Based on the results of the SPSS analysis, the value of r = -0.428 and pvalue 0.002 (p <0.05) was obtained, which means that there is a relationship between holistic health assessment and quality of life in hemodialysis patients at Palembang Hospital. Discussion. Based on the results of the study, there is a negative relationship between holistic health assessment and patient's quality of life. This means that patients undergoing hemodialysis tend to experience health problems both physically and psychologically which can have an impact on reducing the patient's quality of life.

Abstract

Introduction: Disasters are events or series of events that threaten and disrupt people's lives and livelihoods caused by both natural and/or non-natural factors and human factors. Fire disasters are one of the disasters that often occur in Indonesia, especially in big cities like Palembang. Fire prevention can actually be done by increasing public awareness of the dangers of fire. Communities must be able to anticipate from an early age the potential threat of fire in their respective environments, by preparing themselves to face the threat of fire. The use of virtual reality is one way of providing education about emergency response to fire disasters because it is interesting and like stimulation that feels real. Objective: to determine the effect of virtual reality on students' knowledge about emergency response to disasters in buildings. Method: Pre-experimental research using one group pretest posttest design. The sample was selected using probability sampling using the consecutive sampling method, a total of 38 students at the IKesT Muhammadiyah Palembang dormitory. The research instrument used a video about emergency response to fire disasters in buildings and a virtual reality box, as well as a knowledge questionnaire. Results: Based on data analysis using the Wilcoxon test, it was found that the p value was <0.05 with a median value before 45 and after 70. Conclusion: There is an influence of virtual reality on students' knowledge about emergency response to disasters in buildings

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting is a global problem that continues to occur today. The prevalence of stunting worldwide reaches 22.0% or 149.2 million people. Indonesia is one of the countries facing a triple burden in nutritional status with one of the highest stunting incidents in Southeast Asia. It is recorded that the current incidence of stunting in Indonesia has reached 21.6% in 2022, while the target to be achieved is 14% in 2024. According to SDGI data in 2022, the number of stunted toddlers in South Sumatra is 18.6% and Palembang 14.3% of toddlers experience stunting. The causes of stunting are due to lack of nutritional intake in mothers during pregnancy, economic problems, illness in infants, lack of nutritional intake in toddlers, and poor sanitation. Therefore, efforts are needed, one of which starts from the smallest unit in society, namely the family. Efforts to increase family awareness about preventing stunting are through providing education. Objective: to determine the BEGESAH (Various Healthy Community Movement Education) Based on Local Wisdom on Awareness of Stunting Prevention. Method: Quasy experimental study with control group design. The sample was selected by probability sampling with sequential sampling method of 35 people, namely mothers. The intervention group was given a booklet and educational video on stunting prevention, while the control group was not given. The research instrument used a questionnaire on knowledge and attitudes about stunting prevention. Results: Based on data analysis with a paired t-test, both the intervention group and the control group showed a significant p value <0.05. However, when viewed from the significance of the p value, the intervention group has a higher significance than the control group. Conclusion: There is an effect of BEGESAH on family awareness of stunting prevention.
