Abstract

English as an international language is very much needed in the world of work. In Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif, graduates are expected to be able to communicate proficiently using English so that they can compete in the industrial world globally both at home and abroad considering that the creative industry is growing rapidly. In order for students to be able to use English well in Creative Industry, it is necessary to hold a placement test at the beginning of the study. The purpose of this research is to see the effectiveness of doing a placement test using the website on semester one or two students of the Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif (Polimedia). This study is a qualitative descriptive research. The subjects of this study were students in semester one or two of the advertising and broadcasting study program. Data collection technique in this study is done by do the placement tests, questionnaires, observations, interviews and literature review. The result of this study is although placement test through website has shortcomings, it is still worth doing in Polimedia

Abstract

Abstrak: Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) yang terus berkembang dari waktu ke waktu memberikan banyak manfaat dalam beberapa bidang termasuk dunia Pendidikan. Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif yang lulusannya dituntut memiliki kreativitas tinggi agar dapat bersaing dengan dunia industri harus membuat proses belajar mengajar dalam mendidik mahasiswa dituntut kreatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana pemanfaatan TIK dapat mempengaruhi proses pembelajaran di kampus Polimedia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui angket, observasi, wawancara dan kajian pustaka. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa TIK sangat unik dan dapat meningkatkan minat siswa ketika diterapkan dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Kata Kunci: Teknologi, Informasi, Komunikasi, Media Pembelajaran Abstract: Information and Communication Technology (ICT) which continues to develop from time to time provides many benefits in several fields including the world of Education. Creative Media State Polytechnic whose graduates are required to have high creativity in order to compete with the industrial world must make the teaching and learning process in educating students demanded to be creative. This study aims to see how the use of ICT can affect the learning process on the Polimedia campus. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with data collection through questionnaires, observations, interviews and literature review. The results of this study indicate that ICT is very unique and can increase student interest when applied in teaching and learning activities. Keywords: Technology, Information, Communication, Learning Media
