Abstract

Twitter is one of the most popular social media among Indonesian people. Due to the high number of users and the intensity of their use, Twitter can also be used to dig up information related to a topic or product with sentiment analysis. One of the most frequently discussed topics on Twitter is related to movie reviews. Everyone's opinion of movie reviews can refer to different aspects. So, aspect-based sentiment analysis can be applied to movie reviews to get more optimal results. Aspect-based sentiment analysis is a solution to find out the opinions of Twitter users on movie reviews based on the aspects. In this study, a system for aspect-based sentiment analysis was built with a dataset of Indonesian language movie reviews consisting of 3 aspects: plot, acting, and director. The classification model uses Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) method with the application of TF-IDF feature extraction, fastText feature expansion, and handling of imbalanced data using SMOTE. The results of this study for the plot aspect obtained an accuracy score of 74.86% and F1-score of 74.74%, the acting aspect obtained an accuracy score of 94.80% and F1-score of 94.74%, and the director aspect obtained an accuracy score of 94.02% and F1-score of 93.89%.

Abstract

Twitter as one of the social media with the most users in the world, is often used as a medium for sharing opinions that can be positive or negative. Movie reviews containing many complex explanations and judgments will be challenging to classify. Therefore a sentiment analysis process based on aspects is needed to analyze the polarity of film review opinions based on predetermined aspects. This research aims to analyze the polarity of film review opinions based on aspects using the Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory method and GloVe feature extraction. This study uses plot, acting, and director aspects with a total dataset of 17.247 data. Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory is proven to produce relevant and accurate results for sentiment analysis with the greatest accuracy of 56,29% in the plot aspect, 87,07% in the acting aspect, and 85,55% in the director aspect. GloVe feature extraction is proven to increase the performance value of this research by up to 13,57% in the plot aspect, 4,16% in the acting aspect, and 10,48% in the director aspect.

Abstract

Twitter is a popular social media platform that allows users to share short message’s opinion and engage in real-time conversations on a wide range of topics known as tweet. However, tweets often have a complicated and unclear context, which makes it difficult to determine the actual emotion. Therefore, sentiment analysis is required to see the tendency of an opinion, whether the opinion tends to be positive, negative, or neutral. Researchers or institutions can find out how the response and emotions of an issue are happening and make good decisions. With the large user of Twitter social media in Indonesia, sentiment analysis will be carried out using deep learning Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF), Robustly Optimized BERT Pretraining Approach (RoBERTa), Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE), and Global Vector (Glove). In this research, the dataset used is trending topics with hashtags related to government policies on Twitter social media and obtained through crawling. By using 30.811 data, the result shows the highest accuracy of 95.56% using CNN with a split ratio of 90:10, baseline unigram, RoBERTa, SMOTE, and Top10 corpus tweet with an increase 10.1%.

Abstract

Social media platforms are widely used to share opinions, leading to a large growth of text data on the internet. This data can be a key source of up-to-date and inclusive information by conducting sentiment analysis. Typically, sentiment analysis research classifies binary based on the polar values generated. However, this has its limitations, such as classifying sentences containing positive and negative expressions, leading to incorrect predictions. Fine-grained sentiment analysis provides more precise results by associating values with more than two classification targets. The objective of this study is to carry out sentiment analysis at a fine-grained level related to public policy in Indonesia using the GRU-SVM model with feature extraction and expansion techniques. However, sentiment analysis research still faces challenges in NLP. Deep learning have successfully overcome the challenges of traditional machine learning models in terms of efficiency and performance. This study proposes GRU-SVM model. GRU is used because it can adaptively control dependencies, making it more efficient in memory usage, while SVM is used as it is state-of-the-art in sentiment analysis. Result of the study show that the selection of word representation techniques, the addition of feature extraction techniques, datasets, data ratios, and feature expansion are crucial in the model testing process. The GRU-SVM model achieved the best performance with an accuracy of 96.02%. Overall, the results of this study demonstrate that the GRU-SVM method is effective in analyzing sentiments in Indonesian tweets.

Abstract

Cancer is a disease induced by the abnormal growth of cells in body tissues. This disease is commonly treated by chemotherapy. However, at first, cancer cells can respond to the activity of chemotherapy over time, but over time, resistance to cancer cells appears. Therefore, it is required to develop new anti-cancer drugs. Indenopyrazole and its derivative have been investigated to be a potential drug to treat cancer. This study aims to predict indenopyrazole derivative compounds as anti-cancer drugs by using Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) methods. We used 93 compounds of indenopyrazole derivative with a total of 1876 descriptors. Then, the descriptors were reduced by using the Pearson Correlation Coefficient (PCC) and followed by the ACO algorithm to get the most relevant features. We found that the best number of descriptors obtained from ACO is ten descriptors. The ANN prediction model was developed with three architectures, which are different in hidden layer number, i.e., 1, 2, and 3 hidden layers. Based on the results, we found that the model with three hidden layers gives the best performance, with the value of the R2 test, R2 train, and Q2 train being 0.8822, 0.8495, and 0.8472, respectively.

Abstract

Stock investing has become popular among the public. Although this stock investment has significant risks, every year, investors keep increasing because the return from stocks is also quite promising. Social media also supports this stock investing, which can give information extensively and very quickly, so it can affect the stock price. The Efficient Market Hypothesis (EMH) theory defines that market information reflects stock prices. In this research, sentiment analysis uses a dataset crawled from Twitter to process the sentiment into helpful information. All the tweets related to stock prices are collected for sentiment analysis according to the appropriate sentiment type, whether it's a positive or negative sentiment. Many believe that sentiment influences stock price movements. This sentiment analysis process uses a hybrid method named Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (Bi-LSTM) with feature expansion Word2Vec. Afterwards, the hybrid method analysis will establish the final accuracy obtained. This research uses 27.930 data and shows the hybrid CNN Bi-LSTM method result is 95.74%.

Abstract

Twitter is a medium of communication, transmission of information, and exchange of opinions on a topic with an extensive reach. Twitter has a tweet with a text message of 280 characters. Because text messages can only be written briefly, tweets often use slang and may not follow structured grammar. The diverse vocabulary in tweets leads to word discrepancies, so tweets are difficult to understand. The problem often found in classifying topics in tweets is that they need higher accuracy due to these factors. Therefore, the authors used the GloVe feature expansion to reduce vocabulary discrepancies by building a corpus from Twitter and IndoNews. Research on the classification of topics in previous tweets has been done extensively with various Machine Learning or Deep Learning methods using feature expansion. However, To the best of our knowledge, Hybrid Deep Learning has not been previously used for topic classification on Twitter. Therefore, the study conducted experiments to analyze the impact of Hybrid Deep Learning and the expansion of GloVe features on classification topics. The total data used in this study was 55,411 datasets in Indonesian-language text. The methods used in this study are Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), and Hybrid CNN-RNN. The results show that the topic classification system with GloVe feature expansion using the CNN method achieved the highest accuracy of 92.80%, with an increase of 0.40% compared to the baseline. The RNN followed it with an accuracy of 93.72% and a 0.23% improvement. The CNN-RN Hybrid Deep Learning model achieved the highest accuracy of 94.56%, with a significant increase of 2.30%. The RNN-CNN model also achieved high accuracy, reaching 94.39% with a 0.95% increase. Based on the accuracy results, the Hybrid Deep Learning model, with the addition of feature expansion, significantly improved the system's performance, resulting in higher accuracy.

Abstract

Twitter is a popular social media for sending text messages, but the tweets that can send are limited to 280 characters. Therefore, sending tweets is done in various ways, such as slang, abbreviations, or even reducing letters in words which can cause vocabulary mismatch so that the system considers words with the same meaning differently. Thus, using feature expansion to build a corpus of similarity can mitigate this problem. Two datasets constructed the similarity corpus: the Twitter dataset of 63,984 and the IndoNews dataset of 119,488. The research contribution is to combine deep learning and feature expansion with good performance. This study uses FastText as a feature expansion that focuses on word structure. Also, this study uses four deep learning methods: Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU), and a combination of the two CNN-GRU, GRU-CNN classification with boolean representation as feature extraction. This study uses five scenarios to find the best result: best data split, n-grams, max feature, feature expansion, and dropout percentage. In the final model, CNN has the best performance with an accuracy of 88.79% and an increase of 0.97% from the baseline model, followed by GRU with an accuracy of 88.17% with an increase of 0.93%, CNN-GRU with an accuracy of 87.47% with an increase of 1.86%, and GRU-CNN with an accuracy of 87.55% with an increase of 1.32%. Based on the result of several scenarios, the use of feature expansion using FastText succeeded in avoiding vocabulary mismatch, proven by the highest increase in accuracy of the model than other scenarios. However, this study has a limitation is that the dataset is used in Indonesian.

Abstract

Collaborative Filtering is an method used to build a recommendation system with the concept that conclusions from different clients are used to anticipate things that may be of interest to users. This research uses data from Rent the Runway and the method used is Item-based Collaborative filtering, where the system will look for similarities in products that have been purchased by customers and then look for predictive values. Fashion requires recommendations because it plays a crucial role in helping individuals express their identity, personal style, and personality through clothing choices, accessories, and dressing styles. The recommendation system uses the item method based on analyzing the number of purchases or sales and grouping according to each product category so that it can help consumers in choosing fashion products. It was found that the use of Adjusted Cosine Similarity produces better recommendations with an average MAE value of 0.2750, while Cosine Similarity with an average MAE difference of 0.3989. This proves that the use of adjusted cosine similarity can produce better recommendations because the adjustment algorithm not only considers user behavior, but also produces lower performance errors.
