Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, there was an increase in sales of vitamin C products. A preliminary survey of 57 people aged 18-60 years showed that the most oral vitamin C products consumed is 500 mg and buying decisions was influenced by several things. This study aims to analyze the effect of product attributes and consumer characteristics on consumer preferences and buying decisions for oral vitamin C products during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study was an explanatory quantitative study of 159 respondents who purchased 500 mg oral vitamin C products. Respondents was men and women, aged 18-60 years, bought 500 mg oral vitamin C products without a doctor's prescription at pharmacies in Bogor district, West Java during December 2020 - January 2021 and were not in the healing period. Data was collected by purposive sampling and analyzed by SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) using the Second Order Confirmatory Factor Analysis technique using the Lisrel program. The results showed that the product attributes of 500 mg oral vitamin C had no significant effect on consumer preferences and buying decisions. Consumer characteristics have a significant effect on consumer preferences and buying decisions for 500 mg oral vitamin C products. Consumer preferences have a significant effect on buying decisions for 500 mg oral vitamin C products. During the COVID-19 pandemic, personal psychological factors which are consumer characteristics have the most significant influence on consumer preferences in choosing and buying decisions of 500 mg oral vitamin C products, followed by socio-economic factors and cultural factors.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease caused by insulin disorders, which is characterized by increased blood glucose levels (hyperglycemia). The incidence of diabetes in the world continues to increase. Diabetes can cause blindness, kidney failure, heart attack, stroke, and lower limb amputation. Diabetes can be prevented with a healthy lifestyle such as diet, physical activity, maintaining an ideal body weight, and reducing cigarette consumption. One of the efforts to increase knowledge to prevent diabetes is to provide health education to the society. The purpose of this society service is to increase public knowledge to prevent diabetes. The method used is health education with lectures and discussions about: the definition of DM; signs and symptoms; risk factor; prevention; and complications. The media used is a leaflet. Stages of health education carried out include pre-test, lecture-question and answer, post-test. The results showed that after being given health education, almost all of the participants knew the material provided.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease which is still a global health problem. At present, tuberculosis treatment is given in the form of a package in the form of fixed-dose combination anti-tuberculosis drugs in general, namely Rifampicin, Isoniazid, Ethambutol, and Pyranizamid. Anti-Tuberculosis is a long-term treatment. One of the side effects of using it can be nephrotoxic or destructive to cells in the kidney, which can decrease the kidney's excretory function with a marked increase in substances from blood chemistry, namely urea, creatinine, and uric acid. This study aimed to analyze urea, creatinine, and uric acid levels in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis consume Anti-Tuberculosis therapy at Dr. Lung Hospital. M. Goenawan Partowidigdo Cisarua Bogor. The research method was descriptive by taking secondary data from Gita Iftitah Renitia's research results. The descriptive tests analyzed DR-TB OAT side effects confirmed by laboratory results. The research result from the sample count, there were 243 patients, confirmed laboratory results found normal urea levels (20-40 mg/dL) in 97 people (59.5%); normal limit creatinine (0.5-1.5 mg/dL) 150 people (92%); uric acid was above normal (> 6 mg/dL) in 113 people (61.4%). The concluded that side effects of DR-TB OAT in the highest number of cases of uric acid levels above normal (> 6 mg/dL) were found in housewives.
