Abstract

ABSTRAKSalah satu dari sembilan bahan pokok yang dikonsumsi oleh seluruh lapisan masyarakat khususnya pada masyarakat Kelurahan Jatisampurna Kota Bekasi adalah minyak goreng. Hal ini menyebabkan tingginya pemakaian minyak goreng dan meningkatnya limbah minyak bekas menggoreng atau yang biasa disebut minyak jelantah. Limbah minyak jelantah apabila tidak dikelola dengan baik akan menjadikan lingkungan kotor, ekosistem terganggu dan terjadinya pencemaran air serta tanah. Selama ini, warga Kranggan Permai, Kelurahan Jatisampurna Kota Bekasi menampung minyak jelantah tersebut dalam jerigen minyak untuk seterusnya dijual kepada penadah. Perlu adanya inovasi pengelolaan minyak jelantah menjadi produk yang nilai ekonomisnya lebih tinggi dan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan warga Kranggan Permai Kelurahan Jatisampurna, Kota Bekasi agar menjadi lingkungan yang lebih mandiri. Salah satu potensi limbah minyak goreng adalah kandungan asam lemak yang tinggi sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan menjadi sabun cuci yang ramah lingkungan. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat untuk meningkatkan nilai ekonomis minyak jelantah dengan mengolahnya menjadi sabun cuci pakaian. Pembuatan sabun cuci pakaian dilakukan dengan metode cold process atau proses dingin menjadi sabun batang yang dapat digunakan 4 minggu kemudian setelah proses curing. Kata kunci: minyak jelantah; sabun; cold process. ABSTRACTOne of the nine basic ingredients consumed by all levels of society, especially in the Jatisampurna Village, Bekasi City, is cooking oil. This has resulted in high use of cooking oil and increased waste of used frying oil or what is commonly called waste cooking oil. Waste cooking oil if not managed properly will make the environment dirty, disrupt ecosystems and cause water and soil pollution. Residents of Kranggan Permai, Jatisampurna Village, Bekasi City, all this time have collected the waste cooking oil in jerry cans to be sold to the collectors. There is a need for innovation in the management of waste cooking oil into a product with higher economic value and can improve the skills of the residents of Kranggan Permai, Jatisampurna Village, Bekasi City, so that they become a more independent. One of the potential wastes of cooking oil is the high content of fatty acids that can be used to make laundry soap that is environmentally friendly. Therefore, community service activities are carried out to increase the economic value of used cooking oil by processing it into laundry soap. Laundry soap is made using the cold process method to make bar soap which can be used 4 weeks later after cured. Keywords: used cooking oil; cold process; community service.

Abstract

This study aims to synthesize cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) from oil palm biomass and to characterize their properties. The method involved cellulose isolation through delignification using alkaline salts, followed by CNC synthesis via acid hydrolysis, and characterization using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Particle Size Analyzer (PSA). The PSA analysis showed that CNC had an average diameter of 30 nm, with a small fraction ranging from 90 to 100 nm and another fraction reaching 10 nm. Morphological analysis by SEM revealed that CNC exhibited a rough surface. In conclusion, the obtained CNC has potential applications as a functional material in various fields, particularly in the automotive sector as a thermal insulation material. Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed various sectors, including health higher education institutions, which are now required to produce human resources who are adaptive, competent, and prepared to face the demands of the digital health industry. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated this transformation, promoting the adoption of technologies such as e-learning, telemedicine, and artificial intelligence in both education and healthcare service delivery. This study aims to systematically review recent literature on the strategic role of health higher education institutions in shaping students' digital competencies. A literature review method was applied, analyzing 24 national and international peer-reviewed articles published between 2019 and 2025 that address the digitalization of health education and human resource development. Findings indicate that digitalization not only enhances learning access and effectiveness but also opens opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, improves digital literacy, and supports the development of technology-based curricula. However, several challenges persist, including digital inequality, limited infrastructure, lack of faculty training, and data privacy concerns. Therefore, a strategic and collaborative approach involving educational institutions, technology providers, and healthcare stakeholders is essential to ensure that digital integration effectively prepares graduates who are relevant, adaptive, and globally competitive.
