Abstract

In order to carry out their roles and functions as managers, school principals have the right strategy to empower educational staff through cooperative cooperation, provide opportunities for educational staff to improve their profession and encourage the involvement of all educational staff in various activities that support school programs. The purpose of this research is to obtain objective information about: the role of the principal as a manager in improving the quality of education in school institutions. Schools that are able to develop their institutions as organizations by themselves need to disclose all information owned by schools. The role of the school principal is to provide staff with access to the information needed, and to delegate authority to use it. In an effort to support and facilitate the work of subordinates, Principals need to carry out their roles in accordance with their status as school leaders. Organizational development in schools, school principals really need to trust staff and give them full authority and power to carry out their job duties. This is inseparable from the important role of the school principal as a manager in institutional management who regularly plans, organizes, directs and oversees the work carried out by his work team in each institution.

Abstract

The importance of education in the formation of quality human resources must be followed by the development of the quality of education available in each region. However, until now the development of education in Indonesia is still uneven. One of the government's efforts is to issue a regulation that requires every Indonesian citizen to complete 9 years of compulsory education. So educational services must be followed by good quality educational services as well. This will affect the level of public interest in completing the 9-year compulsory education. The purpose of this study was to determine the current level of education services at the relevant education offices, to be able to respond to community needs and services in the field. By analyzing community satisfaction, the government can improve the quality of education services. By referring to how much the policies and activities of public organizations are needed by the community. Accountability indicators are measured by the ability of officers to achieve service results and benefits, the ability of officers to demonstrate the level of achievement of predetermined targets, the ability of related human resources to carry out service tasks and the ability of officers to solve problems in educational services.

Abstract

The school principal is the leader in an educational institution unit using team work, who is entrusted by the institution to lead the school and motivate work, teach, organize, mobilize and direct, for the achievement of educational goals. This study uses a qualitative approach using descriptive methods. This study aims to describe the principal's leadership in improving teacher performance. In the learning process the teacher is seen as having an important role especially in helping students to develop their potential in cognitive, affective and psychomotor abilities, the teacher also seeks to arouse curiosity, encourage independence and accuracy of intellectual logic, and create conditions for success in learning. Teacher performance can be seen and measured based on competency specifications/criteria that must be possessed by each teacher. can be displayed through the mastery of pedagogic, professional, personality and social competencies. Considering that the leadership and work motivation of school principals on teacher performance provides a correlation, it is suggested to school institutions, that teachers can improve performance as can be seen from their responsibilities in carrying out the professional duties they carry.
