Abstract

This study aims to reveal whether Holland's career guidance is effective for the independence of decision making in choosing majors in tertiary institutions for class XII students of SMAN 2 West Sumatra. In an individual's life, there comes a point where he has to make a decision. Sharing higher-level forms of decision-making, for example regarding life and goals or careers. Every high school student must want or continue their studies at the desired college. Through Holland's career guidance, it is hoped that students or individuals will have preparation in selecting majors at tertiary institutions. This study aims to see the effectiveness of Holland's career guidance on the independence of decision-making in choosing majors in tertiary institutions for class XII students of SMAN 2 West Sumatra. The type of research that the authors use is a pre-experimental study with a one group pretest-posttest design. The data collection technique that researchers use is a questionnaire/instrument. Data processing using SPSS. In this study, the researcher provided classical services regarding Holland's career guidance to respondents who had low decision-making independence in choosing majors. The results of the study can be concluded that Holland's career guidance is effective in increasing the independence of decision-making choices for class XII students at SMAN 2 West Sumatra. This is evident from the results of the t test (paired Simple Test) which obtained sig results that were smaller than the error, so Ho in this study was rejected and Ha was accepted. In the data analysis, it was also seen that there was an increase in the average independence of decision making in the choice of majors given to respondents during the pretest and during the posttest. So it can be concluded that Holland's career guidance is effective in increasing the independence of major decision making for class XII students of SMAN 2 West Sumatra.

Abstract

Tujuan penulisan ini untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Layanan Konseling Kelompok Berbasis Regulasi Diri dalam Meningkatkan Kedisiplinan Belajar Siswa di SMP Negeri 1 X Koto Diatas. Karena kondisi siswa di daerah tempat SMP ini berdiri mempunyai latang belakang yang heterogen sehingga perlunya konseling kelompok berbasis regulasi diri dalam meningkatkan kedisiplinan belajar siswa di SMP Negeri 1 X Koto Diatas. Agar siswa memiliki kedisiplinan belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh konseling kelompok berbasis regulasi diri dalam meningkatkan kedisiplinan belajar siswa di SMP Negeri 1 X Koto Diatas. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian eksperimen, dengan one group pretest and posttets design. Dalam penelitian ini penulis memberikan treatment konseling kelompok berbasis regulasi diri kepada 10 orang siswa di SMP Negeri 1 X Koto Diatas. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terjadi peningkatan tingkat kedisiplinan belajar siswa setelah diberikan treatment konseling kelompok berbasis regulasi diri dengan Hasil paired t test menunjukan bahwa to (6,275) > tt (1,833) pada alpha 0,05 dan df 9 dan nilai n-gain tingkat kedisiplinan belajar siswa setelah mendapatkan konseling kelompok berbasis regulasi diri yaitu 0,43 atau 43% berada pada kategori sedang. Hal ini memberikan bukti bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan tingkat kedisiplinan belajar siswa setelah mendapatkan intervensi konseling kelompok berbasis regulasi diri. Bukti statistik ini mendukung hipotesis dalam penelitian ini, yaitu Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Artinya konseling kelompok berbasis regulasi diri berpengaruh meningkatkan kedisiplinan belajar siswa.

Abstract

Education is not only a transfer of knowledge, but also prepares students to plan career options after graduating from high school. Career guidance is solving career problems, obtaining the best adjustment between the abilities and environment of life, obtaining success and self-realization in the course of life, including choosing education and skills to obtain sources of income, which enable a person to progress and develop in quality (standard of living) and quantity (welfare).  So the ability of individuals to make decisions related to career issues. Counseling techniques are known as Client-centered Therapy, which is a client-centered therapy technique counseling technique where the role is the counselor himself, the counsellor is left to find his own solution to the problems he is facing.  In this paper the researcher tries to analyze and develop about the relationship of career guidance with a client-centered approach to help clients, and the lack of specific references. Researchers try to contribute in terms of guidance and counseling in the development of career guidance with a client-centered approach. The method used in this study is literature research.The results found that client-centered therapy is that clients are given the opportunity to express problems, feelings and thoughts freely. This approach also suggests that a person who has a problem basically still has potential and is able to overcome his own problems in his environment and can make decisions that are meaningful to him and will know the career he designed in the future.
