Abstract

The sack of Baghdad is a dramatic event which was immediately followed by several key historical events, including the rise of Islamic Mongol. Founded by Chengiz Khan, the Mongol are the destroyer machine who previously ended the glory of Islam in 13th century Middle East. A lot has been said concerning that dramatic siege, but little has been discussed regarding the continuation between the siege and the “reverse flow” of the Mongols as the unique events in the aftermath of the Baghdad’s fall. The object of this paper is to examine the siege of Baghdad in the light of Central Asian frame and to explore the important events in the aftermath of the siege which are related to the rise of the Islamic Mongol Dynasties.

Abstract

Indonesian Islam has gone through a long journey in its history since the first advent up to the present day. In this course, one should note that the process of Islamization was formed under a set of historical and cultural complexity. Among those, the role of Islamic preaching is the most important. Under this canopy, the process of transmission and transformation took the first place as the main force. As the Qur’an and Sunna are the major sources for all Muslims around the world. Both had also become the main streams in Islamicization. Seerat-e-nabi, beside the Qur’an, in this case has a place of honor. It became one of the major sources of all Islamic heritages in Indonesia. The prophet Muhammad PBUH (peace be upon him) was immersed within the Indonesian Islamic traditions in various fields and spheres. It is fair to say that the story of the islamicization of the Indonesian archipelago and the face of Indonesian Islam today is culturally formed by the determination of seerat-e-nabi, besides the Qur’anic scripture. In the other words, the birth and the face of Islam really depend on how its adherents interpret and take a cultural reception on the seerat-e-nabi. This paper tries to capture the prophetic heritage in Indonesian Islam in twofold analysis; transmission and transformation. The former tries to explore how the heritage of seerat-e-nabi flowed into the scene of Indonesian moslem life through various modes of transmission up to the present day. The latter aims at how the seerat-e-nabi became the force and inspiration for the various receptions of institutional matters.

Abstract

This article aims to sketch the “geopolitics” of the past by investigating the context of the medieval Islamic world. Not only in today’s world, international political and economic relations have also had their precedents in the past. Given its strategic position in this issue, the Middle East is one of the regions that are interesting to study in the context of geopolitical narratives from the past to the present. This article tries to unravel the geopolitical situation of the Medieval Middle East by tracing historical records related to the economic-political relations of Islamic dynasties through a broader picture by looking at their relationship with other political powers that existed at that time, especially the Mongols and European-Christian kingdoms in general. This exploration shows how the issues of political pragmatism filled with negotiations and the necessity of religious issues have been deeply intertwined with each other and became a major feature of geopolitical relations in the medieval Middle East.[Artikel ini menggambarkan sebuah sketsa tentang “geo-politik” di masa lalu dengan menginvestigasi konteks dunia Islam pada abad pertengahan. Abstract

Jajan Sahabi Frozen Food (Jajan Sahabi) is a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) located in Secang, Magelang, offering various types of frozen foods such as burgers, meatballs, and fries from multiple brands. Currently, inventory tracking at Jajan Sahabi is still conducted manually using a logbook, while stock replenishment is carried out weekly based on the remaining inventory. This approach leads to stock imbalances, either resulting in overstock, which may cause losses, or understock, which could lead to customer dissatisfaction. Forecasting is employed as an alternative decision-making tool to predict product demand based on historical data over a certain period. This study analyzes meatball sales reports from January 2022 to December 2022 using the Weighted Moving Average (WMA) method. The accuracy of the forecasts was evaluated using Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD) and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). The forecast results for January 2023 indicate that Meatball Ori is expected to sell 216.3 pieces with a MAD of 76.81 and a MAPE of 53.90%. Meatball Kanzler showed the best performance with a MAPE of 28.80% and a MAD of 28.53. In contrast, Meatball Ikan, Meatball Ikan TL, Meatball Fish dan Shrimp, Meatball Cheese Kanzler, and Meatball Wahid exhibited lower accuracy, with MAPE values ranging from 29.03% to 53.90%. These results suggest that the WMA method produces varying outcomes depending on the product, indicating that further adjustments may be necessary to enhance accuracy.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is twofold, namely: uncovering traditions in Yogyakarta's traditional markets in the face of free competition and developing them into Islamic trade clean from the influence of capitalism. Researchers used the main information from observations and interviews with traditional market participants, namely: one person from the Yogyakarta palace, one market authority, one trader, one buyer, and one person from the market association. Supporting information is taken from the researcher's readings on literature documents related to the research topic, such as articles that have been published in journals and library books. After the information is collected, it is then analyzed interactively throughout the research period by triangulating continuously until it is saturated. The results of this study show that traditional market traditions in Yogyakarta, such as market kekancingan, supervision by market lurah, kirab, and market grebeg, have been maintained from the onslaught of the free market so that it continues to exist until now because of the spirit of market players driven by Islamic motivation, namely worshipping Allah SWT. These traditions can be developed to be stronger to revive Islamic trade in an Islamic economic system that can match capitalism. This method of developing the tradition by adding a complete understanding of the concept of the market in the Islamic economic system. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to adding to the discourse of the market concept in Islamic economic studies and can practically be applied by the authorities for the protection of traditional markets from modern market attacks.
