Abstract

Poverty refers to a person's inability to get a stable livelihood and provide a decent income to support his/her life in a sustainable manner. Poverty is a problem deserving undivided attention in any country. Poverty is triggered by various factors, including low investment levels, high unemployment rates, and slow economic growth. This study aims to: 1) determine the effect of inflation rate and private investment on the unemployment rate; 2) determine the effect of inflation rate and private investment on poverty level; and 3) determine the effect of unemployment rate on poverty level. This study uses time series data from 2012 to 2018 and path analysis. The findings indicate that inflation has a positive effect on unemployment and poverty, and the level of private investment has a negative effect on unemployment and poverty.

Abstract

Maluku Utara telah dikenal dunia sebagai daerah penghasil pala di Indonesia sejak abad ke lima belas hingga saat ini. Kendati sebagai wilayah indigenous pala, sistem penanganan produksi dan pemasaran masih konservatif. Maluku Utara merupakan salah satu daerah penghasil pala terbesar di Indonesia. Belakangan ini pasar permintaan pala semakin meningkat, namun keterbukaan pasar global telah semakin memicu meningkatnya persaingan antar negara pengekspor pala dunia. Sistem penanganan produksi dan pemasaran semakin berpengaruh pada daya saing agribisnis pala, membutuhkan berbagai fasilitas penunjang, serta dukungan para pihak termasuk kebijakan pemerintah Daerah Maluku Utara. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kelayakan usahatani agribisnis pala melalui pendekatan analisis komparatif, kompetitif, serta daya saing. Analisis daya saing difokuskan pada kebijakan pemerintah yang berhubungan dengan peningkatan daya saing komoditi pala. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan analisis kelayakan finansial, analisis ekonomi, dan Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa secara finansial dan ekonomi, agribisnis pala di Maluku Utara sangat layak diusahakan, memiliki keunggulan komparatif dan kompetitif. Adapun intervensi kebijakan pemerintah daerah mempengaruhi tingkat penerimaan petani berdasarkan harga privat dan harga social. Intervensi dalam bentuk subsidi benih, pupuk, dan modal menyebabkan nilai IT lebih besar dari nol dan NPCI lebih besar dari satu menunjukkan bahwa subsidi pemerintah pada sektor input tradable yang selama ini dilakukan pada komoditas pala tidak efektif.

Data analysis in this research uses descriptive qualitative methods in analyzing the data where researchers go directly into the field to obtain data from the beginning to the end of the research. Then the data obtained through interviews with informants is described thoroughly. namely by describing the facts and circumstances that occur in the subject and research information to obtain conclusions. the impact of market relocation in the Central Busness District (CBD) People's Market, Morotai Island Regency, the impact on traders who experienced a decrease in income, the impact of the Central Busness District (CBD) People's Market relocation, resulting in traders experiencing problems in spending business capital. 1. After the market relocation at the Pasar Rakyat Central Busness District (CBD) Morotai Island Regency market, the impact on traders experienced a decrease in income, because the location used for relocation was less strategic, far from residential areas. 2. After the relocation at the Central People's Market market Busness District (CBD) Morotai Island Regency, the impact on traders who have business capital constraints is due to the fact that the number of traders' income has decreased more.

Abstract

Development index, open unemployment rate, and labor force participation rate on poverty. The results of this study show that economic growth, open unemployment rate, and labor participation rate have no effect on the human development index partially or simultaneously. Meanwhile, economic growth, human development index, open unemployment rate, and labor participation level affect poverty partially or simultaneously.

Abstract

The research objectives are to provide an overview of investment potential based on the sectoral classification of West Halmahera Regency and to calculate the business/economic feasibility of several leading sector products in West Halmahera Regency. The type of research data uses quantitative and qualitative data consisting of primary and secondary data. The data analysis technique uses economic feasibility on commodities from potential sectors to be developed so that the analysis used in this research is Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Return on Investment (ROI) and Payback Period (PP). The results showed that based on the analysis of investment potential in West Halmahera Regency, there are great opportunities in three main sectors, namely agriculture, fisheries and tourism. In the agricultural sector, leading commodities such as coconut, nutmeg, cocoa and cloves have significant room for development, especially with the availability of land that has not been fully utilised. The fisheries sector also has great potential with the abundance of marine and inland fisheries resources, although they have not been optimally utilised. In addition, the tourism sector, especially nature and marine tourism, shows promising prospects for further development, especially in the form of ecotourism and cultural tourism that can support regional development. In terms of business feasibility, economic analysis shows that superior products such as coconut, cocoa, and cloves have promising investment values based on economic indicators such as Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period (PP). Overall, products from the agriculture and fisheries sectors in the region are worth investing in, with competitive profit opportunities. Therefore, it can be concluded that West Halmahera Regency has high investment potential in various sectors, with economic viability that supports long-term investment growth.
