Abstract

The problem of waste has often been discussed in various fields, which is a complicated problem for people who are less concerned and less sensitive to environmental pollution. A clean and healthy environment is very important for welfare, especially for the people of Lembah Sari Village, West Lombok Regency. Like in many other places, the issue of environmental cleanliness is often a major concern. This is the background for the author to carry out Real Work Lecture service in one of the villages in the Batu Layar sub-district, West Lombok Regency, namely Lembah Sari Village. The method for implementing this activity program is: preparation stage, implementation stage, final stage. This community service activity in Lembah Sari Village is where the community is very happy with the provision of making rubbish bins in their village environment and it is very helpful in changing their mindset about the importance of keeping the environment clean. It is hoped that in the future this community service will continue to pay attention to maintaining environmental cleanliness, the habit of throwing rubbish away and leaving it there needs to be changed.

Abstract

Food security is one of the main pillars of sustainable development in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas that still rely on the agricultural sector as their primary source of livelihood. This study aims to examine farmer empowerment strategies based on the local wisdom of the Muna community using a socio-cultural approach as an effort to strengthen food security. Local wisdom of the Muna community, such as the kaghombo mutual cooperation system, rotating land management (kafo), and the karia harvest festival tradition, serve as social instruments that influence sustainable food production, distribution, and consumption patterns. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies. The results show that local wisdom plays a significant role in building social solidarity, maintaining the sustainability of agricultural ecosystems, and minimizing the risk of crop failure. Effective empowerment strategies include strengthening customary-based farmer groups, training in agricultural technology aligned with local wisdom, and collaboration between traditional leaders, local government, and non-governmental organizations. The implications of this study indicate that integrating local values into farmer empowerment programs can improve food security while maintaining the cultural identity of the Muna community. Thus, a socio-cultural approach based on local wisdom is not only relevant to the local context of Muna but can also be replicated in other regions with similar social and cultural characteristics.

Abstract

Pemberdayaan agribisnis masyarakat desa merupakan strategi penting dalam pembangunan ekonomi pedesaan yang berkelanjutan. Dalam proses ini, aspek gender menjadi komponen krusial yang seringkali terabaikan, padahal peran laki-laki dan perempuan memiliki kontribusi yang saling melengkapi dalam seluruh rantai agribisnis, mulai dari produksi hingga pemasaran. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara mendalam peran gender dalam pemberdayaan agribisnis masyarakat desa berdasarkan analisis literatur yang relevan. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur sistematis terhadap jurnal, artikel, dan laporan penelitian yang terbit dalam sepuluh tahun terakhir. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan perempuan dalam agribisnis masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan seperti akses terbatas terhadap sumber daya, pelatihan, dan pengambilan keputusan. Namun demikian, perempuan juga memiliki potensi besar dalam inovasi, pengelolaan hasil pertanian, dan membangun jaringan usaha mikro agribisnis. Pemberdayaan gender dalam agribisnis tidak hanya meningkatkan pendapatan rumah tangga petani, tetapi juga memperkuat ketahanan pangan lokal dan kesejahteraan komunitas. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan pemberdayaan yang inklusif dan sensitif gender dalam program-program agribisnis desa. Kajian ini merekomendasikan integrasi perspektif gender dalam perencanaan dan pelaksanaan kegiatan agribisnis berbasis komunitas sebagai langkah strategis dalam pembangunan pertanian yang berkelanjutan dan adil.

Abstract

Empowering local farmers is a strategic step in strengthening food security and economic independence for rural communities. In the digital era, agribusiness innovation emphasizes not only increased productivity but also the integration of local wisdom values ​​as the social and cultural foundation of agrarian communities. This literature review aims to analyze how digital technology-based innovation can strengthen the position of local farmers through an approach rooted in local culture and traditions. This research examines various sources from national and international journals from 2020–2025 that discuss the relationship between digital technology, sustainable agribusiness, and the preservation of local wisdom values. The study's results indicate that the integration of digital technology in agribusiness, such as the use of agricultural e-commerce, smart farming, and digital community platforms, can increase production efficiency and market access for farmers. However, the implementation of these innovations is more effective when accompanied by a humanistic approach that respects local traditions and strengthens the social role of farmers as guardians of agrarian culture. Thus, agribusiness innovation based on local wisdom is a crucial strategy in addressing the challenges of globalization and climate change, while simultaneously maintaining the socio-economic sustainability of rural communities.
