Abstract

Laboratory management is an attempt to manage the laboratory. One of the quality management systems to ensure the quality of its management is to apply the ISO 9001:2015 standard. Laboratory Clinic Diagnos Denpasar is one of the intermediate level laboratories located in the center of Denpasar City. The Laboratory Clinic Diagnos Denpasar has only been opened since January 10, 2020 and is on its way to ISO 9001:2015 standard certification. The Community Activities are carried out in collaboration with DPW PATELKI Bali as a speaker for counseling for ATLM. The questionnaire was administered to measure ATLM's knowledge of ISO 9001:2015. The results of the questionnaire were tabulated using the Paired Sample-T Test with the result p value = 0.00. The result is that there are increases in ATLM's knowledge of laboratory management, especially ISO 9001:2015 after being given counseling. From the results of the activity, it is expected to increase understanding related to laboratory management, especially the ISO 9001:2015 standard.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic condition caused by high blood glucose levels due to the pancreas's inability to produce sufficient insulin. Elevated blood glucose levels cause the kidneys to work harder in the blood filtration process. Creatinine testing is one of the indicators used to detect kidney damage. This study aims to determine the correlation between fasting blood glucose levels and creatinine levels in patients with diabetes mellitus at Bhayangkara Hospital Denpasar. This study is an analytical observational research employing a questionnaire method and direct examination, conducted in March and April 2025. A total of 48 samples were included using the total sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank correlation test. The results showed that 40 subjects (83.3%) had high fasting blood glucose levels and 8 subjects (16.7%) had normal levels. Meanwhile, 39 subjects (81.2%) had high creatinine levels and 9 subjects (18.8%) had normal levels. The results of this study indicate a significant relationship between fasting blood glucose levels and creatinine levels in patients with diabetes mellitus at Bhayangkara Hospital Denpasar, with a p-value of 0,000 and a correlation coefficient of 0,501, indicating a positive relationship. It is concluded that hyperglycemia plays a role in the decline of kidney function. Patients are advised to maintain a healthy lifestyle, healthcare providers to enhance education, and future research to consider complication factors and therapy.

Abstract

Hospitals as public service providers are required to optimize information technology through the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) to improve the quality and efficiency of health services, including laboratory installations. However, HMIS implementation often faces technical and coordination barriers between units that may reduce its effectiveness. This study aimed to analyze the effect of HMIS on the work efficiency of laboratory personnel at Kendari City Hospital. This research applied a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. All laboratory staff (medical laboratory technologists, nurses, and specialist doctors) totaling 28 respondents were selected using total sampling. Data collection was conducted from February to July 2025 using a valid and reliable Likert-scale questionnaire, and analyzed using simple linear regression and one-tailed t-tests with SPSS version 27. The results showed that most respondents had positive perceptions of HMIS implementation (mean 4.19) and work efficiency (mean 4.28). Regression analysis revealed a significant positive effect of HMIS on work efficiency (coefficient 0.657; R² 0.331; t-statistic 3.590 > t-table 1.706). In conclusion, HMIS implementation positively influences laboratory personnel work efficiency. Continuous development and evaluation of HMIS, as well as integration with the Laboratory Information System, are recommended to enhance laboratory service quality.

Abstract

Obesity is a condition of abnormal or excessive fat accumulation which can be a risk factor for dyslipidemia. Uncontrolled dyslipidemia can directly cause endothelial dysfunction by increasing the production of free radicals, causing Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) oxidation and stimulating the release of inflammatory factors that can cause inflammation. Neutrophils and macrophages are the first leucocytes to appear in the early response to inflammation, so the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio can be useful for evaluating the prognosis of inflammation as an early detector and as a marker of inflammation that can be detected simply and efficiently. This study aims to determine the correlation between Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) and Lipid Profile in adult patients with obesity in Prodia Tangerang Clinical laboratory. This study is an analytical study with a cross-sectional approach and used purposive sampling technique. The research sample data was taken from secondary data from patient medical records. The p-value obtained using Rank Spearman correlation from the comparation of neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio with each lipid profile value is total cholesterol (p=0.003), LDL cholesterol (p=0.013), High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol (p=0.375) and tryglicerides (p=0.316). This study found a relationship between the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio with total cholesterol dan LDL cholesterol, but there was no relationship between the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio with HDL cholesterol and tryglicerides in obese adult patient in Prodia Tangerang Clinical Laboratory.
