Abstract

Abstract

The increasing use and use of electricity in Indonesia causes the potential for greater losses in the transmission and distribution system. This causes many problems that arise, one of which is the corona in the transmission and distribution system. Corona mapping can only be detected through several ways, namely sound, light and distinctive smell. In this thesis, the aim is to detect the corona with the characteristics of a distinctive sense of smell, then the results of the detection are compared with the calculated corona losses. This distinctive odor is the smell of ozone which is produced from ionization at high voltage with the surrounding air, namely oxygen to form ozone molecules that are not permanent. The metal electrode to be tested is the copper tip metal. After testing the voltage of the appearance of the corona occurs at 7kV, high voltage when testing the tip of the copper metal point at a voltage of 21 kV is greater than the corona losses. The greater the voltage, the greater the corona losses generated.

Abstract

Currently, Southeast Asia's highest primary energy usage is in Indonesia. Electrical infrastructure like transmission and distribution will be directly responsible for the high energy use. More distribution electrical networks will be in place due to the growing demand for electricity. So, the more significant the electrical disruptions that arise. Corona is one type of electrical disruption in the medium voltage network system. Corona is caused by a partial release of electrical charge, meaning the charge does not entirely pass through both conductors. The surrounding air experiences dielectric stress, producing noise, purple light, and a characteristic smell. Corona's appearance may seriously affect electrical equipment. Additionally, there are other ways to identify the appearance of corona, including using the senses of sight, smell, and hearing. The hearing approach involves utilizing a sound-capable sensor to detect corona. By taking pictures of the location of the corona, one can use sight to detect it. On the other hand, an ozone gas sensor is used in the scent approach. The author attempted to use the method of scent in this investigation. An ozone sensor will record corona disruptions that occur at the delivery site. Oxygen can be broken down into ozone because the air around the corona may ionize the surrounding air.

Abstract

A Currently, Indonesia is facing a demographic bonus, namely that the productive age is greater than the non-productive age. When entering a productive age, a person's standard of living will increase. Several studies have stated that the higher a person's standard of living, the greater their electricity needs will be. The need for electricity is currently a primary need; from waking up to resting, a person must use a lot of electricity, especially in big cities. If that happens in the future, there will definitely be more use of electricity needs. Indonesia's biggest challenge is to develop and increase a reliable and clean electricity supply. The solution is the development and application of New and Renewable Energy (EBT). The author tried to make a prototype of a Wind Power Plant (PLTB) on a small scale with tests with and without loads. The test results indicate that with a constant wind speed of 25 m/s, the results of the test without a load showed a stable voltage at 12.48 volts. When given a load of 3W, 6W, 9W, 12W, 15W, 18W, and 21W. The current value also changes with a lower light intensity.

Abstract

Wind power generation systems, wind speed has a significant impact on generator performance. Variations in wind speed can affect the reliability, efficiency, and output power of the system. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between changes in wind speed and generator performance, including energy conversion efficiency, output current, and output voltage. The study methodology includes actual measurements on a wind turbine-based generation system. The findings show that while higher wind speeds tend to increase generator output power, generator performance decreases drastically at low wind speeds, which can impact the reliability of electricity supply.
