Abstract

Abstract: Exploratory Study of Cigarette Consumption Behavior: Perspective of Motive, Brand and Cigarette Advertisement. This study aims to explore the primary motives of cigarette consumption behavior, opinions related to the cigarette brand and advertisement as well as to identify the expense spent to consume cigarette. This study applied qualitative research. The sources of information were the students of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta who were smokers. The technique of data analysis used in this study was qualitative descriptive. This study found that the reason underlined the respondents smoking, internally, were attempts, while the external factors that drove the respondent smoking were friends and relatives invitation, seeing the parents, joining the smoking environment or neighborhood, and looking cool according to the students. Brand was one of the considerations in choosing the cigarette related to the advertisement. Advertisement dominated by the cigarette producer brought more encouragement to the respondents than public service advertisements about the danger of smoking. The selling price of cigarette was also the main consideration by the respondent to smoke. The monthly expense spent for smoking was considerably high. Keywords: motive, cigarette consumptions, brand, advertisementAbstrak: Studi Eksplorasi Perilaku Konsumsi Rokok: Perspektif Motif, Merek, dan Iklan Rokok. Kata-kata kunci: Motif, Konsumsi Rokok, Merek, Iklan

Abstract

This study explores the impact of various types of innovation—organizational, process, product, and business model innovations—on the financial performance of firms in Yogyakarta's creative industry. The research employs Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze data collected from 57 creative industry firms. The findings indicate that organizational innovation significantly enhances process and business model innovations, which in turn positively affect financial performance. However, the direct impact of organizational innovation on product innovation is not significant, suggesting the need for a more integrated approach to foster product development. The study highlights the essential of innovative practices and adaptive business models in driving financial success in the creative industry. These insights are crucial for managers and policymakers aiming to boost the financial performance of creative firms through strategic innovation.

Abstract

The creative industry faces challenges in balancing the need for standardization with the need for creativity. Standardization can improve efficiency and quality, but if it is too rigid, it can hinder creativity. This study uses the systematic literature review (SLR) method  to explore this balance and its impact on financial performance. From the 18 articles analyzed, it was found that the implementation of flexible and adaptive quality management can improve efficiency without limiting creativity, and companies that manage to maintain this balance tend to produce better financial performance. Effective strategies include the development of adaptable quality standards, collaboration between human resources, and continuous feedback systems

Abstract

This paper aims to develop an optimized solution for the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP), tailored explicitly for Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) distribution, with a focus on minimizing transportation costs and enhancing delivery reliability. The critical role of LPG as an essential public infrastructure commodity, widely utilized for cooking and heating, makes its efficient and reliable distribution a significant logistical challenge due to the strict adherence to delivery time windows, heterogeneous fleets, multi-trip scenarios, and intricate loading and unloading requirements. To address these complexities, this study proposes a novel hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization and Genetic Algorithm (HPSOGA) that uniquely integrates multi-trip routing, time windows, and heterogeneous vehicle fleet management into a single optimization framework. The dual-phase optimization strategy leverages the exploratory capability of PSO and the solution-refining power of GA, resulting in high-quality, feasible solutions. Validation against real-world data involving VRP instances with 88 and 40 stations demonstrates the model’s practical impact, achieving reductions of up to 4.56% in transportation costs compared to existing operational routes. This research makes a significant contribution to interdisciplinary domains, including logistics optimization, sustainability, and energy distribution, by offering a robust and scalable model that comprehensively addresses complex, real-world VRP constraints.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of quality management and financial management on innovation strategy and its impact on business sustainability, with ethnic communities as a moderating variable. The method employed is Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) based on higher-order constructs. Data were collected from 237 small business owners of the Madurese ethnic community in Yogyakarta. The results indicate that financial management significantly affects innovation strategies, which ultimately support business sustainability. Innovation strategies were found to be a crucial mediator in this relationship. Moreover, ethnic communities strengthen the relationship between innovation strategies and business sustainability through their social networks and cultural values. This study offers theoretical and practical contributions, emphasizing the importance of synergy between financial management, innovation strategies, and ethnic communities in supporting SME sustainability.
