Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain class-based assessment instrument that can measure the critical thinking skills of students in learning chemistry using a model of contextual teaching and learning . The research method used is a research and development (R D) with the design of the study one group pretest-posttest. The study was conducted on 34 students of class X at one of the public high schools in Bandung with the object of research in the form of assessment tools consisting of critical thinking skills test consisting of 15 multiple choice questions grounded, 3 pieces of essays, and 6 pieces of matter worksheets, observation sheet, guidance interviews, and questionnaires . The results showed that the multiple choice questions have reasoned highest validity deduce indicators and consider the results of deduction,  low reliability, level of difficulty between easy to difficult , and significant distinguishing features. Essay has the highest validity indicators ask and answer questions with high reliability, moderate difficulty level, and significant distinguishing features. Student Worksheet has the highest validity indicators ask and answer questions with very high reliability, level of difficulty between easy to moderate, and significant distinguishing instrument developed to measure students' critical thinking skills about the views of validity, with the highest validity of multiple choice questions grounded is number 4 and 13, the highest validity essay is number 1a and 1b, and the highest validity LKS numbers 1, 2, and 3. Contextual teaching and learning can be supportive in improving students' critical thinking skills that can be seen from curiousity stages through observation sheet.Keywords: class-based assessment; critical thinking skills; contextual.

Abstract

Abstrak: Perubahan yang terjadi di era disrupsi dan pasca pandemi covid-19 adalah sebuah keniscayaan. Kehidupan sosial berubah termasuk dalam pendidikan. Proses pembelajaran telah bergeser ke pembelajaran jarak jauh yang sebenarnya telah dilakukan oleh Universitas Terbuka sejak 1984. Kondisi ini memerlukan perhatian dari pemangku kepentingan di Universitas Terbuka untuk bergerak, terlebih lagi sebanyak lebih dari 31% pegawai negeri sipil akan pensiun hingga tahun 2026. Pengetahuan sebagai keunggulan kompetitif harus dikelola untuk menghadapi berbagai macam perubahan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menggambarkan bagaimana penerapan manajemen pengetahuan di Universitas Terbuka dan faktor-faktor yang memengaruhinya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif, dengan melakukan wawancara kepada informan menggunakan purposive sampling. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Universitas Terbuka telah mengimplementasikan manajemen pengetahuan yang tercermin dalam visi, misi dan tujuan organisasi juga dalam pelaksanaan tridarma perguruan tinggi: pendidikan, penelitian, dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dan 2) Ditemukan 15 faktor internal dan 5 faktor eksternal yang memengaruhi penerapan manajemen pengetahuan di Universitas Terbuka. Perlu adanya peningkatan kesadaran dari para pegawai akan pentingnya manajemen pengetahuan, penyusunan strategi, hingga optimalisasi infrastruktur IT untuk meningkatkan daya saing perguruan tinggi.Abstract:  Changes in the disruption era and after the sudden covid-19 pandemic are an inevitability. Our social life is changing including in education. The learning process has shifted into distance learning which has been done by Indonesia Open University since 1984. The condition needs attention from Indonesia Open University stakeholders to move, moreover, over 31% of employees will retire in the next five years. Knowledge as a competitive advantage must be managed to overcome any kind of changes. The purpose of this study is describing how the implementation of knowledge management at Indonesia Open University. The study was qualitative and conducted through interviews with informants using purposive sampling. The results of this study show: 1) Indonesia Open University has implemented knowledge management that is reflected through its vision, mission, and objective as well as in the implementation of education, research, and community service and 2) It is found 15 internal factors and 5 external factors affect to knowledge management implementation. There needs to be increased awareness from employees of the importance of knowledge management, create strategy, and IT infrastructure optimalization to increase the competitiveness of institutions.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of knowledge in the global arena has made it imperative for universities to remain competitive. To nurture students with outstanding competencies, universities need comprehensive support from various stakeholders, especially the industrial sector. The industry sector has emerged as an indispensable collaborator, actively contributing to the educational process, particularly in distance education. The methodology used in this study includes a comprehensive literature review. The article discusses the huge role played by the industrial sector in the context of distance education and integrating experts and practitioners from the business world into the educational framework to enrich the learning process with real-world insights. In addition, providing internship opportunities for students is also considered important. Internships provide invaluable learning experiences, enhancing graduates' competencies, thus strengthening their readiness to enter the workforce. This research explores how industry involvement in education can effectively improve the quality and relevance of distance learning, ultimately producing industry-ready graduates.

Abstract

Background: With the culinary sector undergoing transformative shifts propelled by technological advancements and the ubiquity of social media, understanding the critical success factors for social media marketing becomes imperative for micro and small businesses. Purpose: This study aims to identify and explore critical success factors for social media marketing adoption in micro and small culinary businesses. Design/methodology/approach: Employing a qualitative approach, the research selected a purposive sample of six Indonesian owners of micro and small culinary businesses, playing pivotal roles in shaping business decisions. Semi-structured interviews conducted via telephone and Zoom Meetings formed the basis for data collection with owners and co-owners of micro and small businesses in the culinary Industry in West Java and East Borneo, Indonesia. The data collection focuses on the critical success factors of social media marketing. Interviews were transcribed and thematically analyzed using a narrative approach.Findings/Result: Five thematic outcomes were noted regarding the critical success factors of social media marketing: interaction, trendiness, persistency, curiosity, and entrepreneurial mindset. The study identifies the "entrepreneurial mindset" as a critical success factor, echoed by five out of six informants. Conclusion: Critical factors that contribute to the success of adopting social media marketing for micro and small businesses integrate the entrepreneurial traits of the owners and managers and the effective utilization of social media marketing strategies. Originality/value (State of the art): This study explores in depth the significance of the combination of entrepreneurial traits and effective utilization of social media marketing strategies which remain underexplored in the social media marketing study, particularly in micro and small businesses. Abstract

This study examines the determinant factors of knowledge-sharing intention and behaviour among academics in Indonesia. Academics need to compete and excel in global competition amidst obstacles such as qualification, competency, and working culture. The study integrated the Theory of Planned Behavior, Social Capital Theory, and perceived cost. A questionnaire was distributed online to academics, and 239 respondents were obtained. Data analysis was undertaken by using SEM-PLS. The result found that all the variables examined were determined to be significant, except commitment, extrinsic reward, and facilitating condition. The importance of social networks, trust, self-efficacy, management support, social media use, and perceived cost among academics. The result can help management better understand how to create a knowledge-sharing environment in the institution, significantly higher education institutions with open and distance learning systems.
