Abstract

The advancement of technology drives online shopping activities in society. There are 59 million SMEs in Indonesia, 56.3% of which have utilized social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. According to a TikTok Indonesia survey in 2024, 70% of TikTok users have watched live shopping, and less than 40% have engaged in impulse buying. This study aims to analyze the effect of impulse buying on the sales growth of SMEs in Indonesia while enriching social commerce literature by integrating a machine learning approach to predict impulse buying and comparing the performance of classification algorithms in the context of consumer behavior. Data were obtained through simulations of 1,000 TikTok Live Shopping SME sessions from January to March 2025 across various product categories. Next, an analysis of machine learning methods was conducted using the Support Vector Machine (SVM) Algorithm, Naïve Bayes Classifier, and K-Nearest Neighbor, as well as calculations with simple linear regression to test the predicted impulse buying and sales growth. The SVM results had the highest accuracy rate of 91.2%, and linear regression showed a significant positive impact between impulse buying and MSME sales growth (β = 0.64; R² = 0.72; p < 0.001).

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has fundamentally transformed business practices, creating both opportunities and challenges for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Kopi Azol, a local coffee shop MSME in Padang City, West Sumatra, demonstrated extraordinary resilience after surviving fire and flood disasters, yet lacked a formal digital presence in the form of an official website. This community service activity, conducted through the Project-Based Learning (PBL) framework of the Web Design course at Politeknik Negeri Padang, aimed to design and develop a professional company profile website for Kopi Azol. The method encompassed field observation, structured interviews, needs analysis, UI/UX-based website design using the SITE123 platform, implementation, and evaluation. The resulting website, accessible at http://6a1eb0ebb24f0.site123.me/, features seven key sections: Home, Video Profile, About, Menu, Services, Testimonials, and Contact, integrated with WhatsApp, Instagram, and Google Maps. The website strengthens Kopi Azol's digital branding, broadens its market reach, and enhances consumer trust. This initiative demonstrates that academic-community collaboration through PBL can produce measurable digital solutions for local MSMEs.

Abstract

The implementation of the e-learning system at Dharma Andalas University faces significant challenges in terms of an uninspiring user interface (UI), hindering the student learning experience. The main problems include complicated navigation, inconsistent visual design, and limited accessibility, making it difficult for students to make optimal use of the system. This research aims to optimize the e-learning UI system at Dharma Andalas University using the ITIL v3 framework. Research methods include analyzing user needs through interviews, surveys and direct observation. ITIL v3 stages, including Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operation, and Continual Service Improvement (CSI), are applied to identify problems, design solutions, and make continuous improvements. A waterfall approach is used in development systems, ensuring a systematic workflow and focus on user needs. The research results show that interface optimization using ITIL v3 increases user satisfaction levels by up to 25%, with a reduction in task completion time by 30%. An optimized system is more responsive, easy to access across devices, and supports a more interactive learning experience. This research makes a significant contribution in managing IT-based e-learning services, especially in integrating the ITIL v3 approach to improve the quality of digital education at Dharma Andalas University.

Abstract

In the digital era, the ability of MSMEs to keep up with technological developments and utilize them effectively is very important. Web design-based learning projects for MSMEs are an important effort to overcome this problem. With a focus on a practical learning approach, this project aims to empower MSMEs to design and manage websites that suit their business needs. The interview method is a way to collect data, through direct interviews with Vina Kasur. Then the answers from the interview results were summarized by the researcher. With a successful launch, we will see a positive impact with a significant increase in the number of customers and sales volume. Through the website creation project for MSMEs, we succeeded in applying the basic concepts acquired during the learning process. The process of analysis, website structure planning, and functionality development has formed a solid foundation for this project. The result is a website for MSME Vina Kasur that not only increases the business's online presence but also provides a better experience.
