Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop an valid and reliable test to measure the student’s basic science process skills in elementary school. This is a Research and Development (R&D) study, the research methods used to produce a specific product and test it’s effectiveness. To achieve the objectives, the research carried out in two phases, namely the phase of the instrument development process and psychometric analysis phase. The first phase includes: identifying an objective test; specifying the content/content of tests or describe the science process skill that will be tested; arrange grating instruments including indicators of there spective skills and items per indicator; write the item / items according tothe indicators; and perform expert judgment (to convince the face and content validity). The second phase is a psychometric analysis conducted by placing a pilot test. Results of the study are (1). Conduct the first phase of the development of the test, the result is the compilation of 24 multiple-choice items that have been valid after various appropriate revisions by expert advice.(2) conduct the second phase of the test development which is a psychometric analysis by conducting pilot tests to determine the internal reliability while recognizing the difficulty and discrimination level. Items accepted are those that have a level of difficulty, different power, distribution of answers suited to the ideal criteria. The results of this study phase are 10 items test are accepted as good items (item number 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 15, 17, 18, 22 and 23), 13 items were fixed/revised (item number 3, 4, 5, 6 , 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 19, 20, 21, 24), and the first question thrown away/not in use (number 10). Abstract

Prodi PGMI STAIN Ponorogo sejak berdirinya telah mengembangkan kerjasama dengan beberapa Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) sebagai mitra dalam mengembangkan pembelajaran di MI. Kerjasama berupa fasilitasi pengembangan madrasah, peningkatan sumber daya manusia, penelitian ke-MI-an, dan peningkatan kualitas mahasiswa calon guru MI. Kerjasama yang telah berjalan sekitar satu dekade diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di kedua belah pihak. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui tingkat penguasaan Keterampilan Proses Sains Dasar Kelas Atas (KPSDKA) siswa madrasah ibtidaiyah mitra STAIN Ponorogo serta membuktikan dan menganalisis ada tidaknya perbedaan dan pengaruh variabel jenis kelamin, tingkatan kelas, jenis sekolah dan interaksi di antaranya terhadap KPSDKA siswa. Melalui survey pada beberapa madrasah mitra sebagai sampel penelitian ditemukan bahwa rata-rata prosentase tingkat penguasaan KPSDKA siswa hanya 54,47%, sedangkan kategori penguasaan siswa mayoritas belum begitu tinggi/sedang. Setelah dilakukan uji perbedaan dengan three ways anova, dibuktikan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan KPSDKA siswa antara siswa laki-lak idan perempuan, dan antara siswa dari MI negeri atau swasta. Tetapi ada perbedaan KPSDKA untuk tingkatan kelas yang berbeda, yaitu siswa dari kelas lebih tinggi mempunyai tingket penguasaan KPSDKA yang lebih baik.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate a learning program for the pre-service elementary madrasah teacher IAIN Ponorogo. This study is very important to be able to support sustainable development appropriate for environmental conservation. The program is supported with zero-waste aspect waste management materials which have been included in environment studying approach. Research and Development was used as a design of the study while this model belongs to eight instructional development phases, with or without modification in ADDIE Model. Observation was conducted to examine the implementation and process of the learning activities. Documentation was utilized to collect data from faculty and departmental administration, particularly regarding curriculum and its related components. Questionnaires were administered to students to gather feedback for product improvement during the trial phase. While to assess product effectiveness, data collection was carried out using test techniques. Results in a structured learning framework consisting of Course Learning Outcomes (CPMK), Semester Learning Plans (RPS), and Practical Guidelines. N-gain analysis demonstrates that the program is moderately effective in improving environmental knowledge and attitudes, but lowly effective in behavior changes as a recent activity. This implies that a systematic environmental learning approach is needed which needs to go beyond the boundaries of one course.

Abstract

Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Cooperative Learning (CL) methods have an important role in improving problem-solving abilities. In the PBL method, students are invited to face real problems with problem-solving skills in finding solutions. Meanwhile, in CL, students work in small groups and share knowledge to achieve deeper understanding. The aim of this research is for students to improve their problem-solving abilities through PBL and CL learning methods. This research is an experimental type with data collection techniques in the form of pretest and posttest in experimental classes 8A and 8B. Normality test data analysis uses Shapiro Wilk, while hypothesis testing uses independent and paired sample t-tests and N-gain tests. The results of this study show that the PBL and CL methods can improve students' problem-solving abilities with experimental class 8A (PBL) learning outcomes of 77.125%; while for experimental class 8B (CL) 71.490%. Meanwhile, the independent sample t-test showed that there were no significant differences in the pre-test and post-test learning results with ρ-value = 0.758 and 0.347 (>0.05). The conclusion in this research is that there is no significant difference in problem-solving abilities in the concept of tolerance through PBL and CL. Furthermore, the implications of this research emphasize real problems that require a tolerant approach. This research recommends teachers in implementing an important learning model by using case studies about interreligious conflicts in society and how to apply the principles of tolerance in resolving these conflicts.
