Abstract

Physical learning of optical instruments subject in the SMA N 13 Semarang used media such as power point, books, video, and internet. Teacher had not developed yet another innovative learning media. The research’s purpose was for knowing the appropriateness media developed into Pop-Up Book form of optical instruments subject. The appropriateness media was tested use questionnaire, documentation, and test methods to know effectiveness level of Pop-Up Book. The samples of this research were students of grade X, physical teacher, media expert, and also subject expert. The Pop-Up Book which was resulted have effectiveness level was 75.42%, which was include into very good criteria. The appropriateness average score of Pop-Up Book was 80.62% which was include into good criteria. Based on the indicator had been established and the result of data respondent, so Pop-Up Book worth used as physical learning media of optical instruments for senior high school students.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine variety of students misconception, as well as its causes and impact. Design of the study was a survey study, which was a study to collect data from a certain natural place (not created one), but the researcher did a treatment in collecting data. Samples were taken by using purposive sampling method, and they were classes of XI IPA 3 and XI IPA 5. The samples were collected by observation, documentation, questionnaire, test and interview. Result of study indicated that highest level of knowing the concept was on fluids and static fluids concepts as much as 40,2%, level of knowing-but-not-sure was on adhession and cohession concept as much as 11,8%, while the highest level of misconception was on Archimedes law concept as much as 54,5% and the highest level of not-knowing was on viscosity and its units concept as much as 72,5%. There were some factors causing the students misconception, such as, learning process, students thinking way, material books, experience and lack of knowledge.

Abstract

Teacher centered learning method which teacher usually used for Science Learning made students bored and can not following learning process well so the learning outcomes decrease. To increase motivation and learning outcomes, teacher needs various learning models.  One of the learning models that can be applied is Team Assisted Individualization with Vee Diagram. This study aims to determine the effect of Vee Diagram on the learning model of Team Assisted Individualization in improving student's motivation and learning outcomes. In this research the research design used was quasi experimental design with non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest with the sample chosen based on purposive sampling. Population of this study was students with eight grade of 8 Junior High School in Semarang. Sample of this study were A class as experiment class and B class as control class. Motivation and learning outcomes obtained from pretest and post test. Student learning outcomes have increased significantly marked by  was . While learning motivation also made a significant increase marked with  is   . So it means motivation and learning outcomes of experiment class better than control class.

Abstract

Science Learning in the curriculum of 2013 is developed as integrated learning not as a science discipline. Teaching and learning process consist of students and teacher activity. The purpose of this study is to know about the verbal activity from the teacher and student hands-on activity and the integration of learning material. This research was descriptive research. The subjects of the research were the students of class VIIIB, VIIIH and VIIF of SMP N 1 Bobotsari. The technique of data analysis is by making the transcript of ideo learning process. The result of the research is the description of student and teacher verbal activity, hands on activity, and integration of learning materials. Teacher's verbal activity is dominated by 62.34% of questions. The student's verbal activity is dominated by the answer statements of 69,44%. Average result of hands on activity was 33.12%. The integration of learning materials for class VIII B and VIII H has not shown the integration of Integrated Science, whereas for class VII F has shown the integrity of material from Integrated Science.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan desain pelatihan pembelajaran IPA berbasis DIGICOM serta mengukur tingkat pemahaman guru fisika Kab. Demak setelah mengikuti pelatihan penggunaan. Metode penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan subyek penelitian guru fisika Kabupaten Demak sejumlah 16 orang. Instrumen pengambilan data berupa angket dan obervasi pelaksanaan pelatihan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah 1) telah dihasilkan desain materi pelatihan pembelajaran IPA berbasis mikroskop digital, 2) Sebanyak 94 % peserta pelatihan pembelajaran IPA berbasis DIGICOM mampu memahami materi pelatihan dengan baik. Sedangkan sebanyak 6 % belum mampu memahami materi pelatihan sebab media yang digunakan adalah kamera DLSR sehingga membutuhkan pelatihan dan pendampingan lebih lanjut. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pelatihan pembelajaran IPA berbasis DIGICOM mampu dipahami dengan baik oleh guru fisika Kabupaten Demak.   The research aimed to design a workshop for science learning process using DIGICOM as well as to determine participant’s understanding about DIGICOM after following the workshop.  Participants were teachers of physics subject in Demak, Central Java.  The research method is qualitative method by using questionnaire and observation during the workshop.  The results of the research are 1) design of material for workshop on learning process using digital microscope, 2) 94% of the workshop participant comprehend the material well.  Meanwhile, 6% of the participants could not understand the material clearly so that more intensive workshop is required.  As conclusion, the workshop for  science learning process using DIGICOM could be followed and understood well by Physic teachers in Demak.

Abstract

Hambatan tanah yang rendah sangat diperlukan untuk mengantisipasi arus balik sehingga dapat langsung di ketanahkan. Penelitian awal dilakukan dengan observasi lapangan untuk memetakan komposisi nilai hambat jenis (resisitivitas) tanah di depan lab Fisika menggunakan peralatan geolistrik dengan konfigurasi Wenner. Dengan menggunakan software pengolah data Res2DINV diperoleh model sismilasi irisan nilai hambat jenis (resisitivitas) tanah dalam variasi kedalaman. Hasil pengukuran geolistrik kemudian digunakan sebagai bahan pertimbangan untuk penentuan penananman elektrode batang tunggal sebagai bagian utama dari system pentanahan (grounding). Pengujian hambatan tanah dilakukan dengan cara mengebor tanah guna pengaturan kedalaman tanam elektrode batang tersebut setiap penambahan kedalaman 0,5 m. Pengukuran hambatan tanah menggunakan peralatan ukur analog earth resistance tester. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan kecenderungan bahwa makin dalam penanaman elektroda batang tunggal nilai hambatan tanahnya makin kecil.

Abstract

The thinking skills taught in schools are very varied and useful for training students to be ready to dive in society. The Student Worksheet based on STEM is expected to be used as a medium to train students' critical thinking skills. The primary purpose of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of Student Worksheets Based on STEM as a tool to train students' critical thinking skills in physics learning at senior high school.  Therefore, this research is focused on identifying (1) effectiveness of Student Worksheets Based on STEM as a learning tools; (2) profile of critical thinking skills of students after STEM-based LKS-based learning. This research uses a quasi-experimental method in One Group Pretest-Posttest Design form. The subjects of this research were grade XI students at SMA 1 Subah, while the object of the research was the Effectiveness of student worksheets based on STEM to Train Critical Thinking Skills. The instrument in this research is a matter of critical thinking skills with the method of data collection in the form of Pretest-Posttest. Then that data is analyzed by descriptive statistics and inferencing statistics. The conclusion of this research is the n-gain of worksheets based on STEM as a learning tool reaches 0.55 so that its effectiveness is categorized in the medium. The profile of critical thinking skills of students has increased after the STEM-based LKS-assisted learning.

Abstract

This study applies cooperative learning type think pair share as a substitute for conventional models with lecture methods that are often used by teachers so that they do not actively involve students which results in students being sleepy and not interested in participating in learning physics. Research objectives to determine the effectiveness of the cooperative learning model type think pair share on cognitive learning outcomes and abilities social skills. This study uses a quasy experiment method with a non-equivalent control group design and purposive sampling technique for sampling. This research data collection uses test, observation, and questionnaire methods. In the experimental class the think pair share learning model was applied and the control class applied the conventional learning model. The results of the analysis of research data, obtained n-gain cognitive learning outcomes of the experimental class and the control class of 0.605 and 0.518 with the medium category. Based on the analysis of social skill questionnaire data, the n-gain of the social skills of the experimental class and control class was 0.669 and 0.541 with the medium category. The results of descriptive analysis of the wide observation of social skills in general obtained an average social skills of students in the experimental class by 84,86% with very good criteria and control class by 69,67% with good criteria. It was concluded that the cooperative learning model of think pair share type was effective enough to improve cognitive learning outcomes and social skills ability of class X high school students on business and energy materials.

Abstract

Hasil observasi di SMP Negeri 2 Pucakwangi menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran IPA belum dilaksanakan secara terpadu. Penyebab para guru belum membelajarkan IPA secara terpadu adalah belum tersedianya bahan ajar IPA terpadu, artinya bahan ajar yang digunakan belum membahas materi dari aspek fisika, kimia, dan  biologi. Bahan ajar adalah bahan (materi) yang digunakan guru atau siswa dalam pembelajaran, salah satunya berupa modul. Pada penelitian ini dikembangkan modul tema bunyi dengan menerapkan pendekatan kontekstual. Pembuatan modul diawali dengan pengintegrasian kompetensi dasar dari beberapa kajian IPA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah modul yang dikembangkan layak digunakan sebagai bahan ajar di SMP. Desain yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development). Penelitian dilakukan melalui tahap penelitian dan pengumpulan data, perencanaan, pengembangan produk, validasi, revisi, dan tahap uji coba. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII. Hasil penilaian pakar terhadap modul yang dikembangkan 95,47%, tanggapan siswa mencapai 99,34 %, dan semua siswa (100%) telah mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal yang ditetapkan (75). Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul yang dikembangkan memenuhi syarat kelayakan sebagai bahan ajar.  The observations results in SMP Negeri 2 Pucakwangi showed that the integrated science learning had not been applied. The reason of the teacher had not taught the integrated science was the unavailability of an integrated teaching materials, it means that science teaching material had not discussed the material in the aspects of physics, chemistry, and biology. Teaching materials are materials used by teachers or students in the learning process, one of them is in the form of module. In this research, it is developed modules with topic of sound by applying contextual approach. The first step of making teaching materials was integration of basic competence of Science learning. This research aims to determine whether the modules which has developed decent used as teaching materials in junior high school. The research design applied in this research is a Research and Development (R&D). The research was done through research step and data collection, planning, development of product, validation, revision, and testing stage. The subject of research was the students of class VIII. The expert judgment result of integrated science modules was developed  reached 95,47%, student responses reached 99.37% and all students (100%) has reached the minimum mastery criteria set (75). It can be concluded that the developed modules meet the eligibility requirements as teaching materials.
