Abstract

The purpose of the research is to know about how much increasing of student achievement who applying an interactive module for lighting system and wiring electricity competence at SMK Nusantara 1 in Comal. The method of the research is true experimental design, and the design for the research is control group pre-test post-test. Research was started with pre-test and ended with post test. The result of the data analysis shows that experiment class have a different learning achievement with control class. Average value for the experiment class achieves 8,48, while the control class achieves 7,21 in which lower achievement from the experiment class. There is difference of student learning achievement between experiment and control class. Learning achievement for the experiment class higher than control class, because there is applied interactive module for experiment class at their learning. Generally, the student learning achievement shows that study which applying interactive module has a better learning achievement than study which applying conventional module.

Abstract

Learning condition and situation at schools now need severe teachers performance so that they are not out of date in applying ICT for the sake of education. The application of ICT in education will only be slogan and rhetoric if there are no any serious actions. One of them is the teacher should be a front guard/starter at school. The research problems: (1) how is the grand design of the developed ICT training? (2) how is the effectiveness of the development result-model?. The research findings: (1) the developed ICT training model design is the Innovative Dick-Carey (IDC) model  which is developed by combining Dick-Carey, BPTKIP, and LPMP models, (2) as the final model result, through the t-test, the IDC training model is very effective to improve teachers performance in learning process. It is suggested that every school should provide educational infrastructures which can give more chances to ICT to be implemented in learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to find the management model of competency test implementation so industrial market will acknowledge the test certificates obtained by vocational high school (SMK) graduates. The study employs a Research and Development (R & D) without implementing the whole steps of R&D. The research begins with the preliminary step and then continues with FGD I in order to fix model I, then the model I become model II, and then model II ended by FGD II to be the model II which is validated by the experts and practitioners upon its feasibility. These procedures are conducted considering the research finding related to a policy change is hard to be implemented. The results of the study show that one validator assesses the model as “quite feasible to be implemented”. Four validators conclude that the model is “feasible to be implemented”. Five validators categorize the model as “very feasible to be implemented”. The measurement of the model validity is 84.6%. Therefore, the competency test model " 10 months online” is very feasible to be implemented. This outcome is well-embraced by the FGD participants. Based on interviews researchers with industry the findings of this research  was  good and the model is easy to implement. Likewise, internal assessors opinion this model is a new innovation and feasible. This study concludes that the competency test model of "10 months online " infeasible and provides a great opportunity for the industry to be involved in assessing the competency test because it is administered on Saturday and Sunday within 10 months. The involvement of industry world is expected to have a positive impact, i.e. the graduates are easier to get a job.
