This activity mainly involves field survey to identify physical barrier, focused group discussion to identify the users’ needs, and the development of a design prototype for the communal space which fits the universal accessibility design principles. This activity is analyzed through comparison between the knowledge and the approval of an inclusive communal space, and through the comparison between knowledge and the approval of the respondents in regards to the needs of the communal space in an inclusive housing environment. The result of this activity is a design recommendation for a communal space that could be accessed by every group, which includes several facility such as a ramp, ergonomic seating area, and an audiovisual information system.
