Abstract

This article aims to (1) map the evaluation models of guidance and counseling plans that counselors have implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic; (2) describe the fundamental concepts of evaluation models that are considered efficient and effective to be applied by counselors during the COVID-19 pandemic; (3) explain the practical procedures for an effective and efficient evaluation model to be applied by counselors during the COVID-19 pandemic. This article uses a literature study method to analyze the Miles & Huberman model on the latest relevant articles. It is hoped that the results will be by the article’s purpose. The results of the analysis of this article show that the guidance and counseling evaluation models used by counselors during the pandemic are four examples of the CIPP evaluation program, one evaluation model of the gap model, one evaluation model based on technology media, and six formative-summative evaluation models. Of the several evaluation models, there are two evaluation models that researchers recommend for counselors to use during the pandemic, namely the CIPP and gap evaluation models.

Abstract

Based on the researchers' initial study at four high schools in the city of Surabaya, the researchers found that counseling supervision instruments in schools tend not to have been developed scientifically and are not optimal enough to be used in supervising individual counseling implementation indicators. Therefore, through the Borg and Gall development model, this study intends to develop a credible and accurate individual counseling clinical supervision instrument with a Solution-Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) approach. Validation results from two counseling experts, three high school counselors, a readability test in focus group discussions, and a limited trial of counseling supervision practices involving five different high school counselors. It was found that individual counseling clinical supervision instruments covering planning and practice aspects met three criteria of acceptability (accuracy, usefulness, and practicality), while in the readability test, it was in a good category with an average score of 82%, with a sufficient validity level of > 0.754 and reliability 0.630 and 0.681 which means good. So that this product can be used by senior counselors to assist them in implementing individual counseling clinical supervision in schools

Abstract

The development of counselor performance assessment instruments, especially for group guidance services, is still being developed independently by each higher education institution. It tends to be non-standard and not entirely in line with the need to create counselor competency in implementing school group guidance services. This research aims to create a performance test instrument for group guidance services for school counselors that is valid and reliable by adapting the development model from Borg & Gall at three stages of development. By involving 5 subjects as testers for the acceptability of performance instruments, namely 2 lecturers and 3 school counselors. Thirty-nine construct validity and reliability testing subjects consist of 2 lecturers, 12 school counselors, and 20 practical students. This development resulted in a set of counselor performance assessment instruments in group guidance services consisting of 13 statement instrument items on the planning aspect and 27 on the practice aspect, tested as valid and reliable based on SPSS 26 analysis. Furthermore, experts and users have also validated the assessment instrument by meeting acceptability criteria (applicable, feasible, and appropriate). Thus, it can be concluded that the counselor performance test instrument product in group guidance has met the development objectives and can be used for assessment in the planning and practice of group guidance services in schools or clinical counseling supervision activities.

Abstract

The constraints of learning management skills and environmental adaptation are often faced by new students, including students who are in the international class program. But sometimes, students are not given psychological assistance to be able to overcome their problems. This research aims to produce a training model to improve Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) for international class students to be able to adapt and survive in undergoing high academic demands. Using the 4-D development (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), the SRL improvement training model for international class students of the Faculty of Education, Surabaya State University has been validated by 2 experts and 3 lecturers as potential users and tested its effectiveness through a quasi-experiment with 40 students. The results found that the SRL improvement training model for international class students has met the aspects of acceptability and is empirically proven to improve SRL skills. This finding can be followed up by disseminating to all faculties that have international class programs at Surabaya State University and adapting it to the campus's Learning Management System (LMS) to make it more accessible.
