Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in mathematics learning through the application of problem-based learning strategies. This research was conducted involving 35 students in class IV at SDN 42 / IV Jambi City. This classroom action research procedure was designed for 3 (three) cycles, where each cycle with the stages of implementation, observation, reflection and carried out with collaboration between researchers and class teachers. Based on the acquisition of learning outcomes and student and teacher observations using the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) based learning strategies, it can be seen that the learning outcomes achieved by students have increased. This can be seen from the results in cycle I, the average student score was 63.71 in cycle II, the average student score was 68 and in cycle III the average student score reached 71.43. Likewise, the percentage of students who succeed in learning each cycle also increases, we can see in the graph above in cycle I 68.57% of students, in cycle II 77.14% of students, and cycle III 85.71% of students from the total number of students who take part in learning. So that with the application of problem-based learning strategies can improve student learning outcomes in mathematics subjects at SDN 42 / IV Jambi City.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine student activity. This research uses Classroom Action Research (PTK). The subjects and location of this research were class VB students at SDN 42 Jambi City, totaling 24 students. The research model used is research which includes four stages of action, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive. The research results showed that students experienced significant improvement during the two cycles using each completeness percentage. In the pre-cycle, students' completeness was 40%. In cycle I the completeness obtained was 53% and in cycle II it reached 77% completeness or an increase of 37%. With a pre-cycle average of 40% to 53% in cycle I and increasing in cycle II to 77%. So, it can be concluded that the TaRL approach can increase student activity in teaching and learning activities in the VB class at SDN 42 Jambi City. So, it can be recommended to use the TaRL learning approach to increase student activity.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of implementing the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach in increasing the learning motivation of grade 4 students of SDN 42/IV Jambi City in Indonesian language learning. Using classroom action research (PTK), data was collected through direct observation of students' learning activities over three cycles, as well as a learning motivation questionnaire completed by 28 students. Results showed that at the beginning of the study, only 21.4% of students had high learning motivation, 35.7% with moderate motivation, and 42.9% with low motivation. Through the application of CRT, students' participation and engagement in learning increased significantly. In the last cycle, the average score of students' learning motivation increased from 58 to 76, reflecting an overall increase in students' learning motivation. These results indicate that the CRT approach is effective in stimulating students' learning motivation. The findings emphasize the importance of paying attention to students' cultural context in designing effective and relevant learning strategies, as well as the need to strengthen teachers' capacity in implementing CRT in the classroom. By utilizing students' cultural backgrounds, teachers can create an inclusive and motivating learning environment.
