Abstract

This study aims to develop learning media so that it can be tested for feasibility, effectiveness, and practicality. This research was conducted using the Research and Development method. To determine valid and reliable learning media, a feasibility test was carried out by experts' assessment, and practicality according to students as users, then limited field trials used True Experimental Design with Simple two group research design Pre and Post Design. With the study population, namely students in class XII, the competence of expertise in Metal Fabrication and Manufacturing Engineering at SMK Negeri 7 Semarang consists of an experimental class and a control class, each class containing 30 students. The feasibility test results show that the media is very feasible to use. Data analysis used the t-test and N-Gain. Based on the results of the analysis it can be concluded that interactive learning media CAM milling machining is feasible to use, practicality tests in the very practical category are used and are more effective for improving student learning outcomes in learning CAM milling machining with an increase the average value is higher than the increase in the average value in the control class.

Abstract

This study develops an e-module to address low student learning outcomes in the subject Milling Machine Parts Functions in vocational education. Observations showed that 36.1% of class XI TPM 1 and 37.0% of class XI TPM 2 scored in the low range (56–65), indicating difficulty understanding this core material. The issue stems from conventional lecture-based teaching and static textbooks that limit engagement and conceptual grasp. Using the Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), the study involved expert validation through CVR/CVI and a quasi-experimental Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. A Mann Whitney-Test confirmed that the e-module significantly improved learning outcomes, with the Normalized N-gain (N-gain) reaching the High effectiveness category. By integrating 3D visuals and animations, the e-module created an engaging, contextual learning experience that enhanced students technical understanding and readiness for industrial demands.

Abstract

This study aimed to conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of essay test instruments used in the daily assessment of the Learning Planning and Microteaching course. This research employed a descriptive method with an item analysis approach. The subjects of this study were fifth-semester students of the Automotive Engineering Education Study Program, while the object of the study consisted of 15 essay items used in the daily assessment of the Learning Planning and Microteaching course. The study was conducted on September 25, 2025, involving 20 student respondents. Qualitative analysis of the test instrument was carried out by an expert to detect and correct weaknesses in the material, construction, and language aspects so that the instrument is valid in content and objective before being used. Quantitative analysis of test instruments is the process of testing the quality of test instrument items to determine item discrimination, Level of difficulty, and external validity reliability. The results showed that, based on the qualitative analysis, all items met the criteria for material, construction, and language aspects. However, the quantitative analysis, including difficulty index, discrimination index, validity, and reliability, indicated that several items required revision. Items 11 and 12 need revision because they showed weaknesses in validity, although their difficulty and discrimination indices were still acceptable. Meanwhile, items 2, 5, 8, 14, and 15 require more substantial revision or replacement because they have poor discrimination power. Overall, the essay test instrument can be considered moderately feasible, but it still requires improvement before being used as a strong formative assessment instrument.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the use of flipbook-based e-modules in improving student learning outcomes in the material of understanding the function of fresh machine parts in the Machining Engineering Expertise Program of SMK Negeri 1 Karangawen. The study employed a nonequivalent control group design and a quantitative, quasi-experimental methodology. Twenty-five students from the experimental class and twenty-five from the control class made up the research sample. Observation, documentation, expert validation, and learning outcome tests in the form of pretests and posttests are utilized to acquire data. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, normality test, homogeneity test, independent sample t-test, and N-Gain analysis. The experimental class's average posttest score was 92.88, which was greater than the control group's mean of 73.12. Furthermore, the N-Gain analysis revealed that the experimental class had an average increase in learning outcomes of 85.64% in the high category, compared to 45.14% in the medium category for the control class. These findings suggest that using flipbook-based e-modules can enhance students' comprehension and learning outcomes about the functional content of the milling machine's components.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the use of e-modules on the learning outcomes of understanding tapered turning students of the Machining Engineering Expertise Program at SMKN 1 Semarang. The study uses a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental methods and nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of an experimental class that used e-modules and a control class that used conventional learning. Data collection is carried out through tests, observations, and documentation. Data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, independent sample t-tests, and N-Gain analysis. The results of the study show that the e-modules developed meet the criteria of validity and reliability and are effectively used in learning. There was a significant difference in learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class. In addition, the increase in student learning outcomes in the experimental class was in the high category. Thus, the use of e-modules is effective in improving learning outcomes to understand tapered lathes and can be used as an alternative digital learning media in the Machining Engineering Expertise Program.

Abstract

The low understanding of students in the competence of Machining Engineering expertise on the function of fresh machine parts is often caused by the learning process that is still dominated by conventional methods and the use of print modules that are less interactive. This study aims to analyze the feasibility level of e-modules, test the improvement of students' Phase F knowledge learning outcomes, and analyze the effectiveness of the application of e-modules compared to conventional lecture methods and print modules. This study is a quasi experiment with a nonequivalent control group design. The subjects of this study are students of class XI of Mechanical Engineering at SMK Negeri 1 Semarang, which are divided into experimental groups and control groups. The data collection instrument used an expert validation questionnaire for e-module feasibility and test instruments (pre-test and post-test) to measure cognitive achievement. Based on the results of the expert assessment analysis, the e-module was declared valid with a CVR value of ≥ 0.75 and a CVI of ≥ 0.78, and was considered reliable with a percentage of agreement of 90%. The effectiveness test through N-Gain proved that experimental classes using e-modules experienced an increase in learning outcomes of 78.63% (high category) with an average post-test score of 70.00. In conclusion, the application of e-modules for the function of fresh machine parts is very feasible and has proven to be significantly more effective in improving students' knowledge learning outcomes compared to conventional learning media.
