Abstract

The quality of collections in the library is an important parameter in the assessment of a library. As an information provider unit, the library must be able to ensure that the library materials that are held and stored must be in accordance with the needs of the users and the library needs to develop collections for the needs of the users. This study discusses the selection of library materials in the development of collections at the UPT library of UIN Saizu Purwokerto. The purpose of this study was to find out how the selection process for library materials was carried out in developing collections at UPT Saizu UIN library. The research method used is qualitative research by taking four respondents consisting of one head of the library and three librarians in the management of UIN Saizu. The interview technique was carried out in a structured manner using interview guidelines. The observation technique used non-participants by visiting directly to the research location for two weeks. The data validity technique is source triangulation and descriptive research data analysis. The results of this study indicate that the selection of library materials does not run smoothly when carried out by professional librarians who can build collections. Selection of library materials carried out by UPT Saizu UIN library firstly the librarian submits proposals from students who have completed the list of recommendations given by the library, checking library catalogs through OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) searches, verifying by checking and completing bibliographic data for each title. The tools used by the UIN Saizu library are book scales and publisher catalogs.

Abstract

Abstract Nyadra is a symbol of the relationship between ancestors, nature and each other. This is a ritual pattern that contains local culture and Islamic values. So do not be surprised if the implementation of Nyadran is still related to Buddhist culture and Hindu-Animism which was then assimilated into Islamic values ​​by Wali Songo. In addition, this study will investigate the relationship between Nyadranan and religious values. A qualitative research approach is applied to answer the research questions. These results show a very strong relationship. There are 3 religious values ​​with the nyadran tradition, namely the value of worship aimed at worshiping Allah, the two values ​​of muamalah aiming so that the Islamic community and others do not discriminate against each other, the three values ​​of silaturrahmi aim to make brothers unbroken and more harmonious and peaceful. Keywords: Religion, Local Culture, Nyadran Tradition Abstrak Nyadran merupakan simbol hubungan antara leluhur, alam dan sesama. Ini adalah pola ritual yang mengandung budaya lokal dan nilai-nilai Islam. Maka tidak heran jika pelaksanaan Nyadran masih berkaitan dengan budaya Buddha dan Hindu-Animisme yang kemudian diasimilasi ke nilai-nilai Islam oleh Wali Songo. Selain itu, penelitian ini akan menyelidiki bagaimana hubungan antara Nyadranan dan nilai-nilai agama. Pendekatan penelitian kualitatif diterapkan untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian. Hasil ini menunjukkan hubungan yang sangat kuat. Nilai agama dengan tradisi nyadran ada 3 yaitu nilai ibadah bertujuan untuk beribadah kepada Allah, kedua nilai muamalah bertujuan agar masyarakat islam dan yang lain tidak saling membedakan, ketiga nilai silaturrahmi bertujuan agar antar saudara tidak terputus dan lebih rukun serta damai. Kata Kunci: Agama, Budaya lokal, Tradisi Nyadran

Abstract

User education activities in college libraries are activities provide information on utilizing library services properly and correctly. UMBY Library organizes this activity for new and old students who have not participated and makes this activity routine agenda is carried out at the beginning of each new school year. This study aims to determine the implementation and role of user education in the utilization of services the UMBY library. The research method used is qualitative research by taking 11 respondents consisting of one Head of Library and three Librarians in the technical implementation section as well as three students of class 2021 and four students of class 2022. The data collection methods used are observation, interview, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of user education in the UMBY library in the 2022/2023 academic year was carried out with adjustments to the covid-19 health protocol because it was carried out during a pandemic, then the implementation of user education was only carried out with two models, namely library orientation and library teaching using the lecture method. The role of user education seen from the utilization of available services, searching for information, and the ability to use services.
