Abstract

In social life, of course there is a philosophy of life that is born from local wisdom which becomes the identity of the community itself. However, as time progressed, this philosophy began to be eroded and considered backward, making it possible for society to no longer defend it as a philosophy of life. This research explains how Ain Ni Ain which is the philosophy of life of the Kei people, can play a role and function in creating harmony and how Ain Ni Ain can survive in the life of Kei society. As a result, Ain Ni Ain is an important life philosophy of the Kei community which plays a role in creating harmony between religions believers based on fraternal relations. Apart from that, this proves that Ain Ni Ain can survive following the needs of its people, because the Kei people are able to make various efforts so that this philosophy can survive and be maintained.

Abstract

This research discusses the social interaction between Muslim and non- Muslim residents in Cibipark Residence Housing, Cibinong District, Bogor Regency, which consists of three different religious groups: Islam, Christianity, and Hinduism. It is a qualitative study obtaining data through observation, interviews, and documentation using a smartphone for recording and photos, employing a sociological approach. The results reveal various forms of interaction where Muslim and non-Muslim residents blend together to resolve conflicts, particularly regarding land and public facilities, marked by cooperation and accommodation. Residents are capable of managing conflicts without resorting to violence, relying on consensus-building, and no economic competition or religion- based sentiments were found. Supportive factors for social interaction include sympathy and the integrity of residents, most of whom are law enforcement officers, in promoting tolerance. However, the scarcity of places of worship for non-Muslim residents poses a potential conflict challenge in the future.

Abstract

This article examines a flourishing Islamic youth movement in Indonesia, #IndonesiaTanpaPacaran or Indonesia without Dating. This movement calls for hijrah (literally means an action of moving to another place) from Western dating habits to ta'aruf or an Islamic practice of getting married without dating among the Muslim millennial. This article aims to explain the emergence of this movement. Drawing approach from social movement theory, the writer argues that this movement is culturally embedded since piety, religious commodification and political resistance against existing political nuance are overshadowed the emergence of this anti-dating movement. It is found out that this movement is an offshoot of banned Islamic organization Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) that continuously struggles to revive the past transnational rule of khalifah (caliphate) in Indonesia. Consequently, the concept of hijrah in social media campaign does not only to promote Islamic lifestyle like ta'aruf but also to promote caliphate as an alternative to secular democracy. This study is presented given the fact that the research on Islamic youth movement in social media is still lack of attention, despite the so-called hijrah movement is legion and may strategically important to make social change through the use of social media.
