Abstract

Kata kunci: sekam padi, surfaktan, sulfonasi, sodium lignosulfonat, UV-VIS Abstract-Surfactant is one of the most important raw materials used in various industrial fields, such as emulsifiers, corrosion inhibitors, foaming agent, detergent and hair conditioning products. This study aims to find out the surfactant production process of rice husk through direct sulfonation process. In addition, this study aims to determine the effect of variation of NaHSO3 concentrations and variation of temperature on the amount of surfactant. Surfactant in this study was made from lignin content of rice husk which was obtained from the Kuin region, South Kalimantan. Firstly, rice husk was dried and sieved. The rice husk that passed the 355 micron sieve and retained on 250 micron sieve was mixed with 250 mL of sodium bisulfite (the variations were 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 30%) for pH check. H2SO4 was added to the mixture to get pH 4. The mixtures then was heated at 70oC, 85oC and 100oC. The solution result was filtered, 5 mL of the solution was ovened to obtain the powder of sodium lignosulfonate (surfactant). From the results obtained, it can be concluded that the greater concentration of NaHSO3 and operating temperature, the higher the surfactant yield will be obtained. The highest yield was obtained at a concentration of surfactant NaHSO3 solution of 30% with operating temperature of 100oC is 1.19% (wt%). The comparison of characteristics test of rice husk surfactant solution with a solution of synthetic surfactant (ABS) showed two solutions with a scent of sulfur and slightly acidic, having a pH of 5 and completely soluble in water. Meanwhile, for the color variable, there is a visible difference. For the synthetic surfactant solution (ABS) the solution was brownish yellow and rice husk surfactant solution had a yellowish color. Keywords: rice husk, surfactant, sulphonated, sodium lignosulfonate, characteristics test

Abstract

It is common knowledge in the investment world that investor candidates will look at their risk profile before determining what investment is suitable. This article aims to see the relationship between risk profile and the type of investment chosen. At the initial stage respondents were asked to answer questions to determine their risk profile. In the second stage, 40 respondents were given a deeper understanding of investment, in the third stage respondents would conduct a stock investment simulation, then respondents would trade stocks themselves according to the direction and guidance of the mentor. Three months later, respondents were surveyed about stock investment and their understanding of investments. Respondents were dominated by women and aged between 30-40 years, had jobs or were housewives. There is a relationship between risk profile and the type of investment preferred. Aggressive profiles tend to choose investments in stocks and bonds, Moderate profiles tend to choose gold and stock investments. Conservative profiles tend to choose gold and property investments. The implication is that the risk profile is used as a reference in determining the type of investment. There is a change in the way participants view investing due to risk profile factors and factors of increasing knowledge about investment, but gold investment is still the main choice because the risk profile of participants is dominated by conservative and moderate profiles.

Abstract

Abstract

One of the problems faced by MSMEs is the difficulty of obtaining capital from outside parties. After conducting interviews with the Bogor Regency MSME association which accommodates about 700,000 MSMEs, information was obtained that one of the causes of the funding difficulties was the unavailability of a business plan by MSMEs. This was also confirmed through answers from MSMEs trainees, where 100% of MSMEs did not have a written business plan either manually or digitally. The method for community development activities is Participatory Action Research (PAR), which emphasizes meeting needs and solving problems in the community. The Business Model Canvas method was chosen for making MSMEs' business plan by reviewing the literature and paying attention to best practices. After attending the training, all MSMEs understand the Business Model Canvas (BMC). After understanding BMC, all MSMEs created business models in groups with assistance from community engagement team (authors). MSMEs fill all blocks relatively well in BMC, but there needs to be an increase in filling customer segments and cost structure. Next, the business model created by the MSME is input into a digital application, which is ready to be printed by the MSME (carried out in the next activity). It is hoped that this business model in digital and print form will answer one of the administrative obstacles in obtaining external funding.

Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of Iwapi Depok City members are partially able to market their products online by selling products in the marketplace. It's just that online marketing does not directly make the market for MSME products wider. MSMEs must build brand image and brand awareness by creating a unique product identity, attractive slogans, colors, logos and brands that can represent the product. Building a strong brand image and brand awareness with limited resources is challenging. One solution is to conduct direct marketing communication through bazaar activities. Communication skills are needed to support this activity. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct training to improve interpersonal business communication skills for MSME actors participating in the bazaar. This training targets MSME actors who are members of Iwapi Depok who have the goal of improving marketing communication skills in business. The training method refers to the theory of PAR or Participatory Action Research and the benchmark used to assess the success of this empowerment program with the KUPAR cycle. Evaluation of the effectiveness level of training activities using the pre-test average score and post-test average score. The training activity succeeded in improving the knowledge and business communication skills of the participants with a significance number (α) < 0.05. This means that Ho was rejected, there was a significant difference between the average pre-test score and the post-test average score. Business communication skills are implemented in bazaar activities. The bazaar which was held in the yard of Depok City Hall could be carried out well. The success of bazaar activities is evidenced by an increase in sales turnover and a 60% increase in profits during bazaar activities and a 20% increase in profits after the completion of bazaar activities.
