Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis logam-logam serta kadarnya di dalam sampel daging Kerang Darah (Anadara granosa) dan Kerang Bulu (Anadara antiquata) asal laut teluk Lewoleba kabupaten Lembata propinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur.  Kedua jenis kerang tersebut hidup di Pulau Siput (Awololong) yang ada di tengah kawasan laut Teluk Lewoleba.  Masyarakat Lembata menjadikan kedua jenis kerang tersebut sebagai lauk pauk serta sumber pendapatan ekonomi.   Perlu dilakukannya analisa cemaran logam berat di kawasan laut Teluk Lewoleba melalui kedua jenis kerang tersebut sebab aktivitas manusia telah semakin meningkat di kawasan teluk Lewoleba Lembata. Sebanyak 100 gram masing-masing sampel daging Kerang yang kering, didestruksi dan dianalisis kandungan unsur-unsur serta kadar unsur, menggunakan spektrofotometer X-ray Fluorescence (XRF). Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu sampel Kerang Darah mengandung unsur-unsur serta kadarnya yakni: P (10%), S (12%), K (12%), Ca (23%), Cr (0,32%), Fe (2,6%), Ni (0,2%), Cu (0,62%), Zn (20,6%), Br (3,4%), Mo (14%) dan Yb (0,9%). Sampel Kerang Buluh mengandung;  P (11,0%), S (1,0%), K (11,7%), Ca (39,2%), Cr (0,62%), Fe (8,95%), Ni (0,4%), Cu (0,49%), Zn (2,4%), Br (1,4%), Mo (22%) dan Yb (0,3%) dan Re (0,5%). Tampak kedua jenis sampel mengandung logam berat esensial berupa Cu, Fe, Zn dan Ni, serta mengadung Cr yang bersifat toksik.  Kadar Cr pada sampel Kerang Buluh lebih tinggi dari Kerang Darah.  Sampel Kerang Buluh mengandung pula unsur Re yang merupakan jenis unsur tanah jarang. Kadar logam berat Cu, Ni dan Cr pada kedua sampel melampaui ambang batas menurut Keputusan Mentri Lingkungan Hidup Republik Indonesia nomor 51 tahun 2004Kata Kunci: daging kerang, logam berat, laut teluk LewolebaABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the types of metals and their levels in the samples of Blood Clams (Anadara granosa) and Feather Shells (Anadara antiquata) from the sea of Lewoleba Bay, Lembata district, East Nusa Tenggara province. Both types of shellfish live on Slug Island (Awololong) in the middle of the Lewoleba Bay marine area. The people of Lembata use the two types of shellfish as side dishes and a source of economic income. It is necessary to analyze heavy metal contamination in the marine area of Lewoleba Bay through these two types of shells because human activities have been increasing in the Lewoleba Bay area of Lembata. A total of 100 grams of each sample of dried mussel meat, was destroyed and analyzed for the content of elements and levels of elements, using an X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) spectrophotometer. The results obtained were that the Blood Shellfish sample contained the following elements and levels: P (10%), S (12%), K (12%), Ca (23%), Cr (0.32%), Fe (2 .6%), Ni (0.2%), Cu (0.62%), Zn (20.6%), Br (3.4%), Mo (14%) and Yb (0.9%) . Reed Shells samples contain; P (11.0%), S (1.0%), K (11.7%), Ca (39.2%), Cr (0.62%), Fe (8.95%), Ni ( 0.4%), Cu (0.49%), Zn (2.4%), Br (1.4%), Mo (22%) and Yb (0.3%) and Re (0.5% ). It appears that both types of samples contain essential heavy metals in the form of Cu, Fe, Zn and Ni, and contain Cr which is toxic. The Cr content in the Reed Shells samples was higher than that of Blood Clams. The Reed Shells sample also contains the element Re which is a type of rare earth element. Heavy metal levels of Cu, Ni and Cr in both samples exceeded the threshold according to the Decree of the Minister of the Environment of the Republic of Indonesia number 51 of 2004. Abstract

Although the current situation is relatively conducive, a new problem has emerged in the form of a decrease in students' comprehension and understanding of their learning, as happened at GMIT Naioni Elementary School and Tiga Putera Elementary School. It was found that third and fourth graders had difficulty understanding Science due to limited interaction, incomplete explanations, and difficulties in reading texts. Using a focused group discussion approach with the main objective of looking at the attitudes, beliefs, and reactions of respondents more holistically, this service activity is carried out. It can be seen that this activity went well marked by the enthusiasm of the students when competing. Some students who have difficulty reading are helped by the teacher and the committee team, resulted in presenting well in front of the judges. Moreover, a conducive and competitive learning climate is created when students look at the trophy with burning ambition. In conclusion, this service activity was successful. It can be seen from the third and fourth grade students of SD GMIT Naioni and SD Tiga Putera’s enthusiasm and motivation to compete and participate in the science script reading competition as well as the understanding of science that is starting to form, by the skills of the students when telling stories of the script quickly and precisely. Abstract

This community service activity titled "Training in Production and Marketing of Healthy Snacks 'Wajik Jagung' Made from Local Ingredients (Zea mays)" aims to (1) Process maize (Zea mays) into a healthy snack 'Wajik Jagung' and market it to increase community income. (2) To serve as an alternative innovation in the processing and utilisation of the agricultural products of the villagers into value-added products. The specific objective to be attained from the implementation of this activity is to improve the welfare of the community, namely the Bethel Indonesia Church community. The method of implementing this activity is process skills. The procedure for the implementation of this activity is: strengthening meeting of activity plans with activity partners to be carried out directly, preparing facilities and infrastructure as well as materials for the implementation of activities, and the implementation of production activities. Healthy snack 'Wajik Jagung' is the product to be produced. These activities are carried out at GBI Bunga Bakung. Corn owned by GBI Bunga Bakung community is the raw material for production. The production of a technology for processing corn into healthy snacks is the output of this activity.

Abstract

Abstract: The process of extracting secondary metabolite compounds from plants through extraction. One of factor that influences the success of extraction is the type of solvent used. This study aims to determine the effect of solvent type on the contents of secondary metabolite compounds and the antioxidant activity of Lino (G. koordersiana Burret) bark extract. This research began with taking lino bark samples, extraction, phytochemical screening, content analysis and antioxidant activity tests. The research results showed that the yields for ethanol, methanol, ethyl acetate and n-hexane extracts were 42.15%, 41.65%, 0.98% and 0.62%, respectively. The phytochemical test results of ethanol and methanol extracts contain alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolics, triterpenoids, saponins and tannins. Meanwhile, ethyl acetate extract contains phenolics, triterpenoids and tannins and n-hexane extract contains triterpenoids. The results of analysis of secondary metabolite on the contents for ethanol, methanol, ethyl acetate and n-hexane extracts showed different results. Antioxidant activity test results for each ethanol, methanol, ethyl acetate and n-hexane extract with different IC50 values. Antioxidant activity of ethanol, methanol and ethyl acetate extracts has antioxidant activity in the very strong category. Meanwhile, n-hexane extract has antioxidant activity in the inactive category. The results showed that the type of solvent affected the levels and antioxidant activity of secondary metabolite compounds from Lino (G. koordersiana Burret) extract.

Abstract

This article examines the importance of entrepreneurship for housewives in Fatukoa village, one of the areas undergoing rapid development in terms of housing, commercial premises, government offices and schools. Through training in the production of value-added food products such as brownies, nastar and blossom tofu, the study aims to stimulate entrepreneurial interest among the target group. The method used is PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal), which involves the active participation and involvement of the target participants and activity partners. The results show that the products produced are marketed at affordable prices and are in demand by consumers. It is concluded that this community service activity has been successful in terms of increasing the knowledge, skills and income of the target group and has had a positive impact on food development in Fatukoa village.

Abstract

Indonesia memiliki kekayaan sumber daya alam khususnya sumber daya geologi berupa batu mulia. Salah satu daerah dengan kekayaan alam berupa batu akik (agate) adalah Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara (TTU) Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur. Sisa kerajinan batu permata atau batu akik merupakan limbah yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber silika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelarut terhadap struktur nanopartikel silika darii limbah batu akik. Metode penelitian ini yaitu isolasi silika diawali pencucian dengan HCl 4 M. Selanjut sintesis natrium silikat dengan penambahan NaOH 4 M, kemudian sintesis nanosilika menggunakan pelarut metanol dan etanol pada pH 12. Nanosilika dikarakterisasi dengan XRD, SEM-EDX, BET-SAA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pelarut metanol dan etanol berpengaruh terhadap struktur nanopartikel silika. Hasil analisis XRD nanosilika sintesis menggunakan pelarut metanol dan etanol menunjukkan silika gel berfasa amorf. Hasil analisis FTIR nanosilika sintesis menggunakan pelarut metanol dan etanol menunjukkan adanya gugus silanol dan siloksan. Morfologi nanosilika sintesis menggunakan pelarut metanol dan etanol diperoleh nanosilika ukuran partikel yang tidak homogen dan membentuk gumpalan (aglomerasi). Hasil analisis EDX nanosilika sintesis menggunakan pelarut metanol dan etanol mengandung unsur Si dan O. Hasil analisis BET nanosilika sintesis menggunakan pelarut metanol menunjukkan luas permukaan, ukuran pori dan volume pori masing-masing adalah 207,559 m²/g, 2,921 nm dan 0,303 cc/g. sedangkan nanosilika sintesis menggunakan pelarut etanol adalah 1,664 m²/g; 11,843 nm dan 0,0099 cc/g. Semakin polar palarut semakin besar luas permukaan dan volume pori. Sedangkan diameter pori semakin kecil. Mengacu aturan IUPAC silika gel hasil sintesis menggunakan pelarut metanol dan etanol diperoleh struktur pori berukuran mesopori.

Abstract

High school students in Indonesia, in today's development, have a final assignment before completing their senior secondary education, namely conducting scientific research, writing up research results and presenting them. General conditions show that female students still have difficulty conducting research which includes research ideas or topics, steps for conducting research and writing research results. In response to this condition, research training was created for class The method used is competition. Female students are invited to conduct research, collect data and analyze data in their respective places of residence during the holiday period. As a result of the activities obtained, as many as 35 female students took part in the competition. It appears that the participants dug up information, conducted interviews with sources, namely parents in the villages, then wrote down the results of their studies and pictures of traditional medicinal ingredients.  From the results of the competition, a scientific seminar was held with the theme; Traditional Medicine of the NTT Community; Chemical Content and Activity. The top four competition participants were selected as presenters, and discussed by Natural Materials Chemistry experts in the scientific seminar forum. It was concluded that through research competitions and seminars, it had become a means to train female students to carry out scientific research in their living environment, related to traditional medicine and present their research work.

Abstract

The G. koordersiana Burret plant, especially its bark, is used by the Sumba community to treat wounds, ulcers, and liver. This study aims to determine the effect of solvent types on the antibacterial and cytotoxic activity of G. koordersiana Burret extract. The research methods used were maceration method, antibacterial test, and cytotoxic test of G. koordersiana Burret bark extract. The results showed that the yield of ethanol, methanol, and n-hexane extracts were 42.15%; 41.65%; and 0.62%, respectively. Ethanol and methanol extracts had antibacterial activity against E. coli and S. aureus bacteria, while n-hexane extract did not show antibacterial activity against both bacteria. Cytotoxic tests showed that the LC50 values ​​of ethanol, methanol, and n-hexane extracts were 61.35 ppm; 758.58 ppm; and 2,494,181.19 ppm, respectively. Ethanol and methanol extracts had antibacterial activity and were toxic, while n-hexane extract did not show antibacterial activity and was not toxic. The antibacterial and cytotoxic activities of ethanol and methanol extracts showed the presence of secondary metabolite compounds of the alkaloid, phenolic, flavonoid, tannin, triterpenoid, and saponin groups, while n-hexane extract contained triterpenoid compounds that had no inhibitory power against bacteria or cytotoxic activity.
