The sample was taken by using Purposive Sampling, consisted of experimental group with 21 students and control group with 20 students. The research was collected using completion test and analyzed with the independent t-test SPSS 22. The result of tobtained was higher than ttable (4.213 > 2.022) and the value of sig. (2 tailed)=0.000 less than the value of significance level (0.05). So, the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. The finding of the research showed that there is a sigificant difference between experimental group and control group. Abstract

This research was carried out to address the low oral communication skills of students in English at the Nurul Huda Islamic Boarding School, particularly in the context of everyday conversation needed for global interactions. This problem arose because previous learning focused more on grammar theory and vocabulary memorization without providing authentic contexts for use. This activity aimed to empower students through the implementation of contextual English learning that emphasizes direct language use in real-life situations at the Islamic boarding school. The methods used included qualitative descriptive method, developing materials based on students' daily situations, interactive training through role-plays and thematic dialogues, and evaluation through performance observation and assessment of communication practices. The results of the activity demonstrated improvements in students' speaking fluency, communication confidence, and choice of context-appropriate expressions. Furthermore, the contextual approach proved more effective and relevant to their learning environment, although ongoing mentoring was still needed to ensure consistency of practice. Overall, this program successfully improved students' communication competencies while strengthening a culture of practical language learning at the Islamic Boarding School.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to determine whether there is a significant difference in EFL writing ability, specifically in writing descriptive texts, between students taught using Dola AI and students taught using conventional methods among eleventh-grade students at SMK PGRI 2 Belitang. A quasi-experimental method with a matching-only pre-test and post-test control group design was applied in this study. Through a purposive sampling technique, 45 students were selected as participants, consisting of 23 students in the experimental group (XI.4) and 22 students in the control group (XI.3). Writing tests, namely pre-tests and post-tests, were used to collect data, while data analysis was performed using SPSS 26, which included the Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test, the Levene homogeneity test, and the independent samples t-test. This study yielded a significance value (two-tailed) of 0.006, which is less than 0.05 (0.006 < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups. Additionally, the experimental group’s post-test mean score (87.09) was higher than the control group’s (79.50). These findings indicate that Dola AI is effective in improving students’ EFL writing ability, particularly in the areas of content, organization, vocabulary, grammar, and mechanics.

Abstract

This research aimed to design and develop teaching materials in the form of E-Modules Speaking as an alternative learning tool to improve speaking skill of students at the 10th grade of SMAS Kurnia Jaya. The design development method used the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model. In the early stages, a needs analysis was conducted to gather students feedback regarding current learning methods. The E-Module Speaking was then created based on the analysis and design stages. After the E-module Speaking was developed, a validity test was carried out by 2 media experts and 2 material experts, and a practicality test was carried out by 1 teacher to test the feasibility of using the e-module. The results of the research show that this e-module was included in the valid criteria and was suitable for use in the process of learning to speak English, with a media expert validity percentage of 89% (very valid) and a material expert validity of 93% (very valid). It also fulfilled the practicality criteria with teacher practicality test scores of 88% (very valid). The E-Module Speaking was tested two trials, a small group and big group. The small group trial, conducted with 8 students, achieved a percentage of 91,25% (very high). Wheareas, the big group trial, conducted with 29 students achieve a percentage of 90% (very high). Students positive responses to the e-module speaking show that this learning media can be used as a tool to improve students' speaking skills.
