Abstract

The learning model is one of the most important things in the learning and learning process. A good learning model will make students more enthusiastic in learning because the model is interesting and effective. The purpose of this study was to analyze the comparison of learning models of problem based learning and problem solving models with student problem solving on cube and block material on the skill process in elementary schools. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with a comparative type. The population of this study was 72 students from two schools, included 40 women and 32 men as students, were the subjects studied. The instruments used are student process skills observation sheets and learning questionnaire models. Data collection techniques used in this study were questionnaires and observation sheets. The data analysis technique used is purposive sampling. The results of the description can be said that based on the T test it can be said that the problem-solving learning model is superior to the problem-based learning model. From the results of the T test for the learning model of students' science process skills, it can be seen that there are differences in the learning model.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the persistence character on the mathematical processing skills of high school students in arithmetic operations. Then, find out the differences in student learning persistence and elementary school math processing skills. This research method uses a mixed practice with an explanatory design. The research sample was grouped into three schools, namely elementary school Basirih 5 from South Kalimantan, elementary school 64 Muara Bulian, and elementary school 131 Muara Bulian from Jambi province, which we will use with a total sample of 60 students—sampling using a simple random sampling technique. The results of data analysis using the independent sample t-test obtained a value of sig <0.05, so it can be said that the character of the persistence of students in each elementary school is different, and for the mathematical processing skills variable sig is <0.05 so that the KPM for each school is different. The results of a simple linear regression test obtained a sig value of 0.025 in the high class of elementary school Basirih 5, elementary school 64, and elementary school 131 Muara Bulian received a sig value of 0.030, where the sig value <0.05, which means that the persistence of character affects the students' mathematical process skills. The conclusion of this study is that learning persistence is an important factor affecting students' mathematical process skills, with the implication that strengthening the character of perseverance can improve mathematical learning outcomes.

Abstract

Mathematical process skills and study persistence are indicators of student learning success. Lack of persistence and mathematical process skills can hinder the distribution of knowledge in the learning process to students. So, it is important to conduct this research to measure the effect of mathematical process skills on students' persistence character. The survey method uses a mixed method with a sequential explanatory design. A simple random sampling technique was used as the sampling method in this study. In this study, hypothesis testing with a t-test and simple linear regression test is used as a method of data analysis. The collection method uses observation sheet research instruments, questionnaires, and interviews. This study found differences in students' mathematical processing skills and persistence in the multiplication and multiplication factor subjects in each elementary school. Furthermore, there is a significant influence between mathematical process skills on the character of student persistence in the thematic learning of the material factors of multiples and numbers. It was concluded that by knowing the effect of students' mathematical processing skills on their persistence character, educators should further maximize the learning process to train students' mathematical processing skills.
