Abstract

School bullying in Indonesia represents a severe public health crisis, with prevalence rates exceeding 41% and ranking fifth globally. Despite robust regulatory frameworks, a critical research gap persists: existing anti-bullying policies remain predominantly procedural, lacking systematic integration of Islamic ethical-religious principles essential for psychological protection and moral development. This study addresses this gap by examining the alignment of Indonesia's anti-bullying regulations with Islamic legal principles on children's rights. Introducing methodological novelty, the research operationalizes Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah objectives—specifically ḥifẓ al-nafs (preservation of psychological well-being) and ḥifẓ al-ʿaql (protection of cognitive development)—as explicit evaluative criteria for national policy analysis, bridging trauma-informed psychology with classical Islamic jurisprudence for the first time in this domain. Employing a normative-juridical approach integrated with socio-legal analysis, the study evaluates Islamic sources, statutory instruments, and institutional reports from 2020–2026. Findings reveal normative convergence between national policies and Islamic principles regarding child protection, yet significant implementation gaps persist due to administrative orientations neglecting moral-spiritual dimensions. Bullying inflicts severe psychological harm, with 66% of victims exhibiting PTSD-compatible symptoms, which current policies inadequately address. The study proposes a Humanistic-Islamic Anti-Bullying Policy Integration framework comprising six interconnected pillars. Theoretically, this research advances Islamic legal discourse by expanding Maqāṣid theory beyond traditional juridical domains into contemporary educational policy design, demonstrating its capacity to operationalize psychological protection within a holistic, values-based paradigm. This model offers policymakers a culturally resonant, ethically grounded approach to bullying prevention in Muslim-majority contexts.

Abstract

Spiritual care is an important component of healthcare that views patients as individuals with integrated physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs. This study aims to map the core components of spiritual care within the Indonesian healthcare system through a scoping review approach. Literature was collected from Scopus, Sinta, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar databases using keywords related to spiritual care and healthcare services in Indonesia. Publications from 2015–2026 were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and analyzed thematically. The findings identify six major components of spiritual care in Indonesia: patients’ spiritual needs, forms of spiritual interventions, healthcare workers’ competencies, institutional and policy support, integration into clinical services, and implementation challenges. The review demonstrates that spiritual care contributes significantly to patients’ quality of life, coping capacity, psychological well-being, and healthcare quality. However, implementation remains constrained by limited regulations, shortages of trained professionals, and the lack of systematic integration into the national healthcare system.

Abstract

The quality of the Muslim generation in Indonesia remains a pressing concern, particularly due to persistent issues such as malnutrition and stunting, which adversely affect cognitive development, educational achievement, and long-term human capital. In response, the Free School Meal (Makan Bergizi Gratis/MBG) has been introduced as a strategic policy to improve children's nutritional status and support learning outcomes. This study examines the MBG program through the lens of Islamic education and explores its contribution to enhancing the quality of the Muslim generation. Employing a qualitative, normative, and library-based research design, data were drawn from policy documents, academic literature, and relevant sources, and analyzed using content analysis. The findings indicate that adequate nutrition significantly enhances cognitive function, physical health, and academic performance. From an Islamic educational perspective, the notion of a high-quality generation aligns with the concept of insan kamil, emphasizing holistic development across spiritual, intellectual, moral, and physical dimensions. The MBG program reflects key Islamic values, including halal and tayyib, social responsibility, and public welfare (maslahah ‘ammah). Its effectiveness, however, depends on sustained implementation and integration with educational frameworks.
