Abstract

Duties as women who work become more numerous. Women are required to fulfill their household obligations, they also have the burden of completing their duties and responsibilities in their work. The formulation of the problem in this study is (1) how is the dual role of women as street sweepers and housewives. (2) Problems faced by women as street sweepers and housewives and (3) solutions to problems faced by women street sweepers and housewives in Samarinda Kota District. The type of research used in this research is a case study with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study conclude that (1) The dual role of women as street sweepers and housewives in Samarinda Kota District is the role of a wife, a role as a mother and a role as a working woman. (2) The strategy in dealing with the dual role conflict faced by women street sweepers and housewives is firstly problems that arise from within (internal) such as congenital diseases suffered, work permit problems and behavior when work fatigue. Second, problems that arise from the outside (external), namely the road when it rains, the speed of vehicles and disturbances from ignorant people. (3) The solutions to the problems faced by women street sweepers are physical health, emotional control (coping stress), when they cannot get off work, they can be replaced by their husbands, children or trusted people, and wear full attributes when working.

Abstract

This research aims to reconceptualize Islamic higher education in the region from Paulo Freire's perspective. The focus is on Paulo Freire's educational philosophy, the portrait of higher education in the region, and its reconstruction. The method used in this research is the library research method. The results showed the Freire's formulation of educational philosophy is that education introduced as the education for the oppres, namely educational system is constructed mutually with the oppressed them selves. The education system used to negate an education system which was oriented towards mastery or dominance. Awareness is the core of  philosophical  process offered by Freire because its human liberation and humanization can only be carried out if individuals or groups in a society are real aware of the reality of themselves and the world around them. Constructively, Islamic higher education in the regions is expected to be able to reorient towards quality aspects that go hand in hand with accessibility, which is a main part of regional government programs in the context of investing in human resources. Furthermore, the higher education curriculum is expected to be able to accommodate contemporary developments through the principles of independent learning on independent campuses by prioritizing the basic principles of humanist education, as in Paulo Freire's educational philosophy.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pendidikan Islam telah menjadi aspek fundamental dalam masyarakat Muslim, membentuk nilai, keyakinan, dan perilaku individu. Di era kontemporer, lanskap pendidikan berkembang pesat, menuntut refleksi terhadap kondisi terkini dan proyeksi masa depan pendidikan Islam agar tetap relevan dan transformatif. Artikel ini mengkaji perubahan pendidikan Islam melalui analisis literatur dan SWOT, serta menyoroti kebutuhan integrasi subjek modern seperti sains, teknologi, teknik, seni, dan matematika dalam kerangka pendidikan Islam. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi literatur yang dikumpulkan dari database akademik seperti Google Scholar, JSTOR, dan ProQuest. Data dianalisis menggunakan metode SWOT untuk menilai kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang, dan ancaman pendidikan Islam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan Islam menghadapi tantangan signifikan seperti kurangnya inovasi metode pengajaran, keterbatasan sumber daya, dan akses yang tidak merata ke pendidikan berkualitas. Namun, terdapat peluang besar dalam kemajuan teknologi, peningkatan kesadaran global, dan potensi kemitraan dengan institusi internasional. Transformasi pendidikan Islam membutuhkan inovasi dalam metode pengajaran, adopsi pendekatan interaktif dan kontekstual, serta pemanfaatan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan dan relevansi pendidikan. Pendidikan Islam juga harus menjawab isu sosial kontemporer seperti keadilan sosial, keberlanjutan lingkungan, dan kepemimpinan etis, sehingga siswa dapat berkembang menjadi warga global yang bertanggung jawab dengan integritas moral dan spiritual yang kuat. Artikel ini diharapkan dapat berkontribusi pada diskusi akademik mengenai pendidikan Islam dan mendorong praktik pendidikan yang lebih adaptif dan transformatif.Abstract: Islamic education has been a fundamental aspect of Muslim society, shaping individuals' values, beliefs, and behaviors. In the contemporary era, the educational landscape is rapidly evolving, demanding reflection on the current state and future projections of Islamic education to remain relevant and transformative. This article examines changes in Islamic education through literature analysis and SWOT, highlighting the need for integrating modern subjects such as science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics within the Islamic education framework. The research employs a qualitative approach with literature studies collected from academic databases such as Google Scholar, JSTOR, and ProQuest. Data is analyzed using the SWOT method to assess the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of Islamic education. The findings reveal that Islamic education faces significant challenges such as a lack of innovative teaching methods, limited resources, and unequal access to quality education. However, there are substantial opportunities in technological advancements, increasing global awareness, and potential partnerships with international institutions. Transforming Islamic education requires innovation in teaching methods, adopting interactive and contextual approaches, and utilizing information and communication technology to enhance engagement and educational relevance. Islamic education must also address contemporary social issues such as social justice, environmental sustainability, and ethical leadership, enabling students to develop into responsible global citizens with strong moral and spiritual integrity. This article aims to contribute to the academic discussion on Islamic education and encourage more adaptive and transformative educational practices.

Abstract

In attempts to address issues in the realm of Islamic education, particularly at the adult community level, al-Quran literacy is frequently raised. Although adults are supposed to be reasonably literate in the Al-Quran, there is nevertheless a disconnect with the reality of societal conditions. It is important to give careful consideration to the process of teaching adults Al-Quran literacy through education. In order to provide individuals in East Kutai with an instructional communication method for Al-Quran literacy, this research attempts to do so. This study employs descriptive methodology and is classified as a qualitative study. According to the study's findings, adult education programs in Al-Quran literacy in East Kutai use persuasive, dialogic, and demonstrative communication styles. The government, social environment, and family environment all provide impetus for the Al-Quran literacy process. In terms of techniques, the iqro method is employed in the educational process to facilitate adult learners' comprehension of the Qur’an. In addition, an environment free from coercion and a feeling of community among adults without literacy in the Qur'an are supportive elements in the process of achieving Qur’an literacy. In the meantime, adult physical condition, a lack of infrastructure and support systems, and a comparatively short study period are the things impeding Al-Quran knowledge.

Abstract

Pada setiap orang dewasa yang menjadi orangtua menginginkan agar anaknya terlahir dalam keadaan sehat, baik secara jasmani maupun rohani. Namun beberapa orang tua harus mendapati bahwa anaknya lahir dan tumbuh dengan kondisi tunarungu. Anak berkebutuhan khusus (ABK) dengan gangguan tunarungu adalah individu yang mengalami masalah pada fungsi pendengarannya. Penerimaan orangtua terhadap Anak berkebutuhan khusus (ABK) merupakan fakta sosial yang berlaku di masyarakat dengan berbagai dimensi penerimaan, salah satunya adalah penerimaan dalam dimensi budaya. Artikel ini mengungkap bagaimana penerimaan dari orangtua terhadap anak berkebutuhan khusus dalam dimensi Budaya di Kota Samarinda. Artikel ini adalah hasil penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan life history method. Informan penelitian ditentukan secara purposive untuk mendapatkan hasil dari subjek dengan kriteria yang telah ditentukan, yakni orang tua dengan Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus (Tunarungu). Kajian ini secara komprehensif menganalisis pernyataan subjek untuk menggali dimensi budaya yang menjadi argumentasi atas penerimaan orangtua dengan anak berkebutuhan khusus (Tunarungu). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat subjek menunjukkan respon yang positif pada penerimaan terhadap anak berkebutuhan khusus dengan komposisi indikator penerimaan yang berbeda. Sebagian besar subjek memenuhi semua indikator penerimaan yang terdiri dari empat indikator, yakni: pertama, pemahaman terhadap kelebihan dan kekurangan anak; kedua, pandangan orang tua terhadap anak; ketiga, usaha membantu perkembangan anak; dan keempat, pemenuhan kebutuhan fisik dan psikis anak. Secara garis besar orangtua menerima keadaan, namun tidak memenuhi indikator penerimaan dalam aspek pemahaman terhadap kelebihan dan kekurangan anak karena tidak memiliki preferensi tentang kelebihan yang dimiliki oleh anaknya. Melalui kajian ini diharapkan ada langkah-langkah progresif dalam mengkampanyekan pemahaman, wawasan dan pengetahuan akan penerimaan terhadap anak berkebutuhan khusus dalam dimensi budaya.

Abstract

Facts about the character of students who are not good are still found; however, solutions to these problems must continue to be done as a process of educating students on an ongoing basis. Such is the case with this study, Qualitatively descriptive, which aims to describe the implementation of the reflection method in Islamic Religious Education subjects in helping student character at Hidayatul Mustafidin High School, Kudus, Indonesia, from the perspective of Ibn Thufail's thought. In-depth interviews involve extracting data, observing, taking documentation, and validating it with triangulation. The data were analyzed through data reduction, presentation and verification/conclusion stages. Applying Ibn Thufail's perspective reflection method in PAI subjects in shaping student character at Hidayatul Mustafidin High School is carried out in several ways, including holding regular reflection sessions, and PAI teachers provide direction and motivation to students. In the discussion groups in the classroom, students are given one theme and then asked to discuss and write a report on the results of the discussion. Furthermore, they are holding field trips in the form of nature tadabbur activities. These activities certainly provide benefits to students, especially in shaping character. Students become aware of what has been done, how to improve poor attitudes, understand each other's characters, and increase gratitude and an embedded attitude of responsibility for what has been done.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role and form of parental involvement in Islamic education and its implications for student development. Using a qualitative approach and literature review method, this study examines primary sources such as the Qur'an, Hadith, and the words of scholars related to Islamic education, followed by an analysis of relevant previous research. This study not only explores the values contained in religious sources, but also compares empirical findings from previous studies that identify various forms of parental involvement in supporting children's education, such as emotional support, participation in school activities, and communication with teachers. The results of the study show that parental involvement is strongly emphasized in Islamic teachings, with an emphasis on the development of children's character and morals. Various forms of parental involvement contribute significantly to the improvement of academic achievement and character development of students. The implications of this involvement show that students who have active parents tend to show better learning outcomes and have strong moral and spiritual values. This study recommends the development of training programs for parents and activities that can directly involve them in Islamic education. Thus, this study emphasizes the importance of the role of parents in forming a generation that is not only academically superior, but also has good morals and strong spiritual values.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana layanan bimbingan karir yang ada di sekolah dapat membantu peserta didik dalam membuat perencanaan karir di masa depan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif analisis. Penelitian dilakukan di SMA Negeri 1 Samboja yang merupakan salah satu sekolah favorit yang ada di Kabupaten Kutai Kartanegara Provinsi Kalimantan Timur. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik purposive sampling digunakan untuk memastikan bahwa informasi yang diperoleh berasal dari informan yang sesuai dengan kriteria tujuan penelitian, sehingga didapatkan informan yang terdiri dari dua guru bimbingan konseling dan enam perwakilan siswa dari setiap kelas XII. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model deskriptif analisis oleh Miles dan Huberman. Peneliti juga menggunakan beberapa teori yang dijadikan acuan dalam proses penyusunan data, yaitu: 1) teori trait and factor untuk menganalisis bagaimana aspek-aspek seperti minat, bakat, hasil belajar, dan ciri kepribadian dapat diidentifikasi melalui layanan bimbingan karir; 2) teori Donald Edwin Super untuk memahami tahapan-tahapan perkembangan karir individu mulai dari perkembangan, eksplorasi, pemantapan, pembinaan hingga kemunduran; 3) teori Holland digunakan untuk memahami hubungan antara kepribadian siswa dan lingkungan karir yang sesuai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa layanan bimbingan karir di SMA Negeri 1 Samboja efektif dalam membantu peserta didik merencanakan serta memantapkan pilihan karir yang sesuai dengan kondisi serta minat dan bakat peserta didik. Hal ini berdasarkan hasil dari asesmen teknik non tes menggunakan wawancara yang dilakukan oleh peneliti terhadap enam perwakilan peserta didik dengan indikator perencanaan karirnya berupa pemahaman terhadap wawasan dan persiapan karir, pertimbangan alternatif pilihan karir, dan memiliki perencanaan karir di masa depan secara matang.

Abstract

Islamic education in Indonesia is confronted with a critical challenge in cultivating creativity, critical thinking, and intellectual independence among students. Entrenched in rigid and traditionalist pedagogical models, the system often fails to accommodate the dynamic and creative dimensions of human potential, resulting in educational stagnation and diminished societal relevance. This study addresses this issue by exploring the epistemological reconstruction of Islamic education, aiming to develop a transformative educational framework rooted in creativity, rationality, and moral responsibility. The study integrates insights from classical Islamic scholarship and modern educational theory by employing a qualitative methodology based on a comprehensive literature review and analytical-reflective analysis. The proposed model emphasizes the need to deconstruct the dichotomy between religious and scientific knowledge, promote epistemological universality, and adopt pluralistic, student-centered learning approaches. The findings reveal that revitalizing Islamic education through such a framework can foster pious, creative, autonomous, and socially engaged learners. Ultimately, this article argues for an educational paradigm that does not merely preserve religious tradition but actively prepares individuals to become ethical contributors to a just, inclusive, and civilized society. The study also highlights the importance of further research to test this model in real institutional contexts.

Abstract

This article examines the lived experiences of Acehnese women who initiate divorce (khulu’), focusing on the socio-religious, cultural, and legal dimensions that shape their decisions. This study employed a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The study captures the voices of women from various socio-economic backgrounds through in-depth interviews, aiming to explore their motivations, internal conflicts, and post-divorce realities. Findings indicate that marital dissatisfaction, domestic violence, infidelity, economic independence, and growing awareness of women’s rights are key drivers for seeking divorce. Despite strong religious and cultural norms that often frame divorce as morally undesirable, these women navigate complex legal pluralism and social stigma with remarkable agency. The study underscores how intersecting factors, such as patriarchal interpretations of syarī‘ah, customary values, and legal constraints, impact women’s decision-making processes. Ultimately, the article contributes to the discourse on gender justice, Islamic family law reform, and women's empowerment in Muslim-majority contexts. Policy implications include the urgency of expanding legal aid services, gender-sensitive judicial practices, and community education to uphold women’s rights and dignity in the realm of Islamic marital law.
